    I have a pencil case kind of similar to that but instead of having two zipper sections it just has the one but has a middle "flap" thing that has a pencil holder on one side and three little pockets on the other, I love it so much, also that sketchbook seems to be everyone's favorite xD I've filled up two of them myself already.

    I’m currently using two bags (essentially the unorganised pouches she talked abou) one for pencils, the other for pens/markers and I’m hoping that soon I’ll get something to keep all of my stuff organised like the one in this video

    My favorite portable sharpener is Faber-Castell, but I don't know what is the exact name. It's oval shaped with a sort of "bite off" on the side where the sharpener is, and the shavings compartment is transparent. It comes in different colors. It's small and flat and fits into my small pouch easily and works better than most sharpeners I've had so far.

    Is it strange that 7x10 is like, huge for me? I HATE working on bigger size artworks. 5.5 x 8.5 is where it's at for me.
    As for the sketchbook, I prefer thicker paper. Canson isn't bad (especially for the price), but I prefer the Strathmore Visual Journal because it's thick and cheap (about $7 on Amazon).
    Edit: If anyone is looking for a good sharpener, I'd recommend the Kutsuwa STAD T'GALL sharpener. It's a little pricey (around $6 now), but I think it's worth it.

    A good portable shapener is the faber castell magic pencil. It is a lid for a non-mechanical pencil so that lead does not get on the pencil case, but it is also a shapener with small storage room for shavings. The magic pencil is also very thin so that it does not take up much room.

    I have a great sharpener that I bought pretty recently! It got two holes, one to cut back the wood and the other to sharpen the edge :D The sharpener is sitting in this plastic container with a lid so when it gets full you just open the lid and empty it out. It fits in the palm of your hand so its pretty easy to bring with you c: Its the best sharpener I've had yet tbh, cause it can sharpen all my old and rugged pencils without a problem.

    My favorite pencil sharpener is by the Brand Staedler. Is a blue tub sharpener with 2 holes, one for sketching pencils and the other for colored pencils. Is not too big or too small, I've been using it for almost a year now and it's amazing. Sharpens the heck out of my pencils easily without breaking them, cost me like $6 but it was well worth it, highly recommend btw loved the vid! ☺️

    Great travel pouch! I've been researching travel cases quite a bit recently and you're video has inspired me to maybe go a bit more compact than I was originally looking at. It's fun to see what other people include in their art EDC! Thanks! Also, great idea with the pencil sharpener in the Ziploc bag- genius!

    I'm not sure where you live (I'm new to your channel) and whether you've already solved your pencil sharpener conundrum but Muji (it's a Japanese lifestyle store/brand) sells an adorable and affordable pencil sharpener that is incredibly compact - it's literally the size of a thimble - but holds a TON of shavings. It sharpens quite well (super fine point) too!

    I really wanted to get an orange or the yellow one, but the green one was a little cheaper and I think the orange one was out of stock at the time. :/ But that's okay! I'm really loving the green and I see what you mean about the color. The picture online doesn't do it justice. Same with those gold paints. The picture makes it look like that there aren't very many variations in the shades, but there really is! And they're so beautiful, I can't wait to try them out. Thank you for recommending these! ^ ^

    Oh! And another thing, since you asked for sharpener suggestions, I've been using Prismacolor's Scholar Pencil Sharpener ($1.59 on Amazon), and it works really well. I use a lot of colored pencils, so I had been on the hunt for a good on for a while. It probably won't fit in you case, though. XD

    The maped pencil sharpener (i forgot if it had any other specific names to it) is incredible for a pound. It's very similar to the normal silver ones, but a lot easier to hold and weirdly heavy. I only bought it because I was in Greece and it was advertized with a very angry Greek man hitting it with a hammer and shouting at it- I bought it because it made me laugh but have been pleasantly surprised and (obviously) recommend it.

    hi danica. wow first comment. first of all I love your work you & jazza have inspired me to create characters and adding background to my art. I need to upskill from the usual floating images on paper. one day ill try digital art but ill be saving my ass off for a wacom tablet cintque and the programs need. do have any advice and what u need for people who want to start digital?

    • @mayabarrage3570
      @mayabarrage3570 7 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      April P I know I'm not Danica or anything but if you want to start with a wacom, you should start with an intuos, that's what I have and ive had it for like two years now. as for programs, I personally use medibang paint, which is a free program for Mac and Windows, ive heard fire alpaca is similar to it, and I'm pretty sure its the same company. also if you get a wacom and set up an account or something with them I think they let you download a program for free depending on which one you get. I got Corel painter essentials 5, though it doesn't really work with my flow. I hope I helped :)

    It shouldn't really matter what you draw with. If I didn't have money for ink and brushes, I'd draw with my index finger and a pile of dogshit. It seems to me that a lot of artists out there are just art tool fetishists and collectors.
