why is karl never interviewed?! he's super talented, down to earth, funny, absolutely nailed bones and hes even a new Zealander! Come on people, spread the love!
Yeah. Karl is amazing as Bones, but for some reason his performance doesn't garner nearly as much praise as the other actors. I've been watching the original series lately, and I really wish JJ would've kept the holy trinity (Kirk&Spock&Bones) intact. Now, it feels more like Kirk&Spock&Uhura. *smh*
Laura Michelle I couldn't agree more. They only, dare I say, *touched* on Kirk and Leonard's friendship in the 2009 movie, and that was during their days at Starfleet. Uhura has been unnecessarily exploited in these movies because, this is what I think, *everyone* is demanding a strong, female, main heroine. The relationship between Spock and Uhura was over dramatized as well, and I liked it better when it was more of a subtle thing, one that made your eyebrows raise when you found out about it. Good on-screen relationships don't need to be pressed up against the lens, if you get what I'm saying. Just because the media demands for it doesn't mean that one should follow, especially when dealing with such an enterprise as Star Trek (no pun intended)! I am not saying that I don't like Uhura as a character, but she most definitely did not have to nearly replace Bones! The only things you really see of him now is when a "Damn it, man..." can be shoved in. He should be receiving the most praise due to the fact that he got did performance so amazingly, and yet he didn't have a mentor to turn too. Quinto had Nimoy, Pine had Shatner, and so on. Karl Urban did not get that time with Deforest, sadly. Hell, Karl even put his Starfleet class ring on his pinkie as an homage to how Deforest wore a ring on his same finger! Unless someone can give me a *good* counter argument, my statement stands that Karl Heinz Urban's Leonard 'Bones' McCoy was just simply under-appreciated, yet only a select few seem to notice that fact. Excuse the... well, that up there. I do that a lot.
***** Pffft! *waves hand airily* I love a good rant! Especially when it's on something I agree with... that no one else ever seems to talk about! :P I love Zoe Saldana's Uhura and think she did a fantastic job portraying her. But I agree that the romance was well overdone. Especially in the newest film. I wish they would've cut down on some of that and let Karl's Bones shine a bit more, with deeper, more interesting material beyond a few comedic one-liners. He's a talented actor, and it would have been nice to see him stretch his wings (so-to-speak) and be given the opportunity to more fully realize his take on Bones. He did an excellent job with the material he had to work with though. And as you mentioned, without DeForest Kelley to guide him. I just hope the next film gives him -and John Cho & Anton Yelchin too, for that matter- more to work with. Or maybe I just feel this way because I'm a fan of Karl Urban and Bones is my favorite character from the original series. IDK. I just want the holy trinity to remain intact! I also hope there won't be a whole lotta Spock/Uhura relationship drama in film 3. This is supposed to be Star Trek, not The Notebook. I never noticed the ring before! F-ing brilliant! :D To anyone who reads this and may be offended by it: I love Spock(and Zachary Quinto and Leonard Nimoy) and Kirk(and Chris Pine). I'm only critical of JJ Abrams.
He is so gorgeous and charming. I know that the fact that he's gay really doesn't impact any minimal-nearly-nonexistent, delusional chance I had with this man, but damn...
Personally, it's the very old world, classic British charm that he seems to have, it's just so sexy to a hopeless romantic like myself. That and he's a phenomenally talented actor. Also the voice.
I'm not a Star Trek fan, but I loved the new movies. Any old Trekkies who didn't like the new ones mind to tell me why you didn't like it? Mostly tell me about the story. Usually that weeds out the nostalgic factors. I'm not blinded by nostalgia or into jumping in the bandwagon of new things. Example, I prefer: Star Wars: Original Trilogy over Prequel Trilogy. Batman: Nolan over Burton Spider-man: Raimi over Webb Robocop: 1986 over 2014 Nightmare on Elm Street: 1984 over 2010 No preference for either Friday the 13th
hunterkiller1440 I didn't like the new movies because the only thing "Star Trek" about them is the name. It is too much action and barely any human lessons or qualities to be learned. It is a good movie for non-trek fans, probably because it has all of the generic aspects of an action movie.
LaughableCheesecake Interesting thoughts. I like the actions, story, and character developments in them. I know there are a lot of lessons from the television series, but were there any lessons from the old movies?
I really hope the new Star Trek movie incorporates Leonard Nimoy's passing into the plot cause I feel like that would be an amazing tribute to everything he has contributed
It wouldve been nice if Jordan Schlansky ran into Zachary on the set and then Zach told the directors of star trek about this guy he met who'd make a perfect vulcan :)
zach's car was an audi, so it's kind of saying that the mercedes is slow and second to the audi however, since leonard won at the end, it gives a different meaning. Funny but I guess they just wanted to endorse Star Trek and not the cars that time.
I think it's probably the "personality" we see from him during interviews and things like that. We may not actually know him personally, but we can grasp the basics of his personality. For example, he has said that he wants us to refrain from calling ourselves "cumberbitches," because he doesn't want us to disrespect ourselves, which shows that he cares about us. At least that's how I see it. :)
R.I.P. Leonard Nimoy. You have been, and always will be, a legend.
+Snakebloke Quantum Physics agrees with you.
Live Long and Prosper 🖖
Zachary quinto is a great actor! :)
His voice is so calming....
Dammit, this guy's hair makes me jealous as fuck.
"What do you call it? On the internet, when..."
"Viral?"
he's such a grandpa
why is karl never interviewed?! he's super talented, down to earth, funny, absolutely nailed bones and hes even a new Zealander! Come on people, spread the love!
wow that really sucks
WHY DOES NO ONE MENTION KARL IN THESE THINGS.
BONES GOT JIM ON THE ENTERPRISE IN THE FIRST PLACE, DAMN IT.
Dont worry he got enough praise for playing Eomer in Lotr im sure he isnt hurting lol
Sean Ingram-Cotton He didn't get THAT much praise...

