Ash was only looking after her until they could find a way to return her to her own world, with her own family. Just like Lapras. If you look at it, the alolan league was new and doesn't have much of competitive trainers and considering ash has been battling in 7 regions, it was truly a win for ash. Also considering he had a powerful roster of Pokemons

@@joten81 orange islands is an official league tournament, but with a different set-up.
Basically, Orange Islands were the original Alola. Before the concept of new regions, more leagues, new species etc was introduced.
So it never really got the attention it should've gotten because, at the time (and now still) and because of that people saw it as a filler arc. Which is ironic because people were complaining that Ash never won a league or competition, for years!
When he literally won the 2nd league he participated in, and several smaller competitions, after that as well. As well as the Battle Frontier. He's even beat legendaries, caught mythicals, encaged special evolution, has tons of rare pokémon.
He may have been the same age all these years, but so what? I never understood why that was a problem either.
One Piece has been around since '98. Luffy has aged two years, through a 2 year time skip, about 5-ish years ago irl. Probably more.
So stop complaining already.

It took 3 generations for Ash to realise that he can let more than 1 starter evolve into final evolution (Infernape, Torterra) This team and the one in 14:24 were his most powerful of all time imo

@TechHYPE honestly I've had so much fun with this season that I think every episode was worth watching. I couldn't even get through episode 2 of sun and moon. Ash is actually catching Pokémon that have a hope of winning.
@TechHYPE I miss gyms to but I feel that though I miss it, I feel that the reason why I have trouble getting through Pokémon series in the first place was because of the same thing happening every episode. Plus Ash is already battling gym leaders around the region for ranking. This series has already peaked my interest in the Unova region episode in the future, a region in which I despised the Pokémon.

@TechHYPE It's great now coz you don't have to wait a week, watch it and the league arc will be so satisfying, I hated it after episode 20 coz all the new stuff was consumed so fast but I caught up (after rewatching the whole series) when the raw was just 10 episodes from the finale and damn it was nice.

The Pokémon in the original series remains classic. Arguably not the strongest line up but were all great in their own ways. So nostalgic!

I love how Pokemon journeys isn’t just about ash going into the galar region and entering the galar league , but rather , a travel through the world , and we will get to see many of ash’s old companions and pokemon .

It'd be cool to see his final spot on the new team change as he goes from region and uses some of the pokemon he had or released there. Because released normally means that he allows them to stay in the wild but can still use them. Also Manley and squirrel are still training it's probably a lvl100 blastoise with perfect stats now. I'd love to see Gary's journey. The moment I saw he had an Umbreon in Johto. Now you look at his team, owns some of my favourites. Houndoom, Electivire, Scizor, Alakazam, and a Kindgdra. He's only Golduck, Lucario, Heracross and a Venasaur from having my favourite 10.

has anyone else noticed the alola league started with 151 trainers as in the original 151 pokemon and the second round where the tournament started when there was 16 trainers left, as in the place ash got in the original pokemon league?
Technically, Ash is only traveling with Pikachu, Gengar, and now, Riolu.
Dragonite is always at Sakuragi Park, just like Mr Mime.
I think he keeps Gengar at his side because of it's abandonment issues.
And Riolu will most likely be the main focus for training episodes and becoming a new special pokémon
