It's finally time to bid farewell to my first big-girl job. It's been such an amazing journey filled with both ups and downs, but I wouldn't have it any other way. This experience has shaped me into the person that I am today, and I will be forever grateful. Thank you for being here with me during this chapter of my life and I can't wait to share more with you in the future.

I can't describe how glad I was to hear from you these well-thought out musings about your life going from planned to unstructured with such grace and positivity. TH-cam is truly a blessing for me to learn from someone like you, even if we are a thousand miles apart. You inspire me to do something about my situation, which i could say is similar to yours. I am not at risk of layoffs, and i feel the survivor's guilt of wanting to "lay myself off", but now i've learnt that if i do not provide myself grace, i could never expect others to provide it to me as well. thank you :)

Thanks for sharing your last week with us! I can imagine how difficult and bittersweet it was. This whole vlog brought back memories of when I left my first company. I started as an intern while in college and stayed with the company for three years before I felt it was time to move on. I LOVE IT so much. And saying goodbye to my team was one of the hardest things to do. Plot twist, I went back to that company after 18 months and am still here four years later 🙈 I’m wishing you the absolute best on your next journey!!
I quit my job in tech consulting back in 2022 and took 1.5 years off to travel through europe and south america solo and it was the best time of my life because of how much fun and how much I grew from it. Feeling nervous is normal. You will be fine. Enjoy this time and excited to see what you do with all the time you have!!!

I’m kind of going through the same journey. My last day is a month from now. No one from work knows except, of course, my supervisors. It’s crazy to think that I won’t be working the same job after this month but I am excited for the new journey. I’m so proud of you Julia I love your vids and you’ve been such an inspiration. Really interesting that you quit within two weeks in the U.S. I'm from Germany and the common time to leave after you announced it is three months. Which is hard if you want to leave baldy but it also gives you some time to make a clean cut for your team.

I hadn’t make smoothies a long time, but I bought a Chefwave milk maker to make cashews milk and coffee.
That sounds delicious 🤤
If you ever go to the Walgreens, their own brand, “Nice” Cashews and Almond often on sale for buy 1 get 1 and is Cheaper than Trader Joe’s.
Just use about 1 or 2 teaspoon of cashews or almonds for 10 oz of water, the machine will make for you within 8 minutes to 12 minutes.
Chefwave is actually an ODM brand of Joyoung milk maker. The Chefwave brand is owned by a Brooklyn local store, Focus Camera owner.

I’m curious to know if your partner was supportive of your decision. I ask because I actually went through a break up around the same time I quit my previous role. Looking back on it - both were the best things that could have happened to me. My ex was super negative about me quitting a toxic work environment, despite me not asking him for a dime!! Just wanted his support! We lived apart anyways! 😂😂 Anywho - I just see how sad you seem lately and hope you know that a lot of us out here are super proud of you! It takes guts to put your mental health first! Shared your reels with friends!

my family is in New York so if possible I would love to stay close to them! If they move, I’ll probably move 😂
2 weeks notice after 5 years working is so weird to me. My company (germany) has a 6 months notice period. Usually it's 3 months. I can't imagine someone just quitting after 2 weeks, the team would fall apart.
I wonder too, but only employees who stay can comment. At my company / department (US), there’s only so much responsibility transition that can be done in 2 weeks (not much knowledge sharing). Then the rest of the team just try to figure it out as things come up. 😢
@EmilyLe2909 I think it's common in US to have such a short notice period. In Germany it works 2 ways, to protect us from being fired and without a job in a span of a few weeks and to have a transition period so the company can find replacement. It all depends on the role, but some people are not so easily replaced.
