- The Labour leader said there would be no 'quick fix' to the deep problems the party will inherit if it wins the next election, as he set out Labour's six election pledges at a launch event in Essex.

The six steps, which Starmer said would back Labour’s five national missions, were: to deliver economic stability, to cut NHS waiting times with 40,000 more appointments each week, to launch a new border security command, to set up Great British Energy - a publicly owned clean-power company, to crack down on antisocial behaviour and to recruit 6,500 new teachers

First step for him was scrapping all his pledges
😂
No that's the Tories 😂
Pledges are not promises are they
Why make promises when you can get into downing street no matter what. This is, after all, a two party state. You must admit, most politicians break promises once they are in power... but Sir Keir has pre-emptively broken all his promises before getting into downing street. He's quick off the mark!
Plastic Tony Blair.
Does it matter ? it's way better than we have now.
@@pureplay7071does labour have any plans to fix immigration and stop locking people up for false hate speech laws? No? Of course they wouldn't they would benefit from it
Blair showed us there was no difference whatever party was in power, I havn't voted since.
@@pureplay7071 What you actually think he's going to stick to any promise that he's made?
When will the penny drop? Year after year the same old nonsense, from all parties, and you still believe change will happen?
“Blair without the flair”! 😂
No-one knows quite when it first started but Starmer's announcement of all new pledges has become a yearly tradition...
More of renew.
😂👍
The whole jacket off, sleeves up thing is toe curlingly cringe.
But he took his tie off too! I'm convinced....
You think little Rishi and his lot are so much better? How do you think the country is doing after 14 years of 1 party rule?
@@NikoHL Certainly won't be doing better under Starmer's Red Tory Party either. But go ahead and vote the same bunch in again. One day you'll wise up about our political systems. (Hopefully)
hE’s a rEaL LiFE, cOMmON oR gARdEn, wOrKiNg mAn sOrT oF a gUY !!! 😂
As usual, he says a lot without really saying anything. And yet they all still clap. Any chance you might expand on how you plan to fix these things after identifying the bleeding obvious?
They all do the same. They've got no intention of fixing anything.
Yeah I was thinking this. He didn't actually say what he was going to do, just went around in circles
Any chance this was a 90 second edit, and there was more in the speech???
My jaw nearly dropped when he was about to say what his ambitions actually are.. But of course he never does. It's all just showmanship.
He spoke for about an hour this is a 90 second clip
At least he will only have to make 6 u-turns this time
Lies lies lies , in 10 years we will be saying the same about labour as we are about the conservatives now
Exactly. Meet the new boss, the same as the old boss.
It wont take 10 years
Uniparty
Exactly
Same snake different heads
Those are the most pathetic pledges ive ever seen from a Labour party. No chance we'll be voting for this Tory.
Tory B Old boy !

He is gonna press the magic growth button! We are all saved!!!
Did you vote for Brexit?
@@LondonPower Most certainly not, I am not a dumb racist. I just understand that you cannot grow an economy without investment, and we cannot sacrifice our future generations, and millions of lives for short term gain.
@@APAGwhat stops you investing in a country just because it's not in the EU anymore oh yea a retared government
If someone says growth is the answer, they’re lying and serving capital.
@@LondonPowerbecause everything was so much better under EU 😂
When he says change the party so it serves working people, he just means turn a workers' movement into another neoliberal party. As long as that ideology is backed it'll always be about money, not people.
And that was why I gave up even trying to help smaller party's get in they dont ever put in the leg work or time so this is whZt we always and will always get
Yep. Everything about corbyn was aimed at helping working people. He didn’t shut up about policies, and they all were aimed at helping working people. All we get from starmer is waffle and empty rhetoric. There’s nothing to vote for with him.
You need but one glance at the members of the labour party to know that it isn't merely the worker's party anymore. I'm hoping their turn in power will be the straw that broke the camels back
Funny, you don't like money, and you hope people don't like money too.
Same as it ever was
and as soon as he gets in power he will reneg on everything, its his nature.
"Look, when I said what I said, the country was in a completely different position; nobody could have guessed the unprecedented ..."
Not promising much is precisely what he's doing and that should be the scandal. He's setting it up so he won't have to reneg because the platform is already so uninspiring.
Jacket off sleeves rolled up,they will believe anything you say now 😂
I just made exactly the same comment without seeing yours first. 😂
Even the men in the audience wore jackets and ties. I don't like Mr Starmers laid back attitude. Dress down Friday is not the suitable attire for power play.
Vote Labour= get a Conservative Lite gvt
note even Lite!
WRONG! It will be a double whammy of CONS!
As a right wing voter, why do you people say that? There is absolutely nothing conservative about Starmer or his cronies. He's another neo liberal party under the guise of the worker's party.
@@jamieeddolls5605 Agreed, the Conservatives are not very conservative are they! The three main parties are all kind of hovering around this sort of neo-liberal consensus but I don’t think that’s actually what the British electorate are yearning for. It’s wrecking the country on so many levels.
You can see how power hungry he is...
He is just a surrogate of Mandleson and Blair
So... as all politicians basically.
This man will say anything to reach power and that makes him dangerous. I really hope he gets a small majority otherwise its Iraq all over again.
Labour is a very scary dangerous party
Blah, blah, blah. Whenever a politician speaks, all I hear is the sound of the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoons.
I hear Bill & Ben, with a dash of Alice from Popeye.
What a snake.
This clip doesn't tell anybody anything except that his words don't match his policies.
No thanks won’t be voting for either this lot or the tories….
Me neither

The greatest trick this new Labour ever pulled was convincing the people they weren't just red tories.
Wow! Keith rolls up his sleeves and does a ward round! The clapping seals look bored though.
This is the look of a man who has realised it’s a lot harder to deliver than it is to throw hand grenades from the opposition benches. And he’s about to find out just how weak and ineffectual his top team is. This should be fun to watch over the next few years.
Didn't Cameron promise the same in 2009?
The UK is finished, Labour or Tory, No saving It.
I left labour party because of his lies and as a Christian truth is essential
Lol exchanging one devil for another
I am very disappointed that Stamer has no real plan to back up the fancy words and no time line to deliver, just more of the same,a line of fancy empty promises, well we have had enough of the lies and empty promises, we don’t need more of the same, I moving towards reform the more I listen to Starmer.
Why do they always roll their sleeves up. It's so cringe lol

1. Spend, spend, spend via PFI like initiatives.
2. That money ultimately goes into housing, creating a 1997-2007 like bubble.
3. The bubble bursts, leaving the debts from current PFI, Brown's PFI, QE, and covid.
4. A new, but much worse version of Labour's 2008 Crash occurs.
5. A new Great Depression follows, as we won't be able to afford another 14yrs of QE to clear up the mess,
6. Mass unemployment on a 1930s like scale.

And, of course, the tories have been doing a great job. Where have you been for the last 15 years? Because, spoilers, it wasn’t labour that got us in this mess. Will they get us out? Under starmer, I doubt it. I suspect he’ll just actually run the country efficiently, but in the favour of the rich minority.
