Travel tip: Always carry a small case with emergency supplies like a couple pairs of disposable chopsticks, an Asian soup spoon, several Shout wipes, some compressed dry wipes, a couple of ziplock baggies, and a sharp knife. After being caught without while on a business trip, I never leave home without these things. :) Happy travels, Mikey. Stay safe!

As a native Texan, I can honestly say it will be a joy to welcome you to Texas. I am sorry we have scary heatwaves. I hope you stay hydrated during those times. Because every summer it is about 115*- 130*F. No joke. And it hardly ever snows. Summer lasts until November. Winter is basically December- February. Houston is one of the hottest places because it is a large concrete city that will absorb a lot of heat. Good luck to you and your new journey in life. I'm sorry your bike got stolen. Take care. Mikey, as a born and raised Washingtonian in the Puget Sound it was great having you experience at least a bit of what we have to offer. If you ever have a chance to come back please remember you are always welcome with open arms. My best friend who grew up in a military family and has just over 500 days left in the Air Force has also been all over the world agrees with you that this is the place he wants to call home for many of the reasons you state. Just don't tell everyone...lol

I know the feeling that Mike talked about. For me, it was my tiny single bed room on campus back when I was in college. So many memorable nights coming in that room passed out drunk and waking up hungover, grinding throughout the night for exams, watching movies on a Saturday night on my laptop with 0 responsibilities on mind, trying to make a decent meal without a stove top, etc.

I'm gonna give you a pro tip. If you know the address of where you're staying then send your restricted items through the mail so it'll be there when you arrive or show up right after you.
Ohh, this is actually a nice idea. But how can we mail stuff from the airport?
@@tabreztisekar before you go to the airport. Like the day before or the morning of. Something like that. His hotpot sauce was most likely over the 3oz allowed on a carry on.
@@susanna6462 But the thing is Mike expected that airport authorities would allow him to take the hot oils and hotpot broth packets. What to do once you are in the airport?
@@tabreztisekar they typically tell you that you have to go check your bag in. So you have to pay to check in your bag. But if you’re running low on time, then you just have to toss it.
@@Douglas.Kennedy because it's not carry one. You can carry those stuff with a check-in just fine. It's for safety reasons. When you bring liquid on a carry one people can mix them into dangerous combinations. But if it's in the plane cargo hold them no one getting to that mid flight.

To avoid the sadness of losing any food item, just mail it to yourself next time, especially if your destination is domestic (within the US).

I know that you will enjoy Texas, but predict that you won't love it as much as here. Too bad that Covid happened at all, but the timing was super inconvenient. There is so much that you weren't able to discover. I was born and raised in Seattle and, although I've lived other places, I think that Washington is the best place to live. I lived in Tx for a short time, but couldn't wait to get back here. Looking forward to your next adventure.

Dude, if you want to hike in a secluded area, get a room at the Big Bend National Park Basin Park. It is so secluded, your car radio finds no radio stations... it just scans... Then, hike the South Rim Trail. It is a 11 mile or so hike and gives you a view of Mexico... Super Cool. You might see a cougar or bear... I did.

Mike I bought your 3 pack hot oil sampler and I gotta say they're all actually really good. My favorite is the black bean sauce, a little sweet salty and spicy. My only issue is if u close the lids on the containers all the way, it's literally impossible to get it back open. I still have not had any more crunchy garlic hot oil because of this lol!
