Always amazed how much heavier folding bikes are vs normal ones. A ride1up roadster gravel is much lighter with more range and speed while being only 34 lbs. Unless folding is absolutely necessary as the number 1 priority, I don't see an advantage.
Me too! I’ve been trying to do the math on e-bike weight for a while, now that we’re getting deeper into them! Even without the battery they’re surprisingly heavy compared to conventional bikes! I hadn’t thought about non-folding vs folding though. I love the utility of being able to put them in the trunk, but it feels like materials and engineering could close the gap on weight. -Paul
@@ESG-ElectricScooterGuide yes sir, there are some carbon folding ebikes that are light but they are super pricey. The Carbo x folder is the lightest I am aware of but 29.9 lbs for $2k still only slightly lighter than the ride1up for almost double the cost... but if a folder
@21degrees to each thier own. To me that's no longer an ebike and a moped as pedaling something so heavy sucks. Also at that point they are usually over 750 watts so no longer an evike as they are too powerful. I like 500ish watt motors on light frames and max 2.25 inch tires that can actually be pedaled without power.
Thanks for the quick look at this - it covered all the important bases. I typically take a folding bike with on road trips - been wondering when an eBike upgrade might make sense. Two remaining questions: (1) when fully folded, is it really smaller than most 20" folders?, and (2) I am 6" tall, 250 lbs. Will that be a problem? Again, not riding this often, or for performance. Glad you are doing this work.
hey, i'm from Moldova and I want to buy an electric scooter. i want to buy a 40 mile range + scooter a.k.a a solar scooter from UK but the import tax is 600$ which is a lot to pay for tax. any electric scooter brands that you could recommend that can ship internationally with low tax and low shipping rates?
Seems like a great eBike for 2018 ?...LESS IS MORE...NOT! Love Big wheels, but not short wheelbase and I like my vehicle to weigh twice as much. Please do NO full review this one.
Loving all the content and the variations in types of vehicles.
Still wait on an electric penny farthing video though 😂
Yes to a full review please!!! Thanks Paul.
We will do our best!
This is sleek, neat and practical. Please do a review. Perfect for my country, Trinidad.
Will do our best!

There's an escooter called the joyor electric scooter and it is apparently only $700 and goes 31mph and I think you should review it
We are not big fans of Joyor brand!

i don't think this needs a review. but maybe you could test the Eleglide T1 Step-through or the ENGWE X20/X24/X26.
Interesting! Thanks
You guys should review the new dualtron storm limited new edition
Thanks for the suggestion! It might be a while before we get any new Dualtrons. We're working on it though. -Paul
So it's basically the Jetson bolt pro on roids lol
We have not tested that one yet!
