i mean, at the very least environments and visuals do it justice. i could recognise every single area and they have shown a lot of them. character designs are a bit of a mixed bag, but has a lot of winners. im more worried about it being unreal engine (and hence optimisation issues and notorious stuttering), and whether the new additions will fit the game.
@@SavingPrivateBob The reason modern day UI's are so handholdy is because it's proven to help reign in new players and retain returning players better than a minimal UI where you have to figure everything out. Doesn't matter if you hate it, as long as it works, companies will do it.
Just noticed a small error: 06:01 is most likely the view from behind Asghan in the bottom area of the old mine (area before the crawlers), not the entrance. Also 08:01 shows a goblin, not an Orc
@@janoskasza3091 the original are the cloister ruins where you transform into a meatbug to get through the gate. We see the transformation scene in the remake trailer and we also see the inside of that place through the gate at that time, it's the same place(they changed it to look more like the cloister from gothic 2).

Also the intro of the original was an in-engine-rendered cinematic that was heavily polished, not a direct in-game-cutscene like in the Remake trailer, so it's an unfair comparison. The actual Remake intro will surely be much better.
Main characters look great! Environment also beautiful, but not sure about goblins and orcs(i know here a messed up footage at the 8:01. But I'm not about that. Not horrible, but idk). I'm feel calm now, it's not weird as a "Playble Teaser" and already enough for me to "pass". Maybe in actual gameplay by myself - it's gonna be even better.

Hmmm... the red roofs have disappeared somewhere in the old camp. But that is their main color, their distinguishing feature. The swamp dwellers were perceived as green, the new camp as blue, and the old one as red. P.S. The sky also became completely different, not so atmospheric.
i also really dislike the slap on job of just adding a filter instead of changing the colour pallete. due to filters fibrant colour become muddy and gray unlike in the original. the new camp is way to orange and isnt its iconic blue. the old camp is way to blue and muddy. the swamp camp is missing its ore lamps. the animals fail completely trying to look recogniseable. the swamp camp people are missing their tatoos and everyone has the smae bodybuild making gorn look too skinny. many errors though atleast it is better than the playbale teaser in every way. i do not like that they made the scavanger into another dinosaur when there are already 4 present.

I dont know how good it is regarding gameplay aspect of the game , BUT HOLY SHIT they NAILED visual and artistic style of ur belowed good old old Gothic !!!
I think it looks great, but I would like if the faces wouldnt look so polished. the original looks more rough and you easily believe that a lot of the characters are criminals or had some hardships behind them. 8:24
A criminal is not someone who looks like a criminal, but someone who commits crimes. Literally. do not judge a book strictly by its cover, the content may be completely different. The same applies to people. Only a fool puts labels on everyone, guided in his judgments by the appearance of a person.

I don't understand why for example the front gate of the castle is stripped of it's colorful banners and the clear ground looks like someone dragged a broken caravan over it.
because the devs decided a lazy slap on fix using a gray filter is better than redoing the graphics of the game (personally thay should have just gotten modders from gothic that make textures do them since they somewhat know what they do. or atleast be close in color as the original, yet since they try to mix muddy brown washed out colours with intense brightness making everything look horrible instead of as should be its like mixing the atmosphere of multiple games into one instead of focusing on the game their remaking.

@1:16 I love how the layout is so close to the original. This remake looks so fkin good. I’m so glad they listened to the fans and went back to the drawing board. Totally worth the delay and wait. This will be GOTY when it hits. Gothic is one of the greatest games of all time, hands down. Even by today’s standards, it still holds its own. Go play it and find out!
@@RicochetForceI disagree. UE games do often look similar, even if the art style is different. The engine has a certain vibe. Same goes for other engines like Cry engine (I usually love the vibe).
@@RicochetForce I probably own around 200 indie adventures that use UE4. I know visual depends on art director. But it also seems to depend on game engine. Old Electronic Arts titles are also similar to Battlefield in visual.
@@RicochetForce It's only cust-cutting all titles will look the same as it uses same presets under the hood. No matter what and if you want make everything bespoke it won't be cheap and comparable to writing whole thing by yourself the magic of gothic / witcher series was the fact that they wrote their own engine and made things their own way. Which still is great to this day.
Perfect. Now let's hope they add a nice combat system and don't mess up the audio/localisation. I think something in the veins of Dark Souls would be nice, but without the silly rolling around. Optional Lock-On targeting, nothing too fancy ... maybe? Thanks for the comparison! Hype is real! :)
Why is original so perfect? I am looking it now ,this remake cannot be better ,its really looking perfect and imersive,but why nothing can impersonate that dark atmosphere,and colors from the original i really cant tell 🤔?
Hey. Why did you turn off the LODs and effects in some shots? The swamp camp wasnt lit at night in your shots and there were no trees visibile around the old camp either. 😢

