I played Halo CE on LASO and it was very hard and unfun and I didn't really want to. But you people kept asking me to do it so whatever. I am a man of the people and whatever makes you happy makes me happy (that's a lie).

that's not a thing in LASO because it would negate the whole challenge by just letting you spam grenades

@@Pandnn216 There is a specific LASO playlist that you have to play for it to count, and the bandana skull is not on it

17:26 Hold on, why do you have Plasma Grenades, shouldn't the Foreign skull not allow having those?
for whatever reason you still have them in levels where you'd normally spawn with them
I mention this in TB because it takes away the starting plasma pistol but not grenades
@@frogarchist i was also wondering the same thing abiut the gun reticle. Like some parts have it and others have it missing
@birdtunes6199 As I explain in the video, the Malfunction skull disables a random part of your HUD. It just happened to be the reticle the first time. Every time I restart or save and quit, it changes. You must have just missed the explanation when I was explaining all the skulls at the very start.

Following your respective video guides I was able to beat Hale CE and Halo 2 under 3 hours and now...finally...also got the Halo CE LASO Playlist achievement. No glitches used outside of the despawn trick on Two Betrayals (which you skipped ironically) and early Gondola in Regret. Now Im pumped to start Halo 2 LASO, hope I wont have to figure out the entire run by myself *wink-wink*.

I wish I were better at Halo speedrun tricks. I have managed to beat all of the MCC games on LASO but the speedruns just kick my ass.
Did you beat them all solo? The iron skull has prevented me from even trying
Yes, if you save and quit on the MCC version and resume checkpoint from the menu, the Skull is nullified essentially. In some ways it's easier in certain parts than having a co-op partner but I would have definitely liked one on parts like the grav lift room fight in truth and rec, lol.

PC Glitchless Solo is torture beyond comprehension
So you can quit out right as you die in laso, and if you go back to the Playlist and hit resume you will have a checkpoint saved. That'll save you so much trouble for the rest of the Laso challenges in different Halos. I can't imagine having a perfect run in Laso I died so many times doing all of the Laso's! 😂
Never mind just got to Truth and Reconciliation. Literally the worst mission ever! 😂

A tip for LASO runs. Take a tiny piece of coloured tape or piece of stickynote (or something similar), start up the game normally, lightly stick your tape on the screen where the reticle is. Congrats you now have a reticle that the game cant take away
Wow. Very impressed with how quickly you handled this. Me and my brother did LASO on the Trilogy, but we didn’t know all the tricks. Library was a NIGHTMARE. Took us 7-8 agonizing hours 😂😭
Hey Frog, great video as always. Just curious, but how were you able to have plasma grenades during 343 Guilty Spark? Do you spawn with them on that level? Otherwise shouldn’t foreign prevent you from getting them, or is there something weird with that level?

Mad respect mate, I completed every halo game on legendary expect halo 5 and infinite.
and I also was crazy enough to play dark souls 1, 2, 3... Yeah I've had my fair share of madness I'm keeping my sanity and not touching LASO ever..
I also don't know why but I did not skip anything when I did my legendary run.. all those jackal snipers and bullet sponge knights..
Never knew about the grenade jump on truth and rec. I always just got hit with the Hunter upswing while jumping, and that would normally send me high enough.

Getting onto the ship for Truth and Reconciliation was the hardest thing I've done in a video game save for the prison skip in Gravemind in Halo 2. I recorded every death for LASO for CE-4, and I had over 1,000 screencapped deaths that I have been tossing around the idea of making into a supercut.
Edit: seeing you just completely skip that area hurt my feelings.
Me and my friend played LASO CO-OP and got by easily enough until The Truth and Reconciliation. We could NOT get past the firefight when you first enter the ship

I remember doing CE laso on mcc a few years ago, it was actually the most fun one to do out of all of them besides the library. Still haven’t been able to do halo 2 laso since I play solo but I completed reach, 3 and odst solo laso. Fun times
This is what I'm currently working on as well. I'm on the 9th mission and am trying to learn how to do the flood bump to bypass the whole level.
So far the hardest missions were Truth and Reconciliation and The Library. Both of these are brutal.
Silent Cartographer and Assault on the Control Room were the easiest missions. Silent Cartographer gives you so many supplies and there's no real difficult parts and the banshee grab trick makes Assault on the Control Room super duper easy.

halo ce is such a unique laso, not being able to use covenant weapons + grunt funeral makes for such a unique playpattern compared to the other ones, when i did it a couple years ago i basically just followed halo completionists guides on it was a fun experience i never wanna do again.
But consider,
LASO Extreme Iron
Like regular laso but with iron skull restarting the campaign
theres away around the iron skull. simply puase the game and save and quit before you respond/restart while your death animation is playing. hit save and quit then reload back into the game from the main menu. youll spawn at your last check point
At 10:08 in all my years of playing Halo CE since it launched I have never seen an elite get into a shade turret before the mission Keyes. I didn't know they could.

I remember attempting this years ago and I only beat Pillar Of Autumn and that was enough brutality for me. LASO is the Anti-Fun of all time.
When my friend and I played T&R legendary we determined which of us Keyes was following and had that person sit in the prison block babysitting Keyes while the other cleared the way to the hanger. 😂

My brother and I didn’t know about the ammo backpack reload when we did it coop. Our solution? Melee kill every flood. Save bullets for the carrier forms. Otherwise just melee kill. We hoarded shotgun shells and rockets till the last two ish rooms and burned through it all in a sprint to the Index. I think it took 8 hours for us to get through. Slow and steady, beating every combat form to death.

A memory from 23 years ago. My cousin and I were co-oping Legendary because I wanted to "see the real ending." We spent forever on it as we were young and incredibly bad. After failing over, and over and over and over again on the final mission we managed to make it to the end of the game and saw the infamous 'real ending.' My cousin sat there, stunned.
"We did all that just to see a dude hug an alien?!"
