Don't like the center links. Small links should be polished. Why three links if they are not different. Only one micro adjust? Unless it has half links that's unacceptable. Dial looks cheap. It's a pass for me.
@ The new logo is an upgrade . . . and I liked the original “Sharkey” logo! This new one is well-designed and like you said, would have fit in nicely on the crown and clasp. Even more, “Heimdallr” on the dial should have been removed, leaving only the logo. *OR* if they want to keep both on the dial, then replace the 12 o clock index with the new logo (a la Rolex’s crown) and have the text “Heimdallr” above the pinion. But my preference would be only the logo above the pinion.
Thank you for your review. It is nice for sure. From the clichèd shark to a valknut logo; not sure if it is an improvement but it would look better on the crown and clasp in my opinion. What it does better for the brand is that is re-inforces the Norse language that "Heimdallr" represents after all. There is originality in the dial but a missed opportunity with a single color. I think they might be testing the waters with a black version to see if it makes sense to issue the model with alternative colors.
@@ConradAquilina I think you're probably right there, about testing the waters before making them in more colours. Hopefully they can make the little changes that I suggested in the video for a V2 as well.
@@HonestWatchReviewsHWR Watch is good looking, I did really like the dial (felt like a combo of Rolex sub & Seiko), great dial texture, wish were there in more colors to see that depth in texture, that bezel and indices standout for me including the bracelet, wish they made those 5 links more visible with clear distinction (like you mentioned) - it would have been a standout. overall very handsome tool watch.. what do you think?
Nice! The watch is clearly inspired by the newish Seiko SJE Marinemasters, the Logo is much better than the fishbone, it says "microbrand" as opposed to the old one that said "China special"
@@AlexanderB. Yeah, I'm a fan of the new logo too. I just wish they had used the logo only on the dial and clasp. As well as adding it to the crown too.
I do have some love for Heimdallr watches, when I owned their 62mas homage many years ago I thought it was pretty awesome and my favourite watch for some time, also their monster homages are pretty cool watches, I prefer the old shark logo myself to be honest, great review but for me I'm not feeling much of a draw to this latest offering, not liking the textured dial, just my tuppence worth but great to see your review, thanks.
@@rodiow369 Yeah, they have made some great pieces. They've been quiet for a while though. So, it'll be interesting to see that else they come out with next. Thanks for watching.
Articulated for comfort. No other reason. My Hamilton Kahaki field also has this design. It’s purely a comfort thing. It’s also more expensive to produce so a bonus on this watch.
That bracelet isn't ready for prime time. It should have beveled edges on the center links and more thought put into the end links mating to the case. It probably would be better with a nice Tropic strap like the original 62 mas. The dial texture is a little odd and not great maybe an applied name and logo would help. The logo has been rather controversial, I think it is better than the old one and more in keeping with the Nordic sounding name but I guess it comes with its own baggage. Despite all this I like it and hope they continue to refine it with a version 2.
I really like my Heimdallr srp777 homage, but sadly this is disappointing. It actually wore OK on you, but with the clasp and endlinks I think I would wear it on a strap instead. However 50mm lug to lug is too long for me and I'm sad they've dropped the shark.
Date numerals not centred. Male end links out of line with the case edge. Dial texture looks like water inside the watch. Not really a fan of this one.
I love the Thorn and Octopus versions of this watch. But I am not a fan of this interpretation. Usually, I like a nice domed crystal, but I don't think it works here. Also, why ruin that gorgeous bracelet by getting rid of the polished links? There is no point in having three of the same finished center links, just make it one link instead.
The bracelet looks like it’s been taken off a completely different watch and fitted to this one. The five links look strange, and the end links don’t conform to the case properly, with large parts of the case body exposed. Makes it look cheap and tacky, which is a shame as the body of the watch is ok. I suspect it might look better on an FKM strap.
@ The lug to lug and male end links - do like the dial and alignment and case back - would be a great watch with an on the fly clasp adjustment like San Martin. Thank you dear friend. Your channel and presentation is always sharp..!
