This was written by Teddy Riley and his people originally for Bobby Brown, but he had rejected it. One of Virgin's marketing people in their U.S. division suggested to George that he'd do some songs with Teddy Riley in order to keep his solo career afloat, particularly in the U.S. where his heroin arrests in Britain had barred him from entering there. Riley, through his then-songwriting-partner Gene Griffin, simply gave George the songs that had all been rejected by Bobby Brown.
