Awesome video 👍.. I found the cap made a huge difference too.. if you take your time you can literally get a firestik to 1.1:1 😳 love mine

Hi max.very informative video.iv been toying with putting the 450d in the car and going mobile .having seen your video it's made my mind up I will have a look tomorrow at the antenna that knights CB shop carry and go from there.cheers 73s tony

I had the FT450D out a couple of times. It was excellent if you have the room in your car. Loving the FT891 though, its ideal. Good luck with that. Cheers

Hi Max, thanks for making this video, very interesting and answers a few questions I had, as I've been thinking about making some of my own antennas, helically wound, Firestick style. In theory the helically wound will have a lower angle of radiation but as you have proved with all of your tests... theory and real world differ a lot! Best 73. 😁👍

I have the sirio 5000 turbo Max, mine tunes 26.8 to 28.5 SWR around 1.8 either end to 1.2:1 in the middle.
Great Antennas for the money, was looking for another but didnt know what to choose. Food for though, anyway another great video Max, keep up the good work. 73.

Tks Max this is mostly what I would expect . I use a Springer on a berlingo with a very heavy duty aluminium rack . I cut my ant a few inches so it covers 28.8 down to 27.3 at 1.5-1 vswr . I use on 10 metre but also good on ukcb .
I think a good lot of metal on the roof makes a big difference ( lowering the swr giving a slightly wider bandwidth).direct connection. But yes all these ant will do the job . Most important is right place ,right time ?

are the magmounts up the job of being mobile ? ..or do they look like they would fall off at 50 mph ?

None have ever fallen off, even over 80mph. (+130kph) Cheers
