I really had no idea how intellectual connected and realistic she is. Its refreshing to hear someone speaking that knows how to make the statement, clearly and does so very beautifully.
The suckling pig photo is by far my absolute favorite photo of Tori. It's pure art.

It's funny because, perhaps if it was a cow calf maybe people wouldn't have been so outraged and it would have been a Vegan's advertising dream, as we of course suckle the milk from a cows mother without a thought about it in our mind!
She said once that the photo was specifically symbolic of nursing and nurturing that which is not considered kosher. Hence the pig. Also the obvious reference to the holy mother and child.

That tour occurred during my senior year of high school, and Tori gave a concert in my home town. More than a few fellow students attended and assured me she put on an amazing show (wish I had been there!!) One of my classmates purchased her t-shirt bearing the pig suckling image to school the next day. He nearly got himself into trouble before the teacher made him turn it inside out.
I love her SO much. I’ve been a fan for about 20 years or so now. She has true, true talent- in her piano playing, singing and her songwriting. I’m not gonna name names, but with the music of today it’s SO rare to find this kind of depth and artistry.
Rock on Tori,show em how women over fifty are still vital and have so much more to say about everything.Keep speaking your truth because we need to hear it.

I wish we had more humans with as much courage and honesty as Tori and that includes other so called artists as well,there are not enough human beings with as much courage as she has.

Seeing her in concert when I was younger was amazing. I have never heard anybody since that remotely comes close to her sound. She is definitely a one of a kind.

@@paulallen8109 Tori Amos' songs can truly be life changing. it doesn't matter if you '' had a life '' before or not. it's called a breaktrough or an epiphany. personnally i had a wonderful experience with one of her songs, (among others), Winter.
it came back in my mind while i was mourning, still mourning the lost of my grandfather, and suddenly i was free. this song has set me free in the most beautiful way. i cried tears of joy. this moment was pure magic. just pure bliss. it's the song and what came around with it. the trigger that brought the song and made me sing it aloud, for myself. it was exactly as if my grandfather was singing it through me. it was bliss.
it made me believe in magic. so it changed my life, yes !

Had the pleasure of meeting her 2 different times , once with Little Earthquakes and then Scarlets Walk .. still a warm genuine soul .. 💛
She’s living in the perfect place. One the most beautiful breathtaking countries on the planet. And she is just so graceful. I could listen to her speak all day long.

Y can't tori read 1986-88 then went solo in 90 But she started at 17 doing demo tapes

I have loved Tori ever since Little earth quakes came out and here video was first released on MTV Silent all these years was like her break out video. Had a chance to meet her many years ago at a concert she was/is a very big kind hearted woman and she would talk to you like you was an old friend at least she did with me then . I so wanted to marry her back then. and that is when my love of redheads bloomed 18years after that night I married my wife of the last 12 years.
Greatest living musician and composer and live performer. There is no one who can do what Tori does.

Loved the interview, but wished they got all the facts right, and that it was longer and in more depth. Tori Amos the Goddess has returned to us, with UG and this fabulous tour.

@@shanelevene4864 or it could be a learning experience? For both? Perhaps some of those suckled pigs leach a little humanity, or learn some gratitude. Perhaps some of those who allow it or are led to it learn to say no or to differentiate greedy piggies from grateful partners.
In this case I think interviewer was looking for an answer that'd suit her own middle-of-road sensibilities? Daft line of questioning though I agree. I dunno much about Tori Amos other than she was around at a similar time as Nirvana, she was a good singer/songwriter + that she was always a pretty fearless artist! Had her own fashion sense/style too. Still looks amazing at 50. Can still perform too!
An original..never be another Tori. Every female artist that came after her owes her so much for swinging that door wide open and taking the male dominated record industry to task over their practices and inability to see what women bring to the industry. Go girl, go!!

There are great minds, incredible authors,directors narrators, out of all the unbelievable talents that I have been lucky enough to hear witness or read of, tori Amos has given me light in this amazing existence. So pure and an amazing mind and spirit.

I have been following Tori most of my adult life. I only have seen her in person perhaps 4 times. Three times in Boston and once at UNH. I love the music and lyrics.
5:02 boom for the interviewer. she almost cried. watch it again. that's why tori amos is brave and inspiring and so powerful emotionally. she isn't afraid to deal with those dark emotions, she actually ..i don't know what she does. but she does it :)

That interviewer expected Tori to say "yes" when she asked her if she regretted that pig photo, but Tori DOUBLED-DOWN, looked her straight in the eye, and said "NO, I don't". You can tell from the way she asked the question that she was being judgemental, but Tori correctly shut her down.

I became a fan was this Asian guy at Denny’s when we used to kick it at Denny’s back in the day kept talking about Tori Amos and I knew about her I’ve heard some songs I thought she was good but never look too deep into it. He freaking burnt me every song she ever had and he just said just listen I’ve never been the same sense
I will always love and respect this wonderful person! I only regret I didn't discover her earlier than I did.

I’ve only seen Tori Perform live once, it was for a morning radio show she was promoting the boys for Pele album- Breakfast with Tori Amos . I was expecting pancakes but it turned out to be just coffee , Orange juice and bagels. It was at the house of blues broadcast live. There was off some off the air segments where I got the feeling she wasn’t a morning person, as she seemed a bit combative or defensive w some of the fans questions. All in all she’s still a talent. When all this Covid is check ... I’m planning to see her live again.

Tori is the real deal. Real music from the heart, not some skimpy pop puppet twerking in a bikini for the cameras.
She was one great singer. We all grow old. I think the goal for us all is that we grow old with dignity. I wonder if Tori is growing old with dignity or if she is simply growing old. Makes me wonder if she was ever about dignity or if she was simply whining about being a female.
