  • The K7 is from the well established Innovv brand and they sent me it to review (but I have not been paid to do this). This video I say thoughts on installation, footage comparison with a Go-Pro, app run-through and general summary.
Hope it's useful to someone out there!
The link to the video from abikething which tells you how to install and remove all the panels is here:

Good review of a useful system - thanks, Andy. Also, do I spot a Vox AC30 hiding in the background? I have an old valve one from 1966 which always smells like burning dust when it's on 😅

With looping turned off, it's splitting files into 12 min videos. Were you able to record more than 12 min of time in one file on yours?

That’s normal for a dashcam that files are split into chunks. You can just stitch them back together in your video editor if you need to.

@@andybcole In between chunks time is lost though. I would expect turning off looping in the settings meant just that. I was expecting more of a GoPro experience especially with the way it's marketed on the website. If at any time they said the max video length was 12 min I would have bought a GoPro Hero 12 and save a bunch of money and the time to cleanly install the cameras. Thanks for the reply.

    Hi,
Have you experienced any unreadable video files recorded on the SD card? Double click ends in error message as invalid or corrupted file? I’m dealing with an issue on my XY dashcam, and I’ve noticed several customer reviews for different dashcams complaining about similar problems (unreadable files, jerky recordings, etc.). I’ve also seen some suggestions that the type or reference of the SD card could be related, but I’m not sure if that’s the root cause. What is your experience with this question?

Not something I’ve experienced but in general terms different SD Cards have different speed ratings and different endurance levels. I would always recommend following the manufacturers instructions, for example the Innovv K7 has to record dual 2.7k files which is a lot of data at one time, which is why they recommend a v30 card and I you’ll note they sell the Samsung Pro Endurance paired with it on their website - reason being you often get what you pay for in SD cards! Using a lower rated card or cheap non-brand card will almost invariably lead to corruption issues.

@@andybcole Thank you very much; I appreciate your detailed reply.
I’ve gone through various SD cards, from cheap to pro, and while the situation has improved, it’s not completely resolved. That’s why I have questions in this direction before decision to buy. Thanks again, and best regards,

You don't say how you have powered the k7.

Wired straight to the battery - needs to be in order to use any of the parking features. I refer to the abikething video which shows the power connections and I followed that.

@@andybcole Thanks for the info, thinking of using a thunderbox as it concerns me it may drain battery at some point.

@@muz1406 It will only drain the battery if you use the 'parking sensor' function I believe.
