I remember this being the very first stage I selected way back when I first got the game as a kid. Man...I love it. Certainly in my top five all-favorite games. This just may be the best song in the game, but I could be biased. Favorite part: 0:16-0:28
MegaMan 3 music has a special feel to it. It has that "classic Mega Man feel yet straying away from the originals" kind of feel. It's music falls into it's own little place in my MM Music heart. There is Classic (1 & 2) The badass (6, 7, 9, 10) The Meh (4, 5, 8) The X series, and 3. The game itself had its own special feel to it as well. I don't know why 3 stands out to me more than the others. I mean, I love X1, X2, and the majority of the classic series, but 3 is just special to me.

Mega Man 2 and 3 just had absurdly excellent level themes. They were astronomically above and beyond what anyone could expect for the hardware, and lend themselves to decades of remixes and remakes because they were so masterfully composed. Every single person who played one of the games has had at least one of the songs stuck rent-free in their heads on and off for the rest of their gaming lives for good reason.

awesome tune and the level is good also, but I don't like the actual snake man fight. The Mega Man wikia recommends snake man first but he is hard without beating Needle Man first. I always liked Top Man best as a first level.
Plus you can a slew of weapons to help fight against Snake Man's stage, like the Shadow Blade or Hard Knuckle. Besides, after fighting Snake Man, your next target would be Gemini Man, and that's a stage I wouldn't exactly go in empty handed
If you have full life it is fairly trivial. Just go all offense. Shoot him as much as possible and stay on one side so you aren't getting knocked around half the time.
As far as I can tell, this is the logic behind Snake Man's weakness to Needle Man's Needle Cannon: Snakes were often hunted in the past by humans using impaling weapons from a distance, namely bows and arrows, spears and/or javelins. Many snakes can be swift, tricky and/or dangerous, especially venomous ones (like vipers) or constricting snakes (like pythons). In short, killing snakes from a distance was preferred to stay out of danger.
Thought I would not like this game better than Mega Man 2. I talked crap about it a few times until I borrowed it from a friend... I ended up liking this game better than any other Mega Man game. The Music was a factor along with the excellent characters, level design, etc.
This is my favorite stage theme in all of the classic Mega Man games. I would say in the franchise, but that honor goes to Rainy Turtloid from Mega Man X6.
All green and its beauty and the music is great. He is the first picked robot master to go for in 3 for me. Enjoy fight him and dodge his snake. Great theme, stage and boss. This is one of the most favourite stage for me.

Completely agree. Snake Man's not too hard, but takes a bit of strategy (hitting his snakes instead of him), but Top Man's a breeze.
