Grian was surprised he didn’t say a single thing in the first two minutes and a bit. I was surprised he started talking. Everything just felt so tense. 100% understandable.
Grian, it's SUPER important to remember to check the top right corner of each card to know how many are allowed in your deck. A 6th treasure hunter card is null because only 5 per deck are allowed, and stuff like that.
Hey Grian you should ask Tango for a refund of Run 3, the hopper minecart wasnt in the correct position, meaning you definitely should've gotten the artifact on that run. He has since fixed it, but just to let you know bdubs got a refund as well since he got the same artifact location.
and to think Tango was worried that no one would ever take the spider path let alone willingly take, cut to three weeks since launch and everyone agrees its probably the best path to take
At some point you mentioned that there is no point looking for a key when treasure hunter hasn't been played -- but treasure actually slowly drops regardless, unlike embers which don't drop at all without an ember card. so its still worth looking around for treasure drops when treasure hunter hasn't been played. Also, are you hitting your common card limits? There can only be at most 5 of each common cards in your deck. (Check the number on the top right of the card, it tells you how many of it you can have in your deck!)
He had 6 Treasure Hunters on run 10, but Tango has built-in card limiters anyway. Still kind of silly to purchase the 6th treasure hunter and sneak cards.
I was thinking the same things, he definitely has/had? a misunderstanding about how treasure works. It always passively drops in the dungeon, embers are the only thing you need the cards to trigger. I do believe he did have too many common cards, but Tango explained it to him in a livestream.
53:45 that would make an incredible animatic. Where one moment the hall is empty. then it dims, and when it brightens; the Warden in just standing there… menacingly
Agreed. You should even see a benefit now in these games. There were several times you stopped to listen for "dings" long past the time it would have taken. The map would have told you "all had been dropped". If you don’t have a full understanding of how it works or what its benefits are, talk it over with the other Hermits or even Tango. There are others who have a misconception of its use and the tick marks.
Don't test your compass throwing in level 3. Only drop your compass when you are sure you are on top of the hopper. Dropping item is noise and the warden will come investigate.
1:01:56 you get up there using a card. "Bounding strides" i think it was called, and it gives you jump boost for awhile. The same card can be used on the bottom floor of the crypt to get to a button that gives you a key. Said button is behind the big table.

@@riuphaneNot OP but id like some explanation on how clank works, i've got a general understanding of hazard and treasure but still not too sure what clank actually does? and im guessing stumble has something to do with clank? As well as those repair boxes, not too sure what they're for yet
@@Mushie_Mayhem clank is generated by moving through the dungeon, getting your artifact (3), and a few cards (including stumble, which generates 2). There are a lot of shriekers set up with skulk sensors through the dungeon. They use randomizers to determine if they are active during each run (and can change mid run), but generally whenever you hear a shrieker go off, a clank is queued up. If there is clank block, one will be removed and the tip toe sound will play. If no block, then clank increases, gradually increasing the heartbeat. At maximum clank several things happen. First, treasure and embers stop dropping. Second, every clank generated (including the one that maximized the clank) will expose evokers, which summon vex and can cast a short range attack spell (looks like a wave of bear traps). Lastly, though I don't know the exact details, I believe additional clank also generates hazard (as well as potentially exposing more evokers). On the lower levels (3 and 4, aka black mines and burning dark respectively), "agro net" is fully engaged, which makes it so any sound on the level is relayed throughout the level to all the wardens. Hopefully that explains clank. It's meant to be the companion to hazard, forcing players to balance speed and stealth. As for the repair kits, I don't want to spoil the surprise, but both Hypno and Etho have posted videos showing what they do and how amazing they can be!
Tango posted a how to play decked out video, But clank is generated by skulk sensors throughout the dungeon (accompanied by shriekers) At a certain level (I think 20?) of clank, vex show up. Clank block will prevent the next clank from generating, and whenever clank block is used it’s accompanied by a little tip toe tune Stumble cards generate 2 clank and are randomly shuffled into your deck when you play. When the deck is empty you’re just drawing stumbles. Finding your artifact generates like 2 or 3 clank Also the repair boxes are a little decked out secret, they go to a certain spot in level 2. Let’s see if Grian finds it when he has the kit!
@@Sir_Master a few technical corrections: -the estimated clank to max is 15, though tango has never said on camera exactly what it is. -grabbing the artifact currently generates 3 clank -stumbles are added every 2 min, not randomly
Impulse has said he doesn't pay any attention to it, but I am sure he will once he starts to go deeper and run longer. You'll notice the better runners with more cards have started to see the value of the dynamic GUI. They are consistently checking their stats as events occur.
The map only tells you when the hazard and clank is queued to be blocked - not its current level (and if there is additional chance for treasure - not if it will definitely drop) so in more dynamic run (Grian is far from being pro and simply dies mostly from ravs and environment not vex) its not that useful. But sure, it would be nice to see the map and also hear the custom audio :/
45:00 Not sure if you have since cleared this up with Tango or the other Hermits, but treasure drops passively in the dungeon regardless. Treasure Hunter only increases the drop rate. Only Frost Embers require a card to trigger their drop potential.

