I got one. It is a very nice ride. Gets good mileage too if you keep the speed down. Goes through tires quick because of the weight. Two up with luggage and full tank is easily 1200 lbs plus.
Is this the place the MIS-information guys hang out? BMW never made a "two horizontally opposed" motor. It is a 4 cyl. in-line. Why the BS? IF you are not familiar, why chip in?
I own one of these, I never new that the white smoke was a common/expected thing on start up with this engine. It only happens to me when I rest her on her side stand instead of the center one. So I always store her on the center stand.
That bike has a flat 4 motor with an electrically activated center stand (on 2005 model, I think you miss spoke, this is a 2003?). It also has the higher output (HP) motor than the previous K12LTs. Nice bike!!! My Goldwing has a sticker on the area where all the switches are that says, "Too close for missiles switch to guns" there are a lot of switches on those Luxury tourers.
That is not a 2005 model. It would be 2003 or older. The 2005 was the facelift model with revised dash and more horsepower. I have a 2005 model. The boxer comment was amusing also.
K models are not boxers. The k is water cooled in line 4 cylinder with huge horse power. Learn your motorcycles if you sell them. Ks don't smoke from leaning either.
Of course it's a "flying brick" 4 cylinder engine. You are correct about the brakes, put a set of EBC Double-H™ Sintered Superbike brake pads in the front, and that bike will stop you RIGHT NOW! The integrated ABS brakes on that bike are amazing! My only complaint it that it is VERY top heavy at parking lot speeds.
Get your facts straight before you start talking. This is not a 2005 2nd gen. - it is obviously a 1st gen. This bike does not have a boxer engine - it is an inline 4 cyl. !
k1200 has no opposite engine, it has 4 in row :) Dude, you always make interesting test drives, keep going!
Nope you wrong
You are correct, 4 cylinders in a row laid over to the right . I own one
@@heytodd53074 You are wrong. It's an inline 4, and these and the 1000, 1100 bikes are laid on their side and longitudinally mounted.

Have you had any issues with the driveshaft. I read that’s a major issue with is model?
@@darrelltremblay9169 my 2000 k1200lt has over 100k miles with the same final drive.
The Harley make to much nooise,desturbing a nice review of a beatifull BMW
K 1200 let does not have a boxer motor. It have an inline 4 cylinder motor, not a boxer, which has two horizontally opposed cylinder.

K = inline, touring
S = inline, racing
R = Opposed
F = Parallel / single
G = Single, rear slanted
C = scooter, any propulsion
E = Car e46 e90 ect...
The BMW K bikes run inline motors. The R bikes have the Boxer motors. Maybe you should know what you have before giving a review.
Dragon's tail is fun, but you should try Stelvio over the Alps ;) you really should! Bob in Germany

Hi, You'll find most bikes have turn signals.
It's not a boxer engine, it's a flat 4.
yeah i learned that after, thanks
@@HasPotatoAim Laid on it's side. Sadly the last of the true "K" series bikes.

Since you don't know your facts, we most likely won't trust anything you say in this review!
The Moron said white smoke..Oil smoke from my LT is blue....LOLZ
its not a boxer engine its a inline 4
Im 5”4 almost 5”5 there is no way I can handle this huge beautiful motorcycle
I'm REALLY not sure if anyone has told you or not, but it's not a boxer engine! lol
It isn’t a boxer engine, it’s an inline four
It’s like some random dude was told to get on a bike he didn’t know anything about and try and sell it by talking superlatives.
EFI w/ shaft , Premium gas ?

I was thinking when the video start up, what sound is that? 🤣
The sound was the Harley Davidson
3:16 you are doing 160 mph??? What ? That’s is insane. If I go 70 on my 2014 Honda Ctx 700 I get so scare . You are crazy
It is an Inline 4 layed flat

It has a k motor . This is my other BMW. Flying brick
boxer? What r u smoking?
it is a boxter but inline 4..I own one.
Geesh the comments are unforgiving
K bike never have box engine, and the smoke probably because it's transmission leak
I seen one of these BMWs come by my house today.
+Sean Kerr Yeah and smooth riders

Really… not a word of mention on the suspension, on the abs, on the legacy. Another review that is just totally unprepared.
Didn't hear the words of wisdom
no gloves? oouch..........
K1200 = Inline-4
Boxer engines?😂

Maybe you should get your facts straight Kev. Gen 2 started in 03 and went to 08.
Ehhh få lige styr på hvad du kører på. Det eren rækkemotor det der.
