  • 2020 Titan Machinery Case IH 8240 combine walk-around video series. Video #3 of 6: Threshing, separating, and rethreshing. This segment of our 2020 flagship Case IH combine walk-around video series focuses on the part of the combine that does the main job of the combine - threshing and separating the grain from the rest of the crop. Starting with examining the transition cone for wear that’s causing holes to appear and how to patch that up if it’s a problem. Next, Heath inspects the impeller blades and when to replace the wear bar due to wear. Moving to the rasp bars, the video shows a new rasp bar side-by-side with a worn-out one to demonstrate how to know when they need to be replaced based on the amount of wear. Concaves are the next subject covered by our technician - what to look for in terms of broken or worn-out bars and wires, what to look for with the hardware that holds them in place, and the proper procedure for leveling the concave, setting the pinch-point and the setting the stop bolts. Next, Heath discusses how to inspect the vanes and which ones are most likely to be damaged or knocked-out by rocks. Then the video moves to the rethreshing housing and where to look for holes and damage, how to deal with cracking issues that may be developing, and which bearings and bushings to inspect to inspect. This segment finishes with an inspection of the tailings sensor.
