That’s a pretty AMAZING SOLUTION. Unfortunately it’s a costly one but I love the creativity and solution. I have a 100 amp service. I just added an expansion box and installed a 20 amp 220 line. If I were to get another Tesla I might consider something like this. Thanks for sharing
I kind of surprised that a house that new doesn't have 200A service; I thought houses built later than the mid-1990's all had it. Thanks for talking about the expense of adding 200A service to a house; people seem to assume its relatively cheap to do and it definitely is not. When I checked into it, it was $7500 here in the US so obviously I didn't do that so I'm using a 24A switch box between my dryer and the Tesla and its working fine.
It probably make sense to update the title of the video Powershare - is now something that allows you to power your home or anything else from your vehicle (as of today - Cybertruck only) And what you demonstrate on the video is called Load Share. BTW, in the installation guide Tesla recommends against switches like that... man, if you can afford 5 teslas in your household - you should be able to invest in a higher amperage service... if you're so committed to the EVs and going to use them for years to come... anyway it is a matter of time when you will need to do that.
Thanks for the video. I enjoy your channel. I picked up my new 2024 Model X 2 weeks ago. I think you should invest in 200 amp service since you are a Tesla family with 5 cars! You will recoup some of those costs when you sell your home assuming most homes in the subdivision have 100 amp service. Wish your electric company would help pay for it.
Congratulations! honestly at this time our charging is enough and no issue but definitely if 3 cars need full charge at the same time everyday then 200amp is a must but at this time the setup is great and I 100% recommend it.
Is the main charger the regular wall connector or the universal one with power share? Is the power share wall connector required to split the power to multiple chargers?
Does the power on the wall chargers goes off completely when the AC or Dryer comes on? If so, are you worried that the charging stops abruptly and the wall charger go off and on all the time plues rebooting and trying to get online?
Tesla wall connectors (NACS connector only, Gen 3) are selling for $450 at the moment, the Tesla Universal wall connector (NACS connector with built in J1772 adapter) are $580 and I don't think have had any price drops yet. The (non-universal) wall connector price has been up and down, I bought my 2 for $350 each a year and a half ago. It's also worth noting that you can buy adapters to use a non - universal Wall connector with J1772 cars. I've used ones from TeslaTap for years without any issue.
Once again, another Tesla Wall Connector installed by "professional" electricians who can't even follow the installation instructions and installed it wrong! I couldn't even watch past the installation of the TWC on the front stone wall...just wrong. READ THE INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS!!!

Thanks for watching
Or you could get a Grizzl-E Duo. It has dual connectors and will PowerShare 40A.

It took me forever to find a electrician that would install another 60amp breaker. They didn’t know anything about power sharing. Drove me nuts.

An easy start on your AC will help reduce the startup load and may be enough peak load reduction to keep your tesla's charging.

You should put your home on Plug Share! Chargers for everyone! 😂😂😂
😂
Great information. Thanks for the video
Glad it was helpful!

Very interesting
Very!

Please see the date of the purchase
