I am definitely guilty of forgetting my reusable bags and opting for paper! I am a busy vegan mom of 4 and some days I just don't even think twice about my bags. Thank you for this information, Chris and Jasmine. I will be more mindful about grabbing my bags on the way out the door.

A great tip is to keep them in your car or by the door so you don't forget to grab them! :)

I have some that pack up really small and keep two or three in my purse and several in the car too.

I love the idea for using cans as planters. I’ve never thought of that! 🤗
Also I reuse my glass jars as well. To get the paper and sticky stuff off do this, it’s a total game changer!
    1. Get really hot water and pour into the containers. Let out sit for about 10-15 min.
    2. While that’s heating up mix some olive oil and baking soda together to make a paste.
    3. Carefully, because the glass will be hot, I usually use a towel to help hold it, pull off as much paper as you can.
    4. Then take your paste and put it on the sticky parts left on the glass. Let it sit for about 10 min then scrub off with hot water. 🤗

Most grocery stores have a little bin where you can recycle your plastic grocery bags! I’ve also heard that if they are clean, you can also throw in ziplock bags with them as well :)

    I looked it up:
Real Straws were made of Rye in the older days. They were a by product as well when they harvested Rye.
Before Tye was changed units gens it grew higher, it was pretty resistant to deseases and it had enough strength to cut useable straws out of it. These days the height is to short to cut straws out of Rye, because they changed that that Rye would not lay flat in the field after a storm which meant a great loss for the farmer.
Well they used to make Mattresses out of straw, too. The straw was bundled and packed in fabric like linen or what was available, linen grew also and was woven into fabric. Line seed oil, remember at Whole food stores, health stores. OK just for Info.

It's so weird for me whenever people on the internet mention ways to reduce either waste or cost when talking about coffee.
Almost all the people I know make their own coffee as opposed to buying and also, most of them make the coffee themselves as opposed to using a coffeemaker, by either pouring boiled water over the coffee grounds and sugar previously placed in each mug, gently stirring, and then allowing the coffee grounds to settle on the bottom, or by boiling the water together with the coffee grounds, letting them settle on the bottom, and then pouring in mugs where each person adds how much sugar they want.
I guess it's simply the culture being different, and not just the countries', because in bigger cities they do use coffeemakers and buy coffee more often than in my town.
I really enjoy these tips! We can always do better. :)

I do most of what you listed already....partly for the environment & partly to save money. However, I want to mention about the paper verses plastic: It is not as bad to use paper as some make it sound, and here's why: just like with natural Christmas trees verses re-usable trees, there are farms that exist only because they are growing trees for this purpose. Trees are grown for the paper industry that would not be grown otherwise. They want specific kinds of trees, usually a certain kind of pine due to the softer wood & straighter trunk. Also, paper can be made from hemp...which I wish they would do more of...and paper is biodegradeable, while plastic bags are not. The plastic bags CAN be recycled at some specific locations, but can't be put in the recycle trash bins with the other products. Plastic bags seem to easily get away from the trashman and get stuck on weeds & in trees...making the environment ugly. Stray paper will often break down after a couple of rains. Just my thoughts...I hate plastic and prefer more natural materials. :)

Just had an additional coffee suggestion (in addition to French Press), which is stove top expresso! Great coffee, no paper filters needed. It does contain more caffeine by volume, but you tend to drink less.

26:18 You can recycle plastic grocery bags(PGB) but refusing them whenever possible is a great starter practice towards a R/R/R & zero waste lifestyle. However, if you already have, find or unintentionally acquire any PGB’s most grocery stores like Walmart, Safeway, Kingsoopers, etc. have recycling bins near the entrance that you can take all PGB’s from ANY other store/business & recycle them as well.

Here please read this, It is something Everyone has to be aware of. One warning thing to these Glas and steel straws:
😱Do not drive with that kind of straw in your cup and do not give these straws to your child!
    Here is why: 👆🏻
While you drive and you would have to stop all the sudden 😱with the Straw still in your mouth or your child's mouth
    (traffic IS unpredictable! )
Those Glas and steel straw could end up into upper palate of the mouth or throat and ram into it, so there is a 😱💀💀reasonable chance to get hurt very badly.
Children should not have those straws neither, because if they carry their drink while running around there is a realistic chance that they fall and get those straws stuck and bore in the palate and break out teeth.
Use instead the Silicon for the car and for Children.
    They are soft.😻
It would be nice if real Straws made from Straw would have a comeback again like in old times.
They are the environmental friendliest version of them all. Use them and then they compost in nature without any traces left. Wish companies would produce them again.
So now, hat had to be said, because I used steel straws and I recognized that or a glass straw as a potential dangerous tool.
    I switched to Silicon.
They can be washed with the little brush that comes with them, when you purchase them.
    Now my praises for you!
I am glad you did this Video. So many people will hopefully get this and follow your tips and advises.I do all this things almost like you inspire. It's a great video. Thank you so much.
And a big big plus you give these ideas and inspirations collected in ONE. video! Very smart.

Thank you for sharing all these tips!
Just recently bought bamboo kitchen towels as I tend to use plenty of bamboo paper towels pretty much everyday; I’m excited about that!
And I really loved the last tip personally, as it is the one that resonated with me the most; like, if I really don’t need something, like a chocolate candy bar or vegan junk food, then why buy it! Why not just make something delicious myself? (Example; super simple peanut butter stuffed dates, which are insanely good, especially when slightly frozen 😉)
    Anyway, great stuff. Cheers! 🤙🏼🌎🌱

unfortunately with the current climate of the nation with COVID 19 we can no longer bring our reusable bags to the grocery store. Can you guys do a current video on what you guys are doing in response to this? Do you take plastic grocery bags and then reuse them? What about the produce bags? I've never used those before. I'm learning sooo much in the past couple of months during the quarantine about food storage, preservation and pantry building. I'd love to see some new videos from you regarding the current state of our grocery stores and how to deal with that. Thanks! :)

They also make reusable coffee cones and baskets.
You must not have a house full and kids and have a lot of time on your hands. lol
You need need meat and dairy. It is the AMOUNT YOU CONSUME. Unless you have lactose intolerance or other health problems. Look into why vegan and veterinarians are SICK.