I played all the games until 3 including all expansions, but when it turned into something else I quit playing the risen or whatever that games are. Gothic is one of my favorite games of all time
Same here man. This was my first 3rd person open world rpg that I played ,and since then,I alvays look for similar games to play only. But none can match original gothic 1 ,and 2. Maybe first Risen,only.
@@Karadjordje-rb9ms Risen 3 is really good and I consider it almost as good as the first one, it's genuinely amazing how they've done it. Sadly it's their last great game imo
@@Crazey yeah risen 3 was also a good one. I gave a chance to elex too,you can see in gameplay that it is a Piranha bytes game,but I dont like that sci fi environment and story.

looks good for the most part, i appreciate they've changed the scale of things to be more realistic, this is such a common problem with older 3D games where everything is very scaled down, never really understood why, its not a polygon issue.. Not a huge fan of the trees and the flora/ground cover they've shown, but maybe it'll improve (super important for graphics/immersion overall since it will be noticeable in many places of the game). If someone said this is UE 5 i would've been a bit sceptical if i didn't know what engine it was (since it can look absolutely mindblowing), but whatever, it still such an immense upgrade from the original graphics and graphics alone didn't make the first game what it was either. I just hope they nail the combat! I sometimes think they're looking a bit TOO much at the original. For example, Diego stands out in comparison to the other characters, he looks a bit too cartoonish while the other characters does not. Things needs to look consistent.
im pretty sure diego looked different to everyone else in the og too. since lester and everoyne else important all stand out and are able to be recognised as who they were in the og. in my opinion they're way off from the original (the scavanger especially that thing is horrendous since we already have 4 dinosaurs and scavangers are the only birld like enemy in the entire game)
@@hgtugdz2579 that's not what i said though, of course the characters should look different but some can't look very realistic and some almost cartoonish, then its not consistent. yeah the scavenger could look a bit better or more bird like, i agree. these are all minor quibbles though.
@@Vurt72 yes i can agree these are smaller problems, yet i still think remodeling the creatures would be a good idea (scavanger and what i think is the razor since it looks like the 89 godzilla) and also the lighting in the camps should be different and highlight the camps iconic colour which in the trailer they fail at the new and old camp. the swamp camps only complain is no tattoos and ore lamps.
@@Retro-Design-4033 kinda does since the design unlike the original isnt made out of mined cave and some carved stone but the one in the trailer is something you would see in more modern temples like rome or even newer
@@crestofhonor2349 now that i think of it your right. yet i was talking about how in gothic most buildings dont look too special or modern such as the castle. and now they made the ork buildings look more advanced than the ones of humans. those ork structures look like something i'd find in an amusment part today or some sort of artwork and not something like that. personally i'd like it to be out of stone or something that fits the orks more than something that looks like it was poured with cement.
@@hgtugdz2579 Wood building were far more common of the time than stone. Of course these are video games and they're not trying to be historically accurate to the time. There is a lot wrong a lot of fantasy games get about medieval or gothic architecture
It is probably a special Orc type, maybe a sort of mini boss or templar orc? Also if the orc were able to build the sleeper temple it couldnt be too hard to have some sort armor like that for a few special orcs. But I agree if you will find many orcs like this it wouldnt make sense
if they don.t put back the pillars with glowing ores back in the sect camp , the wholse sect camp will be fucked,,,,in the night was that bluish collor from the lumps of ores...now it.s simple candles...why it looks ridiculous.
Muszę przyznać, że przełożenie Śniący na The Sleeper jakoś mi zgrzyta - to przecież Śniący, nie Śpiący. Zrobiłabym z tego chyba The Dreaming One? Chociaż w sumie, to zależy, jak dokładnie brzmiał niemiecki oryginał... Ryje orków też bardziej goblinie niż orkowe, mam wrażenie. Ale tak ogólnie? Łezka się w oku kręci. Naprawdę wygląd rimejku zrobił na mnie wrażenie. Patrząc na stare i nowe lokacje obok siebie naprawdę ma się wrażenie, że... wreszcie udało się osiągnąć wizję oryginalnych autorów. Że tak to wyglądało w wyobraźni twórców i graczy. Mocna dawka nostalgii.
This is fire, only thing that characters doesnt look the same. I mean diego and Xardas looks actually good. But our Bezi and Drax doesnt feel the same Cant wait tho
0:58 Loss and desolation vs pick the holiday's resort. Gothic was not great because of graphic so focusing on that for a remake... we'll see. The teaser, on the other hand, shows a complete different game as a mockery of original.
The Orcs were different. The marsh grass did not sparkle.😢 A lot of soap in the landscapes, no vibes of autumn, animation curves.😢 What will be the character's progression?

