Excellent work, particularly that lovely second Inverleigh sequence featuring 'The Overdue' with the very clean 'Real Trains not Road Trains' liveried NR66. Freight trains also well filmed with good technical information about the level crossings. It amazes that ARTC and VicTrackAccess have not worked together to install boom barriers, not just flashing lights, at these 'minor' road crossings such as shown on the video. Unfortunately the evidence I have seen suggests that it's those who live within five kms of a rail line who are most complacent, as in an attitude of 'I know when the trains run'. But they don'[t, and a fatal collision can result. Imagine apart from any persons lost (RIP) and the heartbreak of families and friends, what the delays to this main line between Adelaide and Perth/Darwin would be from any collision. The recent near miss filmed by AUSSIETRAINDRIVER 2020 (available on TH-cam) of his T class narrowly missing a lunatic in a ute who in the morning raced across the Woorinen - Swan Hill Road demonstrates how some motorists won't be stopped by f/ls alone (although there may have been sunlight in the road driver's eyes, I'm unsure of that).
Thank you. Yeah I saw that video with the near miss. I'm not sure if I am happy that they have not upgraded the crossings in this area but they definitely need to do something to improve safety
Great video
