Nothing lasts forever. But the ideas do. Glory to the brave people that gave their life to defend not only the Soviet Union, but their houses, their wifes, their husbands, their sons... their futures. Glory to every factory worker that had to work under the raids of the vicious Axis airforces. Glory to every construction worker that helped rebuild the USSR! Glory! Glory! Glory to the Soviet Union and what it represented! GLORY! GLORY! GLORY! GLORY!
While the state emblem of the USSR rises above Pripyat, the USSR has not yet completely died, it is as if in a lethargic dream. I hope this state emblem is still in place and it never falls.

No, genius. Putin is not even remotely socialist. The USSR is just dead now. You are merely seeing one capitalist nation being predatory towards a smaller, also capitalist one. And obviously, with the fingers of the West all over it. Putin is just an oligarchic son of a bitch. Before the USSR there was no Ukraine at all. Vladimir Lenin separated the republics to be independent and give each culture their own space, and then on top of that a unifying government was placed. I know it sounds weird to compare the USSR to our rival, but think of each republic as a US state, and the Supreme Soviet, entity that controlled it all as the US federal government and union. So, Russia, at least in Soviet constitution, was NOT supposed to rule over Ukraine or take it as its own land.
That's not the reason. After another color revolution, the Ukrainian illegal government began to fire at regions that disagreed with the new policy of Ukraine. These were Donetsk and Lugansk. They, like Crimea, had the strength and guts to express their desires. There was also the Kharkov People's Republic, but it was suppressed. Separatist formations in eastern Ukraine were regularly fired upon by the Ukrainian army. The OSCE did not help. On February 24, Russia recognized the independence of the DPR and LPR from Ukraine and invaded Ukrainian territory.
@@Best-Asian It is. If the motherland was not carved up and broken against the will of the people, Russia and Ukraine would walk together hand in hand as comrades. Once capitalism returned, once inseparable friends became mortal enemies. So many wars would have been avoided had the USSR been preserved as the people wanted.

Why did it have to break up? I used to live in Russia 🇷🇺.
Economic, military, nuclear, political, & social factors. Afghanistan was an essential part of the military factor.
Gorbachev and yeltsin illegally dissolved it. Then bill Clinton rigged the 1996 russian election to stop it from reuniting.