Graphical fidelity is good but I feel like much of the style or Gothic aesthetic is diminished. This is a common problem with modern graphics and I think developers need to solve it as most modern games just look the same. This looks like Resident Evil 4 remake. It also looks like Dragon's Dogma 2. Barely any aesthetic or art direction.
looks good for the most part, but I hope they put some work into making those npcs faces look less atrocious I also hope they make intro from scratch because intro scenes in this look worse than the original
as well as like in the og have the camera further away instead of the usual zoom in we see in every other game that has dialog. since then facial features become less visible and errors while in dialog are less noticable. the wildlife should be redone fully. unoriginal or just not fitting in the slightest (scavangers)
Diego wcale nie jest podobny.. Hmm może dlatego, że ten w oryginale ma niebieskie oczy.. Ten oryginalny wygląda mroczniej.. prawdziwy zakapior.. a nie taki wujek..
I would like to take a look at the ancient armor made of ore and urizel + the design of Baron Scar, I also wonder what the armor of paladins and dragon hunters will look like in the second part in the future
Dzięki za film ! Jak dla mnie,to lokacje wyglądają solidnie.Martwią mnie za to twarze NPC,które wyglądają jak z Wiedźmina 2 oraz animacja chodzenia - sztywno to wygląda.Dodatkowo przy fragmencie gdzie Bezimienny idzie z Diego do Starego Obozu wygląda jakby byli przyklejeni do płaskiego podłoża.
Muchos se quejaron de que el juego debia tener una ambientacion oscura, ya que el ambiente colorido no representaba a la saga Gothic, cuando eso es algo totalmente falso. Gothic siempre tuvo ambientes coloridos en lugares "normales," como el Valle de las Minas en Gothic 1 (antes de que este fuera destruido), el Valle de Khorinis, y el Valle de Jharkendar en Gothic 2, mas la isla de Archolos en Chronicles Of Myrtana, y el continente del Gothic 3, donde todo se veia muy colorido, por lo que esa afirmacion de que siempre fue oscuro, es falsa. Solo los lugares peligrosos son "oscuros", como el Cementerio Orco, el Templo de Krushak, la Zona Orca del Valle de las Minas, la Fortaleza en Ruinas y el Faro de Niebla de Gothic 1, como tambien el destruido Valle de las Minas, el Templo de Irdorath de Gothic 2, mas la zona de las Alcantarillas, los Cementerios y las Ruinas de Vardhal de Chronicles of Myrtana. This is not the Intro in the beginning. Just almost the same frames. This is not how the Intro will look like in the game.

8:02: This is not correct. Those are the new goblins, not orcs. And in the scene before, we had orc elites guarding the Temple of the Sleeper.
Weren't the elites introduced in Gothic 2?
It became beautiful. But visual is similar to Unreal engine 4 games. I'm a bit tired of seeing looking UE games.

No matter what and if you want make everything bespoke it won't be cheap and comparable to writing whole thing by yourself the magic of gothic / witcher series was the fact that they wrote their own engine and made things their own way. Which still is great to this day.

Perfect. Now let's hope they add a nice combat system and don't mess up the audio/localisation. I think something in the veins of Dark Souls would be nice, but without the silly rolling around. Optional Lock-On targeting, nothing too fancy ... maybe?

Hey. Why did you turn off the LODs and effects in some shots? The swamp camp wasnt lit at night in your shots and there were no trees visibile around the old camp either. 😢

I played all the games until 3 including all expansions, but when it turned into something else I quit playing the risen or whatever that games are. Gothic is one of my favorite games of all time

Same here man. This was my first 3rd person open world rpg that I played ,and since then,I alvays look for similar games to play only. But none can match original gothic 1 ,and 2. Maybe first Risen,only.

@@Crazey yeah risen 3 was also a good one. I gave a chance to elex too,you can see in gameplay that it is a Piranha bytes game,but I dont like that sci fi environment and story.

