      aarswft what do you mean rewrite? The Clone Wars came out years before The Mandalorian. If you’re referring to the EU then I totally disagree. The idea of their society and culture being made up of multiple species is stupid, especially considering how their society is made up of clans. The canon version first introduced in The Clone Wars makes a lot more sense. And considering that TCW and Rebels are canon, The Mandalorian has a lot of plot holes that need to be resolved aka “The Way”.

    The reason they call him MANDO is because he is a Mandalorian. It’s not his actual name lol.

    • @BaronVonHoovy
      @BaronVonHoovy 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      To add onto that, so that she understands - the style of armor they wear is distinctive, which is why they assume he's a Mandalorian at first glance. IIRC, even Obi-wan assumed Jango Fett was a Mandalorian because of his armor, but in The Clone Wars, a high-ranking Mandalorian official denies it, claiming Fett was just a common bounty hunter who got his hands on a set of their armor somehow.
      (In the expanded universe, prior to that episode, he *was* a Mandalorian, but George Lucas decided to change that.)

    • @captaincoolbreeze9429
      @captaincoolbreeze9429 4 ปีที่แล้ว +10

      @@BaronVonHoovy To be quite honest, Almec was a corrupt politician who sought to keep the peaceful Mandalore image intact. In my opinion, Jango is a Mandalorian by birth, since he purportedly was born on Concord Dawn which was a Mandalorian colony, and to a lesser degree by creed. Boba, being a clone raised as the son of Jango, is not really a Mandalorian due to him being both a clone and only briefly taught by Jango while others such as Aurra Sing and maybe even Cade Bane taught him how to be a ruthless bounty hunter. Boba's armor was also scavenged and pieced together, possibly in memory of the armor his father had worn.

    • @altoid1804
      @altoid1804 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Another interesting facet about the "Mando" nickname given to the character potentially comes from the world of Westerns from which The Mandalorian takes a lot of influence. Clint Eastwood's stoic poncho-wearing "Man With No Name" gunslinger in Sergio Leone's landmark "Dollars Trilogy" of spaghetti western films is named "Manco" in the second film of the trilogy, "For a Few Dollars More" (my personal favorite of the three). Eastwood's character has a different name in each film in the trilogy, with "Joe" being his name in "A Fistful of Dollars," and as "Blondie" in "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly."
      Now, I'm not actually sure whether or not The Mandalorian's showrunners and writers used "Mando" as an intentional reference to Eastwood's "Manco" - but it wouldn't surprise me at all if it were true.

      @@NatalieGoldReacts here's a recommendation u Should watch star wars the clone wars..... It's a better prequel than the prequel movies in my opinion..... Also granted there's about 133 Episodes I believe..... But still worth it if you can't watch all the ones I really recommend are..... and here they are in order
      The first three episodes in season 2 plus the last episode in season 1
      Season 2 Episodes 5 and 6 and 7 and 8 (warning this arc does get a bit creepy it introduces zombies into the star wars universe)
      The mandalorian arc.... There's three episodes in season 2 that introduce the mandalorians, Episodes 12 13 and 14
      Boba Fett's revenge.... Is a four-part story arc in season 2 ..... There the last 4 Episodes
      The night sister trilogy it is a great arc ...in my opinion and worth the watch, Episodes 12 13 and 14
      Season 4 Episodes 15 16 and 17
      The citadel trilogy... It's a really good three-part arc in season 3, Episodes 18 19 and 20
      The first four episodes of season 4... The first three is an arc .. the fourth episode is a stand-alone episode
      The umbara arc..... Episodes 7 8 9 and 10
      The last 4 Episodes in season 4 great story arc... Get ready for one of the most shocking moments you will see in this show and in Star wars history in my opinion
      Season 5 Episodes 1 and 2 and 14 and 15 and 16...great story arcs
      Ashoka on the run story arc.... Episode 17 18 19 and 20
      The clone conspiracy arc, Episodes 1 2 3 and 4
      the first four episodes in season 7 and the last four episodes in season 7 my God the last four are worth it trust me.... All those arcs I just told you are worth the watch do watch them in order though... What if you want to watch all a hundred and thirty-three episodes then be my guest... but if you want to review the canal more show I would recommend that reviewing those arcs... If you're worried about missing out on a few things you shouldn't this show is an anthology series meaning not every episode is an order for instance there was a clone wars movie that comes before the show then there's this episode and season one called the hidden enemy and the story is there is a clone amongst the clones that's a trailer and they must find him.. and guess when in the timeline this episode takes place right before the events of the movie you see what I mean episodes are very much out of order....

      @@NatalieGoldReacts also if you like horror movies I do recommend you should review scary stories to tell in the dark it is a recent horror movie that came out last year and my God it's really good for PG-13 horror film it doesn't rely on sheep jump-scares it relies on the old methods of horror.. also no Gore.. because those two ways are a cheap way to get people to be scared.... also if you have read the books you would know what this movie is loosely based off of if you haven't I recommend you should look up scary stories to tell in the dark books... Trust me the illustrations are nightmare fuel.... and keep in mind these three books are for kids kids I tell u....

