Now I’m in my late 40s and living a less stressful life. I guess it stopped now as I am keeping myself relaxed 😎 Hope u find the solution to your hair loss.
I’m a retired hairdresser, after 40 plus years, also taught hairdressing school. So happy to hear this hairdresser stress the fact, that, keeping the clients hair from damage is vital. That should be the motto, do no harm. Using chemical products, to relax the hair. To color adds more stress, high lift products, adds more stress, using any heating tool, adds more stress. We must think of that no matter our hair type. Less is better than more. Keeping hair in good condition takes thoughtful moves to keep it healthy at home, and in the stylist chair. I had a BoB for about 2 decades! I loved it! But now that I finally grew it out, I don’t think that I will ever get another one. I’m loving this chapter of my life and for me my hair is a huge part of my personality so I don’t want to revisit the past. But I love seeing them on other ladies. It is definitely a timeless hair style.
Born in ‘91.. babeee my mom kept a French roll in my teenaged, relaxed, mixed textured hair. I looked 10 years older but it was sooo beautiful smelling like spritz & that ole black gel 😂 take us back girl!
Another trick for us girls with oil spread issues-I use corn starch and a nice fluffy makeup brush and hit my scalp in sections, then comb it all out going down the hair- it refreshes like crazy, be careful about getting it all out. Also, pin curl versus wrapping helps to keep the oils from spreading and making your hair flat and lifeless (I had to pull out all my 90's tricks to get this hair together)- I just got my hair cut in a bob on Thursday- Love it! Never going back to long hair-Nope!
You have such a lovely, gentle way of working with your clients hair. Very attractive. And that part where you give your client time to pls oh her hair…thats so great. Often I feel I have to just get up and go ad the next client is waiting.

When you said the 90’s cut ! That’s exactly what I’ve been wanting to see! I was a 90’s teen so that mushroom cut or the mullet was IT! The wrap n tap always got it right. But the maintenance was no fun. It was beyond an ackward grow out . You were gonna look like somebody’s mama for a min while it caught up to the back.
Hi Key! I am so glad I found your channel as I’ve learned so much. Once I learned to pass the hair only once while straightening the hair, it’s been a game changer for me. 1.) I know now that too much heat was being applied to my hair. 2.) The blow drying stage was not done correctly. 3.) No heat protection was applied before blow drying or styling. 4.) Products used were not for my hair’s benefit. Thank you for educating us.

But I love a simple, understated French Roll/Twist done by just brushing your hair back, rolling it inwards and pinning it. I haven't done that in a long time but maybe I will now.

I have a mullet right now, will probably keep it. I got it accidentally by shaving the top with an electric favor to 2inches because I couldn’t take care of it anymore long. But kept the back long. I only realised it’s a mullet after I was done, but it looks so good on me I’m keeping it and it’s so easy to take care of. 🥰

Surprisingly cornstarch is also an ok alternative to dry shampoo in a pinch! I thought it would make it ashy but it just absorbed into the hair’s natural oils!
