Aww. We love that! There are so many options on a cruise ship from the basic grilled cheese and peanut butter and jelly sandwiches to the most exquisite lobster and filet mignon! There’s something to please everyone’s appetite!
I don't have a poker face and, when live, don't always have a filter! LOL ... We pride ourselves on the channel always leading with positivity! But more important, we're always honest first. We never want to recommend something and have a fellow cruiser say, "What the heck were they thinking?!" or worse, "They must get a kickback from the cruise line for saying that!" lol ... All honest, all the time. And I have a TERRIBLE poker face. ;) -Mark

The saddest part is that I was sooooooo excited about those dang meatballs! 😂 I tried the beef ones again yesterday and they were somewhat better, so I’m hopeful that they’ll continue to improve as the week goes on!!

We’re glad you enjoy our videos! Not necessarily expecting 5-star meals from those quick-serve restaurants on board, but definitely hoping for quality food that can be enjoyed by all. This first go was not great, as you can tell, but we’re glad to report that things did change over the course of our time on board!
I did try Il Mercato and agree with the dryness of the meatballs. I did try the grilled cheese and it was good. The potato salad was my favorite side dish.

I’m going to try them a couple times through the voyage. I had a beef one tonight to test it out and it was much better. I’m a little scared to try the chicken one again! lol - but will do that tomorrow!
I’m excited to try it again in a day or two. Overall, the deli options looked really yummy and the hot dogs were great. Holding out hope that the meatballs will be much better as that’s what I was really excited about. Haha

Oooh! Like a mozzarella filler would be delicious. Whats odd is the fact that there are several other spots you can get delicious meatballs on board. They definitely know how to do it!
Hey, guys! I just booked a little 4-day cruise on May 26th. My cabin is Deck 11, midship, so I imagine it is literally STEPS from Il Mercato. My question is, do they have a free beverage station up there? Or do you have to go downstairs to get water/tea/lemonade/coffee?
GREAT Question! And great news: they do indeed have a beverage station up there! Makes it super convenient for those staying on the forward decks of the ship. Just a quick pop out for beverages and ice! :) Enjoy this beautiful ship - just a few weeks to go! -mark

Honestly, we plan to continue to check it out every couple of days to see if things improve. We’ll definitely keep our followers updated about the food quality from this venue (and other venues) as the cruise progresses.
Just got off the Venezia and the worst food on the entire ship was all of the Italian food. Not a single Italian dish was truly eatable. I hope that ship is better and I expect it to be when I get on, but not holding my breath
Oh no! I'm sorry to hear that. We were not big fans of the pasta, TBH on Venezia. It was always over done (likely from being held under warmers). It's been much better on Carnival Firenze in my opinion. Tomodoro is still my favorite of all of the spots, but even the dishes in the Main Dining Room have been pretty good. I've heard that Venezia has gotten better since the launch, but it sounds like you had a rough go. Where all did you eat?