Quinto is so underrated.
He is so gorgeous and charming. I know that the fact that he's gay really doesn't impact any minimal-nearly-nonexistent, delusional chance I had with this man, but damn...
I LOVED that spot for Audi! The first time I saw it, I howled with laughter! I hope they had as much fun as it looked like they were having!
He's such an articulate guy :)
Say it right!!! Benedict “cucumber patch”
Zachary, on behalf of nerds everywhere...we don't blame for 'Heroes'. You did the best you could with what you had.
+IggyTthunders He was one of the key reasons the show lasted as long as it did xD Rare is a villian played so well that it makes them likable.
+IggyTthunders It's so true D:
Why would we blame him for being the best thing about the show!?
Ahahah oh my god Leonard and Zachary in the this are hilarious.
Zach looks like a 1920's gangster in this interview
He's the driver? Grandma Scotty Peg! More power to the engines!
Zachary's suit matches the couch
I like how Zach forgot "viral" but then he can pull out "zeitgeist" out of nowhere.
Personally, it's the very old world, classic British charm that he seems to have, it's just so sexy to a hopeless romantic like myself. That and he's a phenomenally talented actor. Also the voice.
From what I've heard from those who have worked with him, he is a phenomenal actor and a down-to-earth human being.
Mort and Conan both met Mr Spock so cool 🤘🏼🤘🏼
I find him so very attractive.
Me too!
Bon voyage, Mr. Nimoy. You will be missed. In the end, the greatest journey one can take is that from which we may never return.
When I see him all i think is Syler!!! LOL
thats exactly how I feel xD
I love you Zachary and that commercial!!!
Leonard and Zachary were hilarious!
2:18 RIP Leonard Nimoy...

"Circa 1632"
Zachary is a huge nerd!

Zachary Quinto. I love you.
Wow, I never saw that commercial until now. So good!
The car Quinto drives(which is not shown) is the audi, the Mercedes is Nimoy's car.
I SAW HIM ON BROADWAY IN THE GLASS MENAGERIE!
That gif is the greatest thing ever!!
Marry Christmas!

Star trek before these movies.....were about characters, philosophies, and went much beyond action scenes.
The movies were action movies set in space.
AKABoondock19 I was referring to the old movies vs new movies rather than the TV show.
Ahh well the star trek movies are basically the same as the shows were
great actor:) love him!!!
silas or sylas was a badddddass. got to be one of the best tv villains i have seen
I can't get over the fact they all went to Hooters! Hahaha.
Leonard nimoy😭😭😭😭😭rip to a legend
Oh, that ending just made the whole video 100x better. XD
They are both really good pairs of eyebrows aswell.
One of my favorite actors
The BEST character on Heroes!!!!
If Sean Connery and Liam Neeson had a baby.. it would sound like Leonard Nemoy.
I was feeling really good about my first car. Just got it a week ago. It's a Buick Lesabre...I have a grandma car lol
I haven't seen the new star trek but i love him in heroes.😊
Quinto is so talentef

I always thought the same thing back when Heroes was on . Loved that show!
Very true!
FascinatingFlounder omg yessss
That was a funny Audi commercial.
It wouldve been nice if Jordan Schlansky ran into Zachary on the set and then Zach told the directors of star trek about this guy he met who'd make a perfect vulcan :)
2:40 great bonding....
Holy shit the ending was hilarious.
Reminds me when IGN was drunk and called him Benedict Cumberbath.
I'm a proud Cumbercookie of Cumberbatch.
Haha awesome! !
zach's car was an audi, so it's kind of saying that the mercedes is slow and second to the audi however, since leonard won at the end, it gives a different meaning. Funny but I guess they just wanted to endorse Star Trek and not the cars that time.
i want to see Conan interviewing Sherlock
yea he is
He looks like George McFly from back in the '50s.
Hello Mr Sylar
"What do they call that, on the internet, when something gets real crazy?"
"VIRAL?"
whoa no one recognized benny in the audience :/
I just realized during this interview that Zach's face looks like a cross between a shrew and the rock star Prince.
