    I like your videos. One suggestion is to lower the volume on the music transitions - it is too high compared to the voice sections

      Hi @davidprocaccini3153, totally agree and something we are addressing over Christmas (sorry I cant change the prior videos as YT doesn't allow that). Sound will be improving alot in 2024. Thanks for your feedback.

    Thanks for these basic level HA tutorials. I'm a relatively new adopter and muddling my way through. It's really helpful to have these things explained in such a clear and concise way.
    Also comforting to know that there's someone else out there who will understand some of the issues specific to trying to smart home in Australia.

      Thanks you @glowingcoals, I'm putting these out as I found that there is ALOT of information out there, but so many make the assumption that you know so much already. I try and take it back to basics to provide the foundation so that you can then build on this. Helicopter views are great but unless you know what you are looking at then it is very confusing. Thanks again for your support and pls ask whatever questions you have and if I don't know the answer, then I am sure the community will help out.

    OMG, "You had me at ..." at 3mins. I immediately subscribed!!! The way you link the associations of the different pieces of HA are answering questions I've had for 4 plus years. I'll be reviewing you "light" video's next. Thank you and keep up the great work, please. I've watched all the US and Brit chaps which are good. But, I guess I just needed to go down under. HA's docs leave a lot to be desired, to vague!

      LOL, welcome on board.
      The documentation is good, but it does assume a level of knowledge and sometimes that can be a little too nerdy. Hopefully the channel will remove some of that "nerdlingo" and let your HA hum.

    Over 75% of my Helpers are light groups. then a few for sensors & a speaker group.

      Hi @grahamshaw5531, yes that's pretty standard. The video was targeted at widening people's appreciation of helpers, so when you do hit a specific requirement, you know when to go. 🙂

    You definitely deserve more followers. Very hood content.
    Question: is it possible to display the volume from 1-100 or 1-10?

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Hi @ElCidPhysics90, the volume can be displayed on a slider on the media player card, you can then adjust it on there.
      Personally I have a separate dashboard that controls all volumes of all devices and groups of devices. I then have input variables that I check to see if they change and then modify the actual volume based on the input variable.
      I also perform a reset of all device volumes each night to a preset value so that if a volume was adjusted through the day it is reverted to the present (not to loud, as I have children :))

    would be cool to do an "Australian setup" video, include add-ons like BOM and theres some state specific add-ons too.
    some good tutorials! always good to find out about how others setup home assistant and pickup extra tips

    • @smart_home_australia
      @smart_home_australia  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Thanks @stevene_ , I had considered an Australian specific video for setup but wanted to get the basic videos out there first to get people up and running and open their eyes to what is possible. But I'll add that to my video ideas list. But thankyou to the feedback, YT content creators are always looking for new hot topics that would appeal to our audience.

      If only we had a sensor for Red Belly Black snakes I think they would sell out in minutes 😄
      OK You have convinced me. I'll start to think about a script and possible inclusions.

    I deeply enjoy watching your videos and find them incredibly beneficial. Thank you so much for your valuable content!

      Hi @othman2206 , thank you for your kind words. I put a lot of thought into these videos and try and pick topic for people that will be beneficial to them in helping them in their Smart Home journey. I remember when I started out and how confusing the topics were and how much misinformation there was out there and I'm not afraid to point out where I made a mistake or needed help. Watch out for Helpers part 2 that comes out Thursday... 🙂