    The species of Yoda has never been named; so everyone refers to this baby as Baby Yoda because no one knows what else to call it. Sure, of course, it is not Yoda. We don't know where it came from. We can only guess: it could be a clone of Yoda, or simply a youngling of the same species. I'm sure we'll all learn more at some point. (So...don't feel uncomfortable calling it Baby Yoda. Everyone calls it Baby Yoda, even though it is not Yoda).

      @@danilooliveira6580 canon explanation I believe is that a lot of its unity came from Palpatine using the Force to sort of persuade and motivate them to work together, soon as he died it was every Moff for himself and it dissolved in a bunch of separate small domains.
      Even without the Force shenanigans, there are real life examples of stuff like this happening. Alexander the Great's empire crumbled at record speed after his death. He was the one charismatic figure keeping it together, without him the succession wars ripped it to pieces. It doesn't help that empires on the scale of the galaxy must be really hard to centralise. Travel from one end of the Empire to the other takes weeks in Star Wars, months maybe, so it's a lot more like ancient empires than modern states. There would have to be a lot of autonomy for the peripheral territories. When Rome fell, too, most of its territories just kind of had to start fending for themselves.

    So some general Mandalorian background info that can help understanding of the story. Mandalorians were a warrior race that once fought the Jedi, kinda space Spartans. They are known for their armor, jetpacks, and certain weaponry. They are considered very skilled warriors throughout the galaxy but at a certain point the mandalorian people as a whole discontinued the warrior culture in favor of more pacifist ideals. Some mandalorians didnt like that and continued the warriors way. One of the factions that did that was called Death Watch which is important for if you watch Clone Wars. Jango and Boba Fett wore Mandalorian armor. Whether or not the Fetts and by extention the Clone army were themselves Mandalorians is up for debate. Old Legends Canon they were, New Disney canon has yet to confirm anything.

I adore the Knights of the old republic style throughout its great has that Star Wars retro look to it but also feels like it’s own thing Mandaloren Neo Crusaders are one of my favourite eras of Mandaloren armours the Republic ships and armours looks amazing and the Sith fleets and Armors are great along with the countless planets with their own cultural styles it all felts into Star Wars. You won’t learn what a Mandalorian is in this series, as it makes the assumption you know what it is to begin with. It’s explained in the Clone Wars TV series or the non-canon expanded universe books and comics. Basically, Mandalorians are people from the planet of Mandalor who specialise in bounty hunter work. Anybody can be a Mandalorian if they gain the respect of the Mandalorians and don their armour.

    • @arthurballs7083
      @arthurballs7083 4 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Not true; highly misleading. This show doesn't "assume" the viewer knows anything about Mandalorians. Whilst we may not be given chapter + verse on their enormous history, we are provided with sufficient information for the story to progress.

  • @Slashycent

    Yess. I've been looking forward to this.
    Some more context:
    The Mandalorians are an age old tribe of warriors that have even waged war against the Jedi at some point way in the past (there are no movies or series about that war, it's just mentioned and referenced).
    The "first" and most famous Mandalorian to appear in the movies was Boba Fett, though George Lucas later clarified that both him and his father Jango aren't _proper_ Mandos for some reason and have merely appropriated the culture. Whatever lol.
    You learn more about them and their home planet Mandalore during The Clone Wars TV series. Lots of things go down there.
    Nowadays they're in hiding, that's why they're underground. The series mentions what caused that.
    Even though Jango, Boba and our new Mando friend are all bounty hunters, not every Mandalorian has that profession. They're just warriors so that's why bounty hunting is up their alley.
    "The guild" is an autonomous bounty hunter guild and has nothing to do with the Mandalorian tribe aside from the fact that our specific Mando works there.
    It's perfectly fine to call it Baby Yoda as long as you're aware that that's not to be taken literally (which you already are :D) since Yoda is already dead at that point. Rip, green friend. 99% of the people call it Baby Yoda anyway so nothing wrong with joining them. The official name is simply "the child". It's an infant of Yoda's species but since said species has no official name they simply settled for "the child" haha.
    I'm pumped for Episode 2, keep it up ^^.

    It doesn't really surprise me how much emotion they can convey even without showing his face because I've watched Red vs Blue. It's pretty old, older than TH-cam, and it was made by a group of friends playing Halo. The footage was filmed in game so it starts out rough and gets better as newer games came out and the same goes for the audio because they where just friends doing it for fun, not professionals, but the characters are _so_ good! They are super funny and I love the concept of just starting a custom game in a video game and giving a voice to the characters. Anyway, in Halo, the character you control in multiplayer all wear armor so you can't see their face but they have _so much_ personality anyway! I love that show.

I think one of the absolute coolest thing about this series is that it was 100% filmed inside a single soundstage WITHOUT green screen.
