- In the second half of 2008, the Suzuki Grand Vitara was given a face-lift and two new engines. A 2.4L in-line four is offered producing 122kW of power and 225Nm of torque. The new V6 is only offered in the flagship prestige model which produces 165kW of power and 284Nm of torque. Fuel economy has also been improved with the addition of VVT to both engines and the 1.9L Turbo-Diesel has also received some mechanic work improving its economy. Safety has also been improved with more air-bags and traction control standard on all models. The four mode four-wheel drive system is also available on all models.

When properly modified these little cars do just as well as the more expensive Toyota's, Nissan's or Rovers. I've had my 3 door for 6 months now and have done suspension, tyres, bullbar, new muffler and underbody protection.2 It does AMAZING. Couldn't be happier with her~
I have a suzuki grand vitara and I describe this SUV with one word: Awesome!
Bought one brand spanking and have been thrilled with its performance tows really well too.

I'm looking at the 1.6 2006 model currently. Do the rear seats tumble to give a flat floor space?
@@Doubledex123 I've not tried to flatten them yet, but they are very easy to remove all together. I'm considering taking mine out completely = more room for my camping gear 😉

I owned a 1998 RAV4. I enjoyed driving that. Now I have a 2012 Suzuki Grand Vitara 3Door, Auto, 4 Cylinder. I am wondering how capable it will be. Looks like it’s ok.

In Australia before you buy check out the price of spare parts and how easy to access in your area because stock can be more costly than other brands and delivery takes time in rural areas

Thank you mate...just ordered one. Almost no info on the 3 door on the web. Most reviews are based on the 5 door that isn't even a 4WD. Even Suzuki Australia has no decent info on this car...Thanks again Rob.

I bought an auto GV 2009 new. 2.4 ltr 4 door 4WD.Ride is a bit bumpy on bitumen. fuel economy is only 12litres per 100klm. Thats a mixture of highway and town. On roadc trip slightly better at about 11ltrs. Holds corners well . Havent used 4wd yet after 71ooolkm.Should have bought a suv without 4wd. Its gutless with aircon running if one wants to accelerate onto highway from standing. The gear changes are woeful. Needs at least 4 forward speeds in the auto. Only had one problem with suspension knocking. After dealer put paciing around base of shock towers, the noise went . thats 4 years ago. Noise starting to reappear so needs packing again I imagine. So after all that its reliable

Hi there, I am currently considering getting one of these, it has, I believe, a 3 inch lift. Is there anything I need to watch out for in particular when deciding on this vehicle, like if the lift has been done professionally, or where the typical rust spots are likely to be? It's in Queensland.

What's it like on the Motorway.. i test drove one about 3 years ago but the EML light was on.. but it felt sooo slow.. took ages to get up to 70mph

G Allan You droge 1,6 liter. This car has 2,4 liter engine ..reduction drive and locking central diferential.

Got a new GV V6 in 2008. Good VUS on road, but a shi*load bucket of problem, always on garage. Differential seal leaks, electronics problems, last failure a week ago: ABS pump, a $1500 part and i have only 57 000km on it. I never abuse the truck, only very light off road once a year, 80% of millage was on highway. Now on repair and for sale this week. Gonna trade this ?%$# for a Toyota or a Honda.
Yes they are beautiful SUV but don't buy it, quality its not there.
