    I looked at making 'from scratch' and it would have cost me £17 per kg....compared to £8 - £10 'ready made'.....It's a no brainer...but it ready made. I will only make from scratch when I want to offer it as a luxurious product with a higher price tag and I haven't got the demand for it 'yet'....x

      I totally agree with you - Its about my time and how much I can spend on making products from scratch. When I sat down and really looked at how long it takes to make a batch from scratch it was hours to minutes as far as time. I can have a batch whipped up in under 15 minutes when I use the ready made. Thanks so much for your comment & thanks for watching! 😀

      @@theskincandy Aw, totally understandable. I know someone who makes it from scratch and she says it takes her a full day to make the amount that she needs - it just 'ties up' your time too much I think. The ready made base is so much more convenient. Aw, no problem at all, thanks x

    Is your intro pic a representation of whipping again the following day after it sets up? Just wondering if it’s the same product as they look different. I’m a newbie, so a bit confused.

      So the photo was just just for presentation and not the way I use to ship them. This was also taken years ago. It does pipe up very nicely but in my opinion is a waste of time because by the time you pound the whipped soap & sugar scrubs, it does fall quite a bit and piping just takes too long. I don't even make these any longer as they just don't sell in my area. I hope I cleared up come confusion. Thanks for watching!

    This looks lovely. Stephensons states that this base can only have a total of 3% extras added to it, maybe thats why it looks runny??

    • @theskincandy
      @theskincandy  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It pours runny but then thickens up really nicely. I haven't had a batch yet that has stayed runny. I love that it's runny when I pour it into my jars as it make it so much easier. Once I am done with my stash I won't be offering whipped soaps or the whipped sugar scrubs as they haven't been a good seller for me. They are currently available for 50% on my website. www.theskincandyllc.com/collections/home-page-collection/products/foaming-whipped-soap or

    Hi, can you tell me how to covert these percentages used in this recipe to oz please

    • @theskincandy
      @theskincandy  ปีที่แล้ว

      To calculate how much you want to make in oz you will need to take the amount you want to make and then times it by the percentage. So if you want to make 24 oz you multiply 24 by each percentage listed.

    Can you please sharing us the link of the base soap🌺

    • @theskincandy
      @theskincandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The base is from Stephenson's Personal Care: www.stephensonpersonalcare.com/products/crystal-opc-foaming-bath-butter. There are links on their site to where their products are sold all over the world. I bought mine in the U.S. at Bulk Apothecary: www.bulkapothecary.com/search.php?page=4§ion=product&search_query=whipped%20soap%20base

    Hi. U have not told the recipe for the new beginners like me 😊

    • @theskincandy
      @theskincandy  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks so much for watching! I listed the recipe in the description box but here it is as well:
      My Recipe:
      Stephenson's OPC Whipped Soap Base: 87.75%
      Apricot Kernel Oil: 6.25%
      Fragrance or Essential Oil: 3%
      Preservative: 1%

    • @resu5hq0
      @resu5hq0 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      The percentages only add up to 98%. Is something missing?

    • @theskincandy
      @theskincandy  4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      ** @resu5hq0 OMG I am a huge dork! I did not write the percentages in right and I have modified my recipe since I posted this video. Here is my new formulation for the Whipped soap as well as making it into a sugar scrub:
      Whipped Soap:
      Whipped Soap Base: 89%
      Apricot Kernel Oil: 6%
      Glycerin: 1%
      Fragrance: 3%
      Preservative: 1%
      Whipped Sugar Scrub
      Whipped Soap Base: 49%
      Sugar: 40%
      Apricot Kernel Oil: 6%
      Glycerin: 1%
      Fragrance: 3%
      Preservative: 1%
      The glycerin is optional so if you choose not to add it just add another 1% to your whipped soap base.
      Sorry for the late reply - I never got a notification that you had left a comment.
      Happy soaping and thanks for letting me know I was missing something!
