The Volunteers came out at the beginning of the game playing so much zone and they was leaving the Tar Heels players wide open from downtown and the Tar Heels was just knocking down everything that got the Volunteers in trouble real early in the game.🏀

All Tn had to do to win this game was not give up uncontested 3-pointers. NC hit at least 8 3 pointers which were not contested at all in the first half. It was just like shooting practice. That's 24 points just given away. It is more important to contest 3's than 2's since you only have to hit one out of 3 to shoot equivalent to 50 percent in 2 pointers. This has always been a weakness in a Barne's coached defense. Most teams don't shoot 3's as well as NC did, it seemed to me that they shot almost 100 percent on the uncontested shots from 3. Barne's blamed the players for the loss but in my opinion, the coach's strategy to concentrate on NC's inside offense lost the game for us. The game was lost in the first half.
