Ok, I'm going to go ahead and correct everybody who did not understand the spirit behind this style of flying and competition. F3P is in a whole other type of aerobatics and in tune with ultimate precision flying rather than 'smack' flying. It's about executing specific book writen maneuvers in a defined space and in a specific order and you are very strictly judged on that. Very talented and artistic! My two thumbs up!
yes very talented no question but not artistic. this is the book definition of the opposite of artistic. they are literally trying to be non artistic to do everything exactly the same to a crazy precision and identical standard without deviation. the very opposite of artistic.
still though. some crazy talent their. pretty cool to see it all work in such slow methodical motions.
If this is artistic my printer is an artist! They strive to to achieve perfection by performing as rigidly and strictly as possible with no room for interpretation or expression, you could argue that making the craft is an art form but these flights are less ballet more robotic IMHO

Wow! What a nice way to learn fixed wing aerobatics... real life slow motion!
Fantastic... a whole new class of model. rotating the entire wing at the root for control??? And all the elaborate superstructure toward the wing-tips. I can't wait to learn more about the structures and the power/control systems. Congratulations to all involved and all the pilot interviews.
The plane is slow so the control surface have to catch some prop wash on the vertical or stall maneuvers. The structure is of carbon fiber rods to reinforce the spa wise strength and the surface is only Mylar or foam. Drag created by the tube structure is not a serious problem since it is very slow

Explain to Me why a plane You actually would have to try to crash flying really really slow is a challenge ?
Naaaaaaaaaa, I'm just kidding. I've flown rc since 1990 and I appreciate the beauty, skill and workmanship that goes into these. Bravo pilots.

in my opinion much better than those fast indoor planes doing movements in a speed hard even to see what is happening.
Where do I find out more about slow flying? I haven't been able to find much info on these planes. Where can I buy one? What are they made of? Brushed or brushless? I want to fly one of these so bad. Thanks a million for sharing.

Why was there someone standing behind the player?
Would have been easier to watch if the camera zoomed out and caught the whole flight, not the dizziness of following around zoomed in.

Never saw even ONE complete aerobatic maneuver much less a complete flight. Sure saw a lot of people and a bizillion cut aways. Maybe the video should have been called "Watching People Watching Something."

umm.. aerobatics? no...
Horrible video production. Cutting away from the middle of all the acrobatics to shots of people staring...,wow, great idea. And what great interview skills..."What do think of the organization?"........yeah, that's what the public wants to know, How about asking about maneuvers, time and weight requirements, who is winning, who is the best pilot, what are the rules etc.
I find the sport fascinating, but this video is terrible.
