He acts as if he doesn’t belong anywhere else but in the movie world
He does belong in the movie world
YES!! He does it so flawlessly too
Wow beautifully said!!!🥺😍
I feel you caught something true, but doesn’t that also mean he seems less open about himself? He’s a terrific actor but, I don't know, he doesn't give me the impression of striving to be as vulnerable and honest as possible. Philip Seymour Hoffman was the best to me in that regard.
I can’t speak for PSH but the way Mr. DiCaprio does it... It’s like he needs it
He makes every movie he’s in 10x better

Cant believe his role as Arnie Grape wasnt focused on, his acting at that age is something that few can aspire to achieve even with decades of experience
I agree. He was phenomenal in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape.
The only actor to be able to pull off "full retard" :)
It definitely seemed to me like people did focus on and were impressed by that performance. I mean, he was Oscar nominated for it. Didn't win, though, and he should have. He was soo good and moving as Arnie. I'll never forget it.

Same for me. I don't like seeing known faces in a movie because that makes me think of other roles they were in on other movies but the only exception is Leonardo DiCaprio. Almost everytime I just remember him in real life only when the movie ends.
People always criticize Leo for his "over-acting" on extreme feelings like anger, but they just ignored how well Leo could express subtle and diverse feelings only by his facial expressions and without any lines.
And they forget, that in real life, people with a lot of feelings expression exist
They criticise him? Who the fuck are those imbeciles?
I honestly just found out people criticized leo in acting

@Random Someone aw shame. You're still a crybaby for complaining about how this world is. Some people are naturally better looking than others and that is simply just how the world works. Leo’s performance as Gatsby was so underrated
The only aspect that made the movie enjoyable.
Tobey's wooden performance & jay z in the soundtrack. I know it's luhrmann's style but jesus christ this wasn't the project for him
I think it has a lot to do with the movie itself, containing lots of cgi effects.. the scenario as well, having some complexities but remaining a bit less interesting than all his other movies i would say. Gatsby is a classic dont get me wrong, although I’ve only watched it once, but i don’t think it’s his best performance. It might sound a bit harsh but when you see the movies he has done throughout his career, other movies are a bit superior in terms of complexity, scenario and acting.
An actor is not solely rewarded for his acting, or remembered for his performance, but also for the movie itself.
Leonardo is the best actor of our generation without a doubt, and even though he’s not my favorite i still see him as being the best of all time to this day, but for me other movies like Django, the Revenant, the Departed and the wolf of wallstreet have a deeper complexity in the acting, more interesting stories too, that keep you on the edge, and i think that’s why people like these performances better than the one in Gatsby.
@@mobileusermobileuser981 i cant think of anyone more « classy » and charismatic than Leo who could have played Gatsby honestly.. maybe you have another name for the role, but i cant think of anyone else as classy.
I think it suits him so well to play the bourgeois type. He’s got that handsome face, blonde, blue eyes, proper on himself, cocky smile, and his impulsivity in his acting is always dead on. When Leo passes from a passive to an explosive line or behavior, i think no one does it best than him besides me, but i cant act on purpose 🤣
Am sure, an actor like him will never be forgotten. People from even a hundred years from now on will watch his movies.
Most people already forgot the stars and great actors of the past. He'll be remembered for a time and then he'll be forgotten as it is everything as times goes by.

The Great Gatsby is one of his underrated films but he is very excellent in it. Everyone was also great in it too. It brought to life the book, which other directors had previously really screwed up.
The 20's was a racist time, a time of wealth and superiority, as well as a promiscuous time, and many film adaptations fail to capture that. Baz Luhrmann stuck to the book with many lines, and I can only name a few things that didn't make it to the movie.

He’s in top tier now. You can line him up alongside Brando, Pacino, Nicholson, Denzel, De Niro, and Hanks. They all doesn’t need to be in a Superhero movie just to sell tickets. Rarely that you’d come to cinema just to see ‘em “become the characters” that they play.
Leo is one amongst the rarebreed that you’d be excited to see on whatever film he’s into, because the movie is not his product. He is the product himself. There’s something in him, same as with Denzel Washington, that you’d come pay for a ticket just because it’s a Leo or a Denzel movie. I can’t remember a time that Leo gave a razzie performance, not a single one.

••• •• -•• Word I respect that, but he just wasn’t given the time to fully come into his own and truly become an all-time great as he would have. It’s just that if Daniel Day Lewis had such immense respect for Heath’s craft, then surely that means something..

Lol not even close
This is so beautiful and touching...i don't think the world will see another actor like Leo.
The Aviator is an amazing film. Leo’s acting was impeccable. I cannot imagine another actor in this role. I grew up watching Leo, first in Romeo and Juliet, when I was in junior high school. I was 12 years and desperately in love with him 😩 He was so handsome and and the movie was amazing. This was before he blew up in Titantic.
His acting is great and all, but have you seen his memes?

it took barely 30 seconds of this to burst me into tears, this man is more than just insanely talented, i don't even have a word for it.
I believe it’s the combination of Leo’s acting, the song and the way everything is put together and edited that makes us feel this way.
I dunno why but his acting makes me cry as well because he’s so good
@@calitri-boost the sound track in this video with his brilliant acting scenes make u feel like crying. Only true art like Leo's actingcan make someone feel like crying
@@chaitanya252525 yes!
So genuine..his art and real person in acting are hard to differentiate, very talented and exceptional quality Leo gives each and everytime... and his pursuit of excellence is awesome. Beauty all around Leo.
He’s one of my favourite actors, he’s phenomenal in every film
He deserves an Oscar just for these 3 minutes of acting
Hello my beautiful great fans , thanks for your support, how are you doing, I hope everything is fine, you can write me in the hangout app with my.. email.DLeonardo2231@gmail.com
People think he is famous for "Titanic". But he has a heck lot of other mesmerising movies with phenomenal acting skill. At first when I watched "The great gatsby" and "The aviator" I was awestruck by his emotion evoking acting skills. He will always be my fav no matter he has any Oscar or not. He definitely deserve more than one oscar. I hope I can meet him someday and it’s in my bucket list. Thanks
The Departed, Wolf of Wall Street, Inception, Gangs of New York. All incredible movies. All have one thing in common, HIM.
Starting from This Boy's Life followed by What's Eating Gilbert Grape. I know that time he's not some pretty boy label only.
I agree with you. Titanic is amazing on its own, but it is not Leo's greatest role. He has had many other more complex roles where the circumstances offered him to use a larger "colour palette".
@@friezasultimatepower9951 To be fair, Daniel Day Lewis over shadowed him in Gangs of New York.
Leo is one of a kind. Incredible actor, humble artist. A legacy of de Niro & Pacino. Perfect handsome Italian artist.💕💕💕💕
So many amazing Leo movies have left the chat in this video.
The most profound & amazing actor of our time.
When this guy will go I can’t tell you how much i’m gonna cry..
@remy But he will he is 40 just about 50 years or less..
That is so sad. I mean you crying at the idea of Leo dying, not Leo dying
2:27 there was a day where i cried exactly like this when something happened that i never thought it would and i cried for my mom who is 1000 of kms away from me and emotions that leo expressed was soo genuine and realistic!!! no wonder he's such a great actor
What film was this scene from?
@@lucindamiao722The basketball diaries
Really exactly how we cry
He deserves an Oscar EVERYTIME
These are beautiful. I was waiting for my favorite scene from him in Revolutionary Road. He’s incredibly believable every time, he lives in his character and in the moment.
