There's quite a bit to rigging it for planting/fertilizing Joey but you did a great job of explaining it. She looks like she is ready to get the planting done now. Thanks for the informative video and have a blessed Resurrection Day and a great week as well.
Happy Easter Joey. For the deer, I use a scarecrow with a sweaty hat and some cologne sprayed on a shirt, and move it around in the garden every 10 or 12 days and have good luck. 🤷🏻♂️
Great video. Especially for us novice. The pry bar you mentioned was referred to as a “lady slipper” by most of us. I’m just too old and under strength to constantly be installing and changing the implements. That is the reason I use to justify having several Farmall’s. Of course the batteries and maintenance become an issue. A fun issue for me at the present time. Storage is a different matter however. Thanks for sharing Joey. I hope you had a good “holiday” and thanks for reminding folks what the day really means. Stan here.
Good video Joey. IH did not make the cub through 140 tractors for people who were afraid of dirt and grease. Every time you change cultivator and implement setups you end up crawling on the ground and in the grease. Try using a mixture of diesel and used motor oil for the rust prevention on the fertilizer hopper setup.
Excellent tutorial on rigging up the fertilizer distributor Joey. I started using that Camp 10-10-10 last year and I really like it and bought some to use again this year. Happy Resurrection Day to you and your family!
Thanks for all your videos and sharing your knowledge! They have inspired me to get my own Farmall 140. We pick it up today. It will be used on our small farm we will be purchasing soon. You're an inspiration and kind.
Save yourself some money. What works well here in New England his put up some fence posts and use fishing line instead of wire. I’ve usually put four or five strands up and the deer can’t see them and when they walk into it, it really spooks and they run away works well for keeping deer out of corn. and vegetables
You’ve got to get down and dirty putting a fertilizer attachment on... I learned to wipe the grease off the outside of the fitting on the hopper shaft before I got it on my shirt... the chain idlers are to keep tension on the chain and to keep them from rubbing on anything...
Look into the plot saver. But it's probably more expensive than just the electric tape. I have had good success with malorganite fertilizer. Those sensitive plants you can go down the row and just drop it along the row. If it's lots of area you might just get by doing the outside ends as they don't want to move into it.
I saw this video a while back . Didn’t have a blade but i did make one out of a piece of wood and my bolts weren’t long enough so I used heavy duty electrical ties. And bro it works great . Biggest problem is don’t get it to low or the row will be flatter than I wished .
1st video I ever watched of yours a few years back was installing your fertilizer drive. I actually commented about how you hooked the john deere hopper to it. Thanks for sharing. By the way I can tell you been doing good. Your looking pretty spry and fit crawling around on the ground. I'm at 207 finally. I use the wd 40 gel spray in all my hoppers, it is really sticky and stays where you spray it.
I took Friday,Saturday and Sunday off. Been on it since late December. I’m sure I backed up a pound or two but on to July when I go on vacation. Hopefully we’ll break into the 180s by then.
First to comment! Enjoyed the instructional video on setting this up. Yea, it is a whole lot more than people imagine. Very, very helpful. Happy Resurrection Day Jtwes family. He is risen! God bless! BTW Joey….have you heard anything lately from Tim Fail? The gentleman who had the Farmall 140 website? He was really knowledgeable about the 140’s.
I had one of those Cole Fert distributors and I took it off lol . Couldn't see around the thing lol . They held a lot more Fert but it took up so much room but if you are doing a garden like you then yeah I can see where it would come in better.
I’m starting putting together one 140 from two parts tractor’s. I also have a late model cub I plan to try setting up my planter. This cub has a quick hitch. The 140 doesn’t. 45” center to center on the 140. Not really sure on the cub. ? All to help on High price groceries. Yes.
Watched this for the 3rd time. I am mounting the main drive unit that my IH Duplex seed hopper will sit on. Also mounting the fertilizer distributor today. I notice that where you screwed the tapered head bolts for the main drive into the frame of the tractor, I have through holes that are un-tapped. and about 3/4". I'll have to use a couple of 8" by 5/8" bolts and nuts to attach it. The old Super AV has "bosses" and they are tapped like yours are. No "bosses" or tapped holes on the Super AI, strange.
He is Risen! Praying for His swift return!
I feel like it’s sooner than later for sure.
Thank y’all and Happy Resurrection Day JTWES !
Hey Bro Scott
Thank You and Happy Resurrection Day to you.

It did perfectly. Just hope it doesn’t get to cold tonight.

Hey Tony
Another subscriber said he uses fishing line . 5 strands of it. I might try that.
Happy Easter Day our LORD JESUS has risen Amen
Hey Roger
Amen Yes indeed.

Hey Lamont
I’ll try that this fall.

It’s easy on the hopper I think.

Hey Tom
Congratulations on the Tractor and Farm. If I can ever help with anything let me know.
@@Jtwes Thank you and I'm certain I will have questions. ✝️
Great video Joey! He is risen indeed! 1 Corinthians 15:12-28 Hallelujah!
Thanks Bobby. Amen
Hey Joey and family! Getting oily and dirty is fun. My dad had me changing oil in the family car at the age of 10. 😎😎
That’s good knowledge.👍

Hey Morris
It was still cleaner than Williams clutch . Lol
I love your new name for WD -40.
Good video Joey , Christ is risen
Thank You Mark
Yes indeed he has.
Great video! Thanks for sharing.
Hey Gwayne
Thank you.

A subscriber mentioned five strands of fishing line. I might try that it’s pretty cheap.
@@Jtwes yea worth a try.
My cub came with a blade just like your’s.
I’ve seen a lot of snow pushing with those cubs.

Hey Bart
I often thought a 2x8 would be fine.
Yep, it is a little bit of a setup.
Greasy job for sure. Lol
@@Jtwes if you put those two planters together, you'd have a nice 2pt...hahaha
I wouldn’t mind having a 2 row 1point like we had when I was younger.
Amen . God Bless
Thank You Tater

I haven’t. I know he sure has had his hands on some nice ones before.
👍

Great Video, I picked up a 184 this weekend in Mt Olive, NC. Not as pretty as your but has the deluxe hopper, and bent rod. LOL
I think every one I've seen has that. lol
Deer hunting time.

Hay I sent you a email on the plow day but I don’t know if had went through to you but if the weather holds we are still planning on doing it Saturday
I didn't see anything try joey@jtwes.com
How many links do you have from the wheel sprocket to the cog . Want to make sure I do mine right . Thanks
I would need to count them. send me a email and it will remind me.
Good thang you not wearing that really nice shirt you had on the other day!
If Leno knew I was going to do fertilizer setup she would have insisted that I wore that shirt.
It's empty
