    it could be the injection pump that's playing up, when seals go bad and fuel by-pass internal components on rotary style pumps they will run and Start but as the pressure builds up internally the pump misbehaves and losses power and can't rev up , on some of the pump's I've worked on the back pressure inside pump puts pressure on the wrong side of the position and stops it getting the right amount of stroke and this cuts the feed volume to the injector nozzle ,it has something to do with the way the pistons runs of the squelch cam plate inside the rotary head . my experience is with Bosch pumps on tractors but it could be the same problem with your engine. you probably have to take it of and get the pump put on a test bench to check, finding a place that will do that with out telling you that they only exchange for a new one is going to be interesting

      Ive known my diesel guy a long time, and I don't think he would lie to me, but it would play to do that, even though both Brian and Ken have ruled out the pump, will see what Brians next move is when he comes back, "its his turn in this crazy game of chess" Haha

      @@TeamBulletOffroad Have you checked the radiator to see if it is not sucking water into the cylinders to eliminate a more serious problem. What appears as white smoke can be water in the exhaust from a cracked block or head. Hopefully not. You can get oil in the water or maybe see bubbles if on compression stroke but sometimes the only sign is a drop in the water level and water (steam out the exhaust.

    how tight should the injectors be

      About 70nm, could go a bit harder without killing anything...

      Could have been injectors too, fuel cell was in bad shape, but pump timing to new injector was the main I believe... Just slowly over time with the old injectors the timing went bad...

    even tho it's running rough as . that amount of engine shake are your engine mounts good still ?

      Will check them mate once I get the new dual case x-member in because im pretty sure there both cactus back there under the transfer, which wouldn't be helping things, the whole driveline moves around that much together...