looks good for the most part, i appreciate they've changed the scale of things to be more realistic, this is such a common problem with older 3D games where everything is very scaled down, never really understood why, its not a polygon issue..
Not a huge fan of the trees and the flora/ground cover they've shown, but maybe it'll improve (super important for graphics/immersion overall since it will be noticeable in many places of the game).
If someone said this is UE 5 i would've been a bit sceptical if i didn't know what engine it was (since it can look absolutely mindblowing), but whatever, it still such an immense upgrade from the original graphics and graphics alone didn't make the first game what it was either. I just hope they nail the combat!
I sometimes think they're looking a bit TOO much at the original. For example, Diego stands out in comparison to the other characters, he looks a bit too cartoonish while the other characters does not. Things needs to look consistent.
im pretty sure diego looked different to everyone else in the og too. since lester and everoyne else important all stand out and are able to be recognised as who they were in the og. in my opinion they're way off from the original (the scavanger especially that thing is horrendous since we already have 4 dinosaurs and scavangers are the only birld like enemy in the entire game)
@@hgtugdz2579 that's not what i said though, of course the characters should look different but some can't look very realistic and some almost cartoonish, then its not consistent. yeah the scavenger could look a bit better or more bird like, i agree. these are all minor quibbles though.
@@Vurt72 yes i can agree these are smaller problems, yet i still think remodeling the creatures would be a good idea (scavanger and what i think is the razor since it looks like the 89 godzilla) and also the lighting in the camps should be different and highlight the camps iconic colour which in the trailer they fail at the new and old camp. the swamp camps only complain is no tattoos and ore lamps.

@@crestofhonor2349 now that i think of it your right. yet i was talking about how in gothic most buildings dont look too special or modern such as the castle. and now they made the ork buildings look more advanced than the ones of humans. those ork structures look like something i'd find in an amusment part today or some sort of artwork and not something like that. personally i'd like it to be out of stone or something that fits the orks more than something that looks like it was poured with cement.
@@hgtugdz2579 Wood building were far more common of the time than stone. Of course these are video games and they're not trying to be historically accurate to the time. There is a lot wrong a lot of fantasy games get about medieval or gothic architecture

It is probably a special Orc type, maybe a sort of mini boss or templar orc? Also if the orc were able to build the sleeper temple it couldnt be too hard to have some sort armor like that for a few special orcs. But I agree if you will find many orcs like this it wouldnt make sense

Muszę przyznać, że przełożenie Śniący na The Sleeper jakoś mi zgrzyta - to przecież Śniący, nie Śpiący. Zrobiłabym z tego chyba The Dreaming One? Chociaż w sumie, to zależy, jak dokładnie brzmiał niemiecki oryginał... Ryje orków też bardziej goblinie niż orkowe, mam wrażenie.
Ale tak ogólnie? Łezka się w oku kręci. Naprawdę wygląd rimejku zrobił na mnie wrażenie. Patrząc na stare i nowe lokacje obok siebie naprawdę ma się wrażenie, że... wreszcie udało się osiągnąć wizję oryginalnych autorów. Że tak to wyglądało w wyobraźni twórców i graczy. Mocna dawka nostalgii.
W oryginale też był jako The Sleeper

Graphical fidelity is good but I feel like much of the style or Gothic aesthetic is diminished. This is a common problem with modern graphics and I think developers need to solve it as most modern games just look the same. This looks like Resident Evil 4 remake. It also looks like Dragon's Dogma 2. Barely any aesthetic or art direction.

looks good for the most part, but I hope they put some work into making those npcs faces look less atrocious I also hope they make intro from scratch because intro scenes in this look worse than the original
as well as like in the og have the camera further away instead of the usual zoom in we see in every other game that has dialog. since then facial features become less visible and errors while in dialog are less noticable. the wildlife should be redone fully. unoriginal or just not fitting in the slightest (scavangers)

Dzięki za film ! Jak dla mnie,to lokacje wyglądają solidnie.Martwią mnie za to twarze NPC,które wyglądają jak z Wiedźmina 2 oraz animacja chodzenia - sztywno to wygląda.Dodatkowo przy fragmencie gdzie Bezimienny idzie z Diego do Starego Obozu wygląda jakby byli przyklejeni do płaskiego podłoża.

Muchos se quejaron de que el juego debia tener una ambientacion oscura, ya que el ambiente colorido no representaba a la saga Gothic, cuando eso es algo totalmente falso.
Gothic siempre tuvo ambientes coloridos en lugares "normales," como el Valle de las Minas en Gothic 1 (antes de que este fuera destruido), el Valle de Khorinis, y el Valle de Jharkendar en Gothic 2, mas la isla de Archolos en Chronicles Of Myrtana, y el continente del Gothic 3, donde todo se veia muy colorido, por lo que esa afirmacion de que siempre fue oscuro, es falsa.
Solo los lugares peligrosos son "oscuros", como el Cementerio Orco, el Templo de Krushak, la Zona Orca del Valle de las Minas, la Fortaleza en Ruinas y el Faro de Niebla de Gothic 1, como tambien el destruido Valle de las Minas, el Templo de Irdorath de Gothic 2, mas la zona de las Alcantarillas, los Cementerios y las Ruinas de Vardhal de Chronicles of Myrtana.
No cuento a Gothic 3 en ese aspecto, por que considero que el juego es demasiado luminoso en cuanto a ambientacion, siendo Nordmar el unico lugar dizque "oscuro" en esa entrega.
