I feel like the "My baby boy," is due in small part to the amount of callbacks to previous lines in the season. There's at least a couple call backs to "all these squares make a circle," between Popo, then with Cell making the arena. There's also the "eat that horse" and "funny thing is I know you're playing me" lines by Goku and Vegeta respectively. Then at the beginning of the arc when Trunks cuts up Mecha-Freeza, King Cold shouts out, "My baby boy," the same way Vegeta shouts it out at the finale. It's a sort of poetry, but I can see why it may not fit entirely with a character.
I feel like the baby boy bit works both as comedy but also, the present trunks IS his baby boy, literally. I know its not the one that cell puts a hole in like a punch card but its hard for them not to think like that especially spur of the moment. Bulma, albiet played as a joke, comments how the future one is still "just a baby" and I think it shows the similarities in Bulma and Vegeta which I like.
I think the bit at 12:40 should have earned him a Lawful Good, or at LEAST a Lawful Neutral. Even though he's struggling to understand the whole MILF/GILF thing, this IS a scene of Vegeta genuinely trying to show respect to their culture by using the appropriate title for an elder.
I thought it was confirmed that Vegeta was flatly stronger than Trunks after the time chamber and that the buff he used was something any of the super saiyans could do but chose not to due to the inherent debuffs of the transformation. Trunks ignorance of this only highlighted how inexperienced he was as a warrior when compared to his peers.
8:57 “Trunks and Cell abort Cell” … screw it, *Krillin Shillin happening now!* YOU DID NOT JUST DISRESPECT MY BOY LIKE THAT! REPLACING THE REAL MAIN CHARACTER WITH THE TWO-BIT REPLACEABLE VILLIAN OF THE ARC? SERIOUSLY?!
People forget these alignment videos (and alignment as a whole) are supposed to be character studies of the subject's moral choices corresponding to their current personality (alignment). These choices can shift their alignment and, thus their personality over time. Vegeta is a perfect example of this in action as he starts off as Neutral Evil and slowly shifts into Chaotic Good, and you can see his personality grow softer as his alignment changes. This doesn't absolve him of his past sins as he likely killed far more than he has saved, but you can see him grow into a better person. Thus, if an evil character who is malicious all of a sudden starts to become neutral over time means he has become more neutral as a character. DnD's alignment chart isn't a scale to judge a character's action, but rather an estimation of what this character's choices are likely to be morally. I eat crayons.
12:03 I like to think Vageta got at least a semi victory for the sheer fact that the Final Flash would've killed Cell if he didn't chicken out last second.
You know, Vegeta asking if he'll see Kakarot in the afterlife made me think of something: If Goku and Vegeta didn't come back to life by the end of the Buu Saga, do you think there is a timeline where they'd train together in the afterlife? Like, obviously Vegeta can't go to Heaven. But Goku can easily go straight to hell, literally. And what would stop them from say, escaping Hell and going to the Supreme Kai's world or King Kai's?
Neutrality is absolutely an alignment choice. AD&D specifically does list it as a third option rather than an in-between. It's either someone who strives to uphold a balance, or who actively chooses not to take a side. (To put it simply)
Vegeta in the manga while talking about Gohan's power with Nappa said having hybids to repopulate the Saiyans race was not in his interest as they could overpower him. I will say he was a virgin. Bulma wasn't a virgin. She and Yamcha was each other's first romantic relationship with them being off and on in the nearly 15 years off knowing each other.
You and I clearly disagree on whether behaving in pure self-interest without regard for how it impacts others is neutral or evil. I would have given Veggie a LOT more evil dings in the Abridged Cell Saga. Regardless, good video. These are a fun way to explore character development; the dings and where people end up is really just kind of an excuse for that.
Here's a good way I once saw the difference described: "Look out for number one" is a Neutral attitude. Evil looks out for number one while/by screwing over number two.
The dynamic between Gohan and Vegeta is interesting. In both Abridged and canon timelines, he has a lot of respect for Gohan, but he really doesn't like the fact that Gohan let himself go in the time between Cell and Buu. He has the respect for him, because he's been jumping in on every major problem since he was five. Not just jumping in, but also making a difference. His potential was proven to be off the charts, and Vegeta really wanted to see where that could lead. Even near the end of Super, when Gohan let himself fall behind... again... like, three more times... He still acknowledged him as one of the strongest in the universe, and even tried to follow his strategy for the Tournament of Power for like, five minutes.
Pretty surprised Vegeta didn't get a ding for straight up abandoning Bulma and Trunks, sure she's loaded so it won't effect her much if at all, but it's still horrible.

If you're doing Super, you should definitely cover the manga arcs as well. They really go into Vegeta's redemption for his past deeds in the Granolah arc.
I don't know how feasible this would be, but at the end of videos maybe you could show the progression of the character icon moving through the alignment compass while you give your final thoughts, to show all at once the journey they went on. The video explains exactly which actions leads to which alignment swings, but once the journey has been explained watching all of the moves one after the other as a meandering path of character development.
nice outro: btw one of the cannonical dnd redemption requirements (specifically for the afterlife in which you go to heaven, this applies to both mortals and fallen angles) is to do 7 times as much good as the evil you have done in life... which for vegeta is a hard no

D&D alignment not necessarily aligning with where you end up when you die seems agreed upon in Dimension 20's Unsleeping City, particularly with Kugrash (aka Rat Jesus). [Spoilers for this BTW]. I would say he is neutral good throughout the campaign itself and the majority of the time he spent as a rat as he looked out for and took care of the homeless. However, because of his actions as a human where he cheated a countless number of people out of their life savings and worldly possessions, including at least one good friend of his (the one that turned him into a rat when the betrayal hit her), he was still on Santa's naughty list up until the very end of the campaign. In the lore of this setting Santa's naughty list is shared by Saint Peter and the devil meaning that it determines whether someone goes to Heaven or Hell, and it was his sacrifice at the end of the campaign that put him on the nice list (though because of the nature of how he sacrificed himself, not actually dying but instead having his mind and body spread throughout the infinity of the universe he still wouldn't actually be able to go to Heaven something he was aware of when he made his choice).
I would have also given Veggie a lawful good in the final flash too. He easily could have aimed it at the planet and take more of Cell with it, he actively aims it away from the planet tho, which is progress for Veggie
I think that while yes, the “My baby boy” line is corny, Vegeta snapped and revealed that he does indeed care. And when people snap, it can be incredibly difficult to express themselves and how they actually feel, like crying despite not feeling sad. In other words, “I think your rage broke, Vegeta.” It contrasts nicely with him later referring to Trunks and Bulma as his stuff and getting annoyed with Mr. Satan. It shows that he’s still not comfortable admitting how much he actually cares though getting annoyed with Mr. Satan shows that deep down, he does… in his own way

Yeah, honestly I'd agree that as a character he's pretty much a perfect Chaotic Neutral, redeemed from Chaotic Evil. The rules don't mean jack to him, all that matters is himself, getting and keeping what he values, and gaining and proving his superiority. He initially was very much evil, loving to torture and destroy just to show he can, but he has mellowed out and overall is more focused on just getting people to recognize his superiority. Definitely nothing lawful in him, but the constant fight between evil and good impulses is strong enough that neutral seems the way to go. Don't take the nay-sayers too seriously. Part of the Gen-Z mentality of Lack of Accountability. Many think you can be a selfish or cruel person your entire life, preform an altruistic act or two and you're automatically redeemed as a good individual.
