This means there can be more that 13 "Captains", tho they dont hold the official title captain anymore. Theyre still people that were captains and therefore got some fighting power. Now considering Isshin got a captains cloak and considers himself captain level you may come to your own conclusion. The reasoning is a spoilr tho.

No one knows about Isshin cause he's a super old captain that existed before most of the current 13 court guard captains (though a few of them know him and will recognize him when they see him)

This filler characters stay in main plot for a little(and then the'll be gone), i guess anime creators liked them, and want to sell toys and keep them for a little idk :D Dont worry about them. Consider them as a small filler plot in main story.

And well while it is explained VERY late in the manga (it will be in the thousand year blood war arc) Ryuken has good reason not to care about the Quincies. But well he still is one and at least a fairly decent one. About Ichigo's dad. he will be explained too. If he had been able to use his powers, we wouldn't have the series. Isshin is a boss in his own right. Let'S say he got his power BACK somewhere down the line. i do not believe the exact moment is specified but my guess is one of three possible moments: one during Ichigo's shattered shaft traning. it's the least likely but possible. During his Bankai training or what i believe is the most likely, during the fight with Byakuya. I won't explain my reasoning because it would require spoilers butr I do believe it is one of those three moments. it could also concievably be the kenpachi fight. actually the more I think about it, the more i gravitate to thinking that Isshin regained his power when Ichigo thought vs Kenpachi.
The worst part is that we cannot tell the full story of Ishhin Kurosaki but I assure u that its pretty dope :)) Oh this is gonna be another amazing journey from this point, Arrancar arc lets go!!! Good reaction!!

Well the rough time frame would be when Ichigo lost to Renji the First time which caused the Hilt of his sword to break apart. Well if Ichigo's father had his power when Ichigo was a child he wouldn't been without a mother.

So they tried to keep the Filler characters around in minor roles to make the filler arcs feel more important than they were. There are some great Filler in Bleach (Especially the Menos Forest, don't skip that Arc!) but overall they're unimportant
So no one watches the Bouny Arc, lol i personal had no problem with most of Bleach fillers, i will agree that the way that arc ended was kinda plain but the enemies to me where quite cool and the Opening was HEAt. But i just yk ppl have their own opinons.