Sooo much key access without having to give up clank security too. And it's probably the only card that will help get a key for multiple floors at once.
I think otherwise. Grian is speedrunning so there's no point in getting an iffy card like that when the only time it'll work for him is when he's looking for keys. Better to get something that guarantees he'll get a lot of treasure.

@36:50 and @37:02 the key had presented itself early {if only the player was looking for a key} ALSO, HEY GRIAN, you need to look at the top right corner of your cards in your deck, that number is how many of that card your are allowed to bring to play. the first 4 normal cards are a maximum of 5.
I'm still wondering if Decked out could be turned into a boardgame or something... I think that'd be really neat. I just think Tango has so much promise and know-how for games that I'd love to see more people (even those outside the minecraft community) appreciate him

It's not too late to at least make leaderboard if you're not going for the win. Keralis' improvement and deck have shot up in the span of 1 phase. Keep on keeping on G!
That level 3 run legit broke my heart a little bit. I was so proud and wanted you to make it out so bad. When you do complete a level 3 run please put it in a main hermitcraft video as a victory lap
There is a move called sneak jumping, where the player holds sprint while shifting, in shifts and jumps immediately, and shifts before they land on the ground. If done correctly you get 90% of the speed of sprint jumping, without making any sounds
THat level 3 run was insane! If not for your clank you could have actually made it out I think! You keep getting better and better every week! Also, remember that you can only have 5 of each common card in your deck so even if you don't think an uncommon or a tome is worth it you should still take them when you get the chance is you've maxed out on common cards.
1:02:05 @Grain you need the jump boost card. Ask Pearl about it. She did already push the button which opens up a secret tunnel near the stairs with the hazard ice blocking the path (lvl 1). Though I question Tango on the usefulness considering the playing of such an effect is random and short lived.
a note: Due to the way the randomizers work for the shriekers, if a shrieker is active on run, you can bet it will probably be active again. The randomized state changes over time, and is *not* randomized per run afaik edit: I'm so confused why you didn't get nimble looting. Practically every single run you end up blocking 3 or 4 clank in a row, sometimes 5 or 6. Each one of those would produce 2 treasure drops. That would be so unbelievably powerful, especially considering you could theoretically keep it active as long as you want, so long as you don't generate clank without a block
34:36 Don't worry, Grian. You're not the first hermit and you won't be the last to realize this. xD I am enjoying your Dungeon runs a lot! You've definitely gotten better and I look forward to seeing your Phase 4!
Let's freaking GO Grian! Last phase ended on such a bleak note, and this phase felt like you really started figuring stuff out! You're gonna crush it in phase 4!
I'm only half way through but if you choose the spider route, don't stop for the berries. You're close enough to give them time to spawn. Always skip the berries there.
Grian has got to use his map to see if he should consider to conserve his clank blocks or not. If you don't have blocks available, you should try not to trigger clanks.
this has been incredible to watch, and see you learn. run 7 was tragic, you really had perfect implementation and great turning it into max clank practice ^^

