John's Survival mode instincts are killing me. He is skipping every bit of ammo because he's so used to ammo having weight, but in Normal and Hard mode, it is weightless! Gaaaaaah, so many bullets!
Not to mention gave himself 30 more rads from eating jelled leaches when he really didn't have any more HP to spare. Attacked a friendly animal, and left some eldergod dolls behind. God, this guy is a dumber fuck than I am.

Listening to Margery describe how she sees colours makes me think the Thamesfolk have eyes similar to a Mantis Shrimp. Humans can see 3 channels of colour while a Mantis Shrimp sees 12.
That's actually somewhat misleading. Humans see 3 channels, but our brains can combine them. Mantis shrimp see more colors, but their brains can't combine them. It's roughly the same color range, it's just that they have channels for the in-between colors

Being able to sense more colors in the eyes means that the brain may have to do less work interpreting colors (or so scientists hypothesize). However, mantis shrimp _do_ have a wider range of color vision than humans, from near-ultraviolet (if not ultraviolet) all the way to far-red (if not infrared).

It makes sense seeing as many fruits don’t natively grow in UK climate. So without greenhouses, seed imports etc, many foreign fruits/veg wouldn’t be available in UK post war.

Me and my friend used to swim in the Thames all the time (when we were kids). He did swim longer than I did (up to his death), ironically it was once people said to him to STOP swimming in the thames did he sadly pass away. (aged 70)
The Thames is actually a very clean river now, one of the cleanest in the world. There was a huge effort to clean it up. Theres even dolphins and seals living in it!

Day 171 of requesting Age of Mythology - a full playthrough if possible. I love how even after you attacked him, Sushi just chilled out with Churchill for a little while. Seeing a normal British animal next to an irradiated fish mutant was also thematically relevant to Jon basically talking to all the Thamesfolk like he would to any other citizen of his IRL community
The Thamesfolk are based the beings called the Deep Ones from "The Shadow Over Innsmouth", by Lovecraft. Their looks and manner of speaking is how Lovecraft described them in the story. The dolls laying around are representations of creatures/gods of the Cthulhu Mythos - various Lovecraft stories that are loosely related. Seems some of the devs were Lovecraftians! LOL! I surely home in the future I'll be able to download this! It looks like a wonderful mod!!
The best thing about Churchill is that everyone not from the UK will (quite reasonably) assume he's a reference to Winston Churchill. He is in fact a reference to a TV advert for insurance in the 90s/00s.
Hitting Sushi is a really, really bad idea, I did it and after completing the quest for the Ferryman went to the market, Sushi spotted me and attacked, everybody in the market immediately turned hostile against me, I ended up having to reload right from the beginning of that quest and avoided hitting Sushi.

He was then subsequently shot in the face and stabbed with bayonets 17 times. He was then rushed to a local doctor where his entire extended family pleaded with the doctor to help, all 881 of them. He had many children who in turn had many children and so on. After the doctor did his best to help him, he was then sent home where the wife stayed by his side for the rest of his time on earth... years later at the age of 93.
It just occurred to me. If Jon decides to do a YOLO series of FOL (which I really hope he does), this may be the first one where he may not survive to the end!

Early game balance in this mod is all kinds of wacky but the moment you lay your hands on Ferryman's Friend it instantly becomes easier. Deals tons of damage and uses .32s which are all over the place.

Don't worry, I'm British and still don't understand Jon a lot of the time. Particularly his habit of...YEAH...inserting utterly...Y'KNOW...superfluous words into...YEAH...sentences. I still enjoy his vids though.

Early game balance in this mod is all kinds of wacky but the moment you lay your hands on Ferryman's Friend it instantly becomes easier. Deals tons of damage and uses .32s which are all over the place.
I cannot seem to get this thing to run on my computer, so I am living vicariously through you John.
