This is a great concept for an Easter egg too! The hinge would be a little hard to pull off but I know you can do it! Basically the same design as the bell but with a rounded cap at the end. You could use it for the big prize at hunts. Not necessarily to win the egg but if you turn it in then you get a “table” prize. Thought I’d share!
I recently bought the tooling to produce quarter bells from Legacy Brand and have thoroughly enjoyed making my first few bells! After the first one, and realizing that when I drilled the hole after doming that it wasn’t centered, I started drilling the hole after the original anneal, but before doming. Using a center finder, I can hit it spot on and drill it on my drill press! I’ve had no problems doming the tops when they’re predrilled in this manner! Thanks for a great video!
Fantastic doorbell, and pretty nice tool also🤗😄 Whish I could afford some of Jasons tools 😩 Why don't you hang it inside, above the door, and fix it so every time the door opens or closes the bell chime's. Like every shop had in the old days 😁 that way you will probably keep it goes a long time 😄🐾🇩🇰
I agree with you about the silvers being outside but it is what it is ! How about trying with something cheaper like common quarters ! Lol. I thought about doming one and making the rest on my lathe out of brass or bronze or even aluminum might look nice with a pattern on it !
Dude!!!! That’s really nice. Best channel in this genre on TH-cam!! Going off one of the other commenters. I could totally see a Faberge type egg. With all the stone setting you have been doing. Could be really spectacular!
Really nice. I made one with 3 quarters, turned out quite dorky looking.. but I think I'll revisit it. I liked the way the bottom was shaped inward. Unfortunately I flared mine out and it doesn't look right. Peace
Love the videos, but I have a question about heating up the coins. I don't have the ability to really use a propane torch either inside or outside of where I live. Do you have an recommendations as one can heat up a coin without using one? Thanks!
Hello, if the coin is not silver, may be is just acopper nickel how to clean the welding marks ?use pickling the thing turns black so Is there a good pickling formula?
Could you list the products you used? What the name of the pickle is, what the name of the liver of sulfur is and what kind of solder did you use? Thanks
Sweet little bell. I know it's been about a year since you made it. First, do you still have it? second, did you modify the setup in any way? I ask the second question because the twine you use will have a dampening effect on the ringing. Wire, chain, or fishing line would be way better for the sound. Keeping the bell inside is not too hard to set up. Because commercial doors swing to the exit of a building, you can rig up an arm extension on the inside of the door that will catch the weight that hangs off of the clacker when the door opens and closes, while at the same time, does not interfere with the operation of the door. A light, plastic arm of some sort, could be adhered on so you don't do any damage to the door. Interesting a beautiful work you do. I subbed to hopefully see more. All the best from Alberta, Canada.
I actually moved and it’s in a drawer. As soon as I get my new shop finished it’s going back up. Honestly it’s more of a decoration than anything else but I’m thinking you are right about the twine. That I’m going to change for sure :)
Skyler, the bell is beautiful, love it. I was wondering if you could design a essential oil diffuser that could be worn on a chain? I’ve been looking at them and most look cheap. Something designed by you would be amazing.
It's only because the jewelry studio I've been working at in Portland has a jewelry supply 2 floors below us and its really convenient to just buy my supplies there instead of having them shipped and that is what he carries.
I have a question. Why are you quenching the copper ? Im not saying anything is wrong by any means im just curious. Would it not be softer if you let it cool naturally ? Or does it not matter with copper? Awesome project btw it looks great!
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint right on so non ferrous metals aren't affected by the quenching. Thanks for taking the time to reply I was very curious cause I do allot of metal work but it's all ferrous metals
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint some stores I've been to has a bell by the door that opens inward so the customer comes in and automatically rings, but now I can't remember it. Last time I saw one
I was going to make something else with it. But I actually alloyed it to Sterling and cast it into a double ring :) It most likely will be my next video.
You know you could put a cord outside with a fancy handle that your visitors can pull...which rings the bell inside the shop. Just a thought. 2 years late. :D
I thought the same thing!!! A Fabergé egg type situation would be really cool!!! With all the stone setting he’s been working on. I bet he could come up with something really spectacular!!
I enjoy your channel and the value that it has given to my experience of investing in precious metals. In case you haven't collaborated with them yet, I would suggest trying to collaborate with Yankee Stacking, BigstackD, MooseScrapper, SalivateMetal, Spegtacular, or International Stacker. I consider this channel a best kept secret of mine, however I know it is wrong to keep this content from the masses. Keep up the good work, even if you end up not doing it I will continue to support your channel! Stay well and God bless you!
Lol 😭😂😂😂, that crew who stacks , they are in another level , but not compare to the crew , who collects precious rounds , there is so much drama , always whining about the rise of silver 😂😂😂
Whats crazy is i first started watching your videos years ago, I didnt know untill i seen the video where you went into g.w and harbor freight. When u pulled into the parking lot i thought hmm that looks familiar! Awesome!
In my continuing effort to drive you insane with questions, I present this: In most of the jewelry making YT videos, they use a pickle solution that’s heated in a mini crock pot, and most of them mention the noxious vapors produced by that method. In your videos, I see you using a solution in a glass cup or Mason jar, and not heated. What are you using, and is it less of a health risk than the heated crock pot concoction? This is a subject that I don’t see covered on the coin ring channels, but I’m very interested in getting some facts on the options and efficacy of each. And who better to look to for knowledge than you! Help???
Suggestion: Hang it hire, above 6' 3" and extend the cable down to the bell (make it longer). What ya got there is a personal injury law suit just begging for a jury !!
This is just waiting to be stolen off of their porch. I would definitely leave this inside, some people know valuable things when they see them, and will take them if given the opportunity
I just love your craftsmanship! thanks for sharing!

