Welcome to The Thin Blue Line official youtube channel. In this classic police sitcom, Rowan Atkinson plays Inspector Fowler, head of the Uniformed Branch of the fictional Gasforth police station. Fowler is constantly in battle of wits with DI Grim and the Criminal Investigation Department. Created by Ben Elton, the series aired from 1995 to 1996. - ตลก

Apparently, this series and "Hot Fuzz" are extensively used in police training academies.

I am really surprised that this show only consist of 2 series. This is seriously one of the best sitcoms I've ever seen.
Sometimes, less is more. Like the Office (UK).

I usually strongly dislike sitcoms with the added laughter, the removed humour and all. But this one is actually quite bearable :)
The interior scenes in the Thin Blue Line were all filmed in front of a live studio audience so there was no 'added laughter'.
@Rokkky555 Not really. Each has their own unique features but also many overlapping themes. I'm a fan of both.
In the UK it's always a live audience they don't use laugh tracks. So that's probably why it's more bearable as it matches how people would react, rather than the scriptwriters vision.

James Dreyfus cracks me up. Almost stole the show from Rowan Atkinson, though not an easy thing to do!
@Suzie.q Popcorn123 His intense dramatising of situations cracked me up too. In fact the whole thing was a well cast collection of clever talented actors who playing comedy for drama (as opposed to the to the other way round) and that made it funny and fun (if that makes any sense).
He's also hilarious in Gimme Gimme Gimme.

Every character in the Thin Blue line were spot on. Hate the Police but loved the show. PS just the force, not individual police officers.😁
Strange how the TBL lasted 2 seasons, yet depressing shit like crapenders has done over 30 years.
I hated crapenders that's why I got devorced said it was either me or crapenders? So now I am living on the street but happy because don't have to put up with that miserable show
The irony being that Gladstone from this show has been an Eastenders regular for 20 years now 😂.
I heard the show ended simply because Ben Elton didnt want to do it anymore, and cast members also felt ready to move on. AFAIK it wasnt cancelled.

As opposed to an expected surprise?
Expected surprises can be annoying. For example guess something but then you second guess you’re self but it still happens like your first guess. Has ever happened to you?
If an event is expected it can hardly be a surprise !
