- We did a thing. Homemade raft from recycled materials. Pedal powered paddle wheel made from some throw out bicycles. Rafting for 8 days down the Clarence River in NSW, Australia. Amazing adventure, another trip of a lifetime.
Made it to the local paper:

The family that plays together stays together. I wish I had had parents like you guys.
Bless all your souls. Stay adventurous and keep posting videos of your explorations, please. Thank you all for posting. 🤙❤️🙂
Perhaps my kids wish they didn't (have parents like us!) hahaha
I can't put in words how much respect I'm paying to you guys for doing this on your own. It's a blessing to see you're building and using this with your kids. This sure is family goals 😁🙏
Our pleasure!
Oh my gosh! You guys are amazing parents! Such good memories to be creating as a family!

I LUV you man! I did these things with my family in the 50s and 60s . WOW you so remind me of my dad. Money is for food and shoes. Fun is for everyone with imagination and drive. Dern, we sure had fun.

Add some heavy duty casters on each corner might help when grounding :)

Looted like a good challenge with the shallow parts must of been tough and go there for awhile. Great effort :)
Yes, a couple of times we were down to about 4 inches of water in the riffles. Had to get everyone one off and skull drag one end at a time. There was probably about 600kg of weight fully loaded.
Great! I subscribed to your channel! I'm in shipbuilding
Awesome! Thank you!
Looks like tremendous fun and I'm jealous. :-) I have to ask...croc country?
The Clarence River is on the east coast of Australia. It was lots of fun.
Lovely lovely family moments there. But please tell me you at least caught and ate one fish...😁😁
멋지네요. That's wonderful!
Rubber on the side walls next time 👍🏽
How many people read Huckleberry Finn, and dream of drifting down a river? Here's a whole family living the dream of a modern day Mark Twain adventure. This is pure genius. Bravo!
One of our best holidays to be sure.
That looks like great fun.

It was about then I started thinkin' outboard motor.
Thanks for sharing your adventure with us!
No motors, taking the slow life ...
Как Вы боритесь с крокодилами ? Какое оружие используете ? Вы герои .
Крокодилы не живут в этой реке, но здесь обитают бычьи акулы
How did you guys attach the barrel to the raft frame.
And how efficient was the paddling system
The barrels are just secured with ropes but they poles are constructed to create "pockets" that cradle the barrel. The barrels would mostly stay in place without ropes. Paddling was definitely slow and very much affected by the direction of the wind. We averaged probably about 10km per day with a full day of paddling. I think our longest day was about 13km and shortest probably about 6 or 7km due to headwinds.
Cubans have already mastered this concept
Ahhh, but do you have the video?
Wow thats epic!
Австралия?)))
Yes, this is in Australia
@@junglejim7228 Тогда мы плывём к вам)))
I always feel a pang off regret that there aren’t longer sequences. I could have watched those final scenes for much longer.
Yeah, its always difficult having to make the hard edits. It's gotta be done though, else it's too long. Took way more photos and footage than can fit in a 10 minute video.
Great job
Big like 🙏👍