Oh wow I never thought about it like that! This might need to happen :)
With what they look like. You could totally do it!!! You have the skills and the knowledge and the tools. If anyone could do it it’s you.

Really nice idea and work. Looks and sounds great. Thank you for sharing. 👍

I have missed the videos!! The bell looks great, the bell tool you have there look great, nice to see tools evolve

I can see salt/pepper shakers and a hollow ball bell with a silver striker inside.
I’m trying to fill my Monster Box and you’re just punching holes in perfectly good ASE’s 😭. Seriously though, this is really cool. Thanks for sharing!
I'm just curious, why do you hand punch the coins instead of using the press?
The punch doesn't fit in the press.
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint Good enough reason for me!
Skyler, the bell is beautiful, love it.

Sure! Contact me through my website www.changeyoucanwear.net and we can figure something out.
Make a cheap one for outside and take that one and hang it inside above the door when it opens the door hits the bell and ring it
Boom. Everybody wins.
Very cool man. Looks very old fashioned like. Hope you are doing good man. Dont know why I missed this video but I saw it today 😁👍

Do ya think ya could make a thimble out of a quarter or half dollar
Christmas tree 🎄 bells ~ from song: “Silver Bells”!!
so cute a door bell🤣👍👍🥰
Why did you switch from XL gel to Grobet?
It's only because the jewelry studio I've been working at in Portland has a jewelry supply 2 floors below us and its really convenient to just buy my supplies there instead of having them shipped and that is what he carries.
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint Okay, for me, the XL gel is more convenient since I live in Canada and ordering from Amazon is the easiest I could find.
Awsome work as always. What is next to try a bracelet for the wrist from coins.
I have a question. Why are you quenching the copper ? Im not saying anything is wrong by any means im just curious. Would it not be softer if you let it cool naturally ? Or does it not matter with copper? Awesome project btw it looks great!
Copper, gold and silver are unaffected by quenching. Metals that have iron in them are hardened when quenched. It is a great question!
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint right on so non ferrous metals aren't affected by the quenching. Thanks for taking the time to reply I was very curious cause I do allot of metal work but it's all ferrous metals
Jason works website not pulling up 😞
www.Jasons.works I just tried it and it works
In my head it was going to be hit by the door when you open close it, I tried to figure out how you going to do that with this design 🙂
It was just going to b next to the door but above it might be a good idea!
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint some stores I've been to has a bell by the door that opens inward so the customer comes in and automatically rings, but now I can't remember it. Last time I saw one
Looking good
Question: Is it still on the porch or has someone stole it by now? Just curious.
I actually moved about a year after this video and it was safe until I took it down :)
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint Dang you are lucky. So many porch pirates these days.
Beautiful!
What about using the one that started to split and make a miniature Liberty Bell. Always enjoy watching you make usable things that look awesome!!

look good as car gear knob
Hey man, when is your next coin ring competition?
Please tell me the name of your drilling machine?
It is a foredom flexshaft.
@@CoinRingsfromTheMint Thank you.
Could have done a cat type bell 2 half domes with a coin inside ..
Well, there's a camera so you can see when it walks off! Cool project! Be safe . Beach, NC
The part should be smaller and more in side then outside
nice weekend
Heavy fishing line is nicer, using swivel with or without hook.
Nice job.Next project a silver coin egg :)
I thought the same thing!!! A Fabergé egg type situation would be really cool!!! With all the stone setting he’s been working on. I bet he could come up with something really spectacular!!
Different, I’m not wild about using actual coins for the bell, but 2020 was a shit storm… what would a bell like that cost?
It would be about $500
Should have hung it inside over the door so when it opens. The only other thing you could have done is used a better thread and used some fancy knots.
Your crack could be a mini Liberty Bell😀
Cool video, but over 10 commercials. I understand monetizing videos, but, dang!
