Chick's 'Further Explorations' on Concord Jazz is a compillation of the week-long residency of which this is the first night, Comparing this set with that 2 CD release, there are some cuts common to both as well as some unique to each. A deep book!
Interesting comment at the beginning. I understood that Miles did write Nardis, but never recorded it; that Bill Evans played on it on Cannonball's album, and that Miles said that Evans was the only one in the group who "got it". None of them are alive today to say otherwise, including Chick Corea. Still interesting to hear this later date from the Blue Note. I'm a big fan of Paul Motian and listen to a lot of sets by a lot of people, just to hear him. Thanks for this.
At the Blue Note ! I didn't know these sessions ! What a joy !😁🥰