Yeah, he's got one too many "Treasure Hunter"s and "Sneak"s (pause at 1:47:38)
If decked out made even Grian FORGET to speak
This game worth to play
I love how during the first run I thought "Grian is very quiet" and then you proceeded to comment on that yourself lol
That ravager slowly sliding into view in front of you at the end of the first run is the best moment of any run I've seen to date. 😂
I'm still wondering if Decked out could be turned into a boardgame or something... I think that'd be really neat. I just think Tango has so much promise and know-how for games that I'd love to see more people (even those outside the minecraft community) appreciate him
is it already based on a board game
Well do I have a Board Game for you!
Its Clank
He said in a stream that it wouldn’t, partly bc it’s inspired by the board game clank and there would be copyright issues
❤ SO PROUD - you did so well there! All the amazing running around and parkour skills were *chefs kiss* so much fun to watch! All that ravioli talk made me super hungry as well lol
Skill issue slowly creeping toward you was hilarious 🤣
Is it because you can't stop watching, and the due date approaches nearer and nearer
The key he walked passed twice in run 5 and then said "please give me a key".. ahh, lol. I love watching your Decked Out runs. Its not over until its over. Thank you for all the content you make.
It's not too late to at least make leaderboard if you're not going for the win. Keralis' improvement and deck have shot up in the span of 1 phase. Keep on keeping on G!
When you turn around and see a ravioli about to headbutt you
7:01 THAT, is the most hilarious moment of Decked Out 2 so far. There's some funny ones before, but this one takes the cake! 🤣
As someone who watched week 4’s runs before week 3’s, the absolute *anxiety* this video gave me was incredible, you’ve definitely improved a lot!
Grian had 3 keys and left 2 keys on the ground in run 1. I could only imagine what Gem would say if she was watching lol
That level 3 run legit broke my heart a little bit. I was so proud and wanted you to make it out so bad. When you do complete a level 3 run please put it in a main hermitcraft video as a victory lap
36:52 The most disappointing thing is that he probably died because he didn't notice this key :(
There is a move called sneak jumping, where the player holds sprint while shifting, in shifts and jumps immediately, and shifts before they land on the ground.
The ravager just slowly peeking his head around the corner on the first run was hilarious
Grian, I’m pretty sure the compass location on the 3rd run was right there
Maybe talk to Tango and see if there was any issues with it
if Im remembering correctly Iskall had one that went to that same spot that didnt work, had the lodestone blue glow and everything
I think this is the location outside the spider tunnel that is right above where g was
Iskall and Etho I think had the same problem it’s a broken spot
There isn't a location there, though there is one close, and it is right below part of the spider den, so the location would have been up
I remember on x’s run with tango,i think tango said that the compass was above/below,outside of the spiders den?cant fully remember tho
Grian you're making me want ravioli for dinner tonight with how many times you've said it 😂
1:33:07 I'm surprised he didn't give any thought towards the Evasion card, assuming he didn't hit the limit of that one in his deck already.
1:02:05
@Grain you need the jump boost card.
The randomized state changes over time, and is *not* randomized per run afaik
edit: I'm so confused why you didn't get nimble looting. Practically every single run you end up blocking 3 or 4 clank in a row, sometimes 5 or 6. Each one of those would produce 2 treasure drops. That would be so unbelievably powerful, especially considering you could theoretically keep it active as long as you want, so long as you don't generate clank without a block
same!! especially seeing as hes either maxed out or close to a lot of the common cards he has at this point, I really wish he had of just taken it 😢
Watching a 1 min video: ❌
Watching grian play decked out for about 2 hours: ✅
Him not seeing the key here was painful considering this run's outcome. 36:58
Yep lol thats the run he blamed RNG and said he wasn’t playing badly at all.
34:36 Don't worry, Grian. You're not the first hermit and you won't be the last to realize this. xD
I am enjoying your Dungeon runs a lot! You've definitely gotten better and I look forward to seeing your Phase 4!
Grian only buying Common cards and maxing it out with out him knowing is killing me from rhe inside
When he was eating even in the spider path all i felt was pain😢
Woww that first level 3 run! And you had TFC's artifact 🙏Beautiful.
This is acctualy quite smart to put out a video of all the decked out parts because i stoped watching hermitcraft in march.
It's fun watching Grian run by a key at 36:51, and then sped the next 5 min looking for a key.
Grian remember there is a number of how much cards of thay kind can be in a deck so only 5 of each common cards can be in a deck so dont buy too many
Stopping to grab those berries outside or eat in the spider room is fatal because it means they have time to spawn in front of you.
Seeing Grian choose to not get Nimble Looting just hurts so much.
Think of the Content Grian! Everyone has common cards, you could've been the only person with Nimble Looting!
That first Black Mines run was so fun. Creepy wardens! High suspense!
Now to go eat some ravioli.
An old friends pickaxe! That’s tfc’s artifact!!!
So sad he didn’t make it out with it, first hermit I’ve seen to pick it up though…
Oh that Run 5 pained me so much because you ran past a key to get berries 36:52. But wow, sitting here, watching this in spurts, and I'm unsure how you can play it. I get so turned around watching ya run.
is it only me or does the stability card being anounced sound like "stumbility"
You are still so cool in the dungeon Grian ! Dont worry about other players, you are doing great!
Also dont forget about the limit on common cards!
@50:20 that was a CLUTCH key, man...
