I dont comment on social media outlets as a rule, but I had to break protocol in this particular case. I use to play music years ago, and spent most of my time on the road as a result of such. We've all seen the running joe thing, where the front man stands at the mic and yells into a screaming crowd and says " How ya doing El Paso ?!?!?! " ... when ur actually standing on a stage in good ole Abilene... funny yes, until you have someone walk up to you, tug on ur arm, and remind you where you what part of the lone star state , ur actually in.. trust me, i should know. Now, getting back to my point to begin with. Im not here to " drop " names , but ive had the good fortune to share the stage with some very prominent people in the business, over the years. Or country music stars , if you will. Its a brutal business, but id like to think i know what im talking about. To some extent, anyway lol. Sam has a great voice... he knows his range, and dont try to do anything thats gonna put him in a bind, so to speak. I really like and appreciate that. Most IMHO , not only will push their range , but do it for the very first time, ON STAGE of all places, and when reality slaps them in the face in the form of some negative feedback, then suddenly they ( whoever gave it to them) dont know what their talking about. I really appreciate the sound that Sam gets and plays... it sounds alot to me, idk... kinda take me back to the older type of country. But more " west coast " sound to it , which i soooooo love and miss. Theres no crazyyyyy over played drums all through his songs... not a ton of over played lead guitar or steel... and what is played, is played with taste... beautiful taste, i might add... this song is a perfect example, that the " mind of the music " is still out there, its just not being put together much anymore. Lets thank the Good Lord for people like Sam , that as long as their around, true and pure country from the heart, is still here... remember everyone, this book ( lol ) is just MHO . THX ALL... especially to you Sam..tyvm
