Roy is not the same anymore age is catching up with him. It is great to see he still has a champions heart to keep going like this.
I wish that Roy had retired from the sport before he became a shadow of his former self. I choose to not watch these later fights.
I choose to remember Roy as the boxing GOD that was in his prime !!! He was SPECIAL AND A JOY TO OBSERVE, !!! Boy do I really miss the look of absolute confidence and the INVINCIBLE ATTITUDE that made him a LEGEND !!!
brakes my heart to see roy move so slow in his old age should have retired still the greatest
I grew up on Roy, I loved watching him, I just pray someone close to him who loves him convinces him to hang up his gloves before its too late. He has nothing to prove, father time is undefeated.
Skoro po ciosie Brahmera nie mógł złapać oddechu to Roy by go zabił z tymi swoimi potężnymi doskokami
Roy, please, be happy!!! All the best.
When Jones was on top of the world as a undefeated fighter, I remember a interview he did before one of his fights, and he said "If he ever lost a professional fight, he would try to avenge his lost and if unsuccessful he would quit and walk away from boxing". Well, he's lost almost 10 times, and he's still trying to fight. Roy is one of my boxing hero's, and I would rather see him retire rather than fighting in his current state.
Me too...Toney was one of my favorites but also an enigma. He was a natural fighter, but at times he coasted. When he was focused,he was lights out!!! He also was a all state QB so he was a natural 200lb person that went to 160lb.That is a incredible athlete.
Seeing and knowing that Roy still boxes, breaks my heart smh.
With all do respect! Please! Roy! just retire!
The Crowd is so quiet that if someone was to fart the whole building would hear it.
patrzcie . Zyczmy wszyscy polakowi szczescia
Poor Roy cant even throw a combo anymore.
Roy Jones is the best Light Middleweight, Middlewieght, Supermiddleweight fighter I have ever witnessed. Anyone who disrespects him has never seen him fight at his prime. He would also have been the best at Cruiserweight and Heavyweight at his prime in my opinion cuz he was untouchable and had the reflexes and speed of a Cat. Man I'm happy to have enjoyed Roy Jones in his prime.
Roy is a legend ,he love to fight more than everything in the world and no one can take that.
anyone else realise the audio was out....
you can easily see his skills, he knows what exactly is going on in the ring and what will be next. But ofcourse he is not as fast as he was 10 years ago...
damn, thanks for the update. i respect toney more than rjj. you didnt see him ever get ko'd by any top fighter!
He's so slow now.
48:30 for a prime roy jones jr reflex weave and hard left hook
I enjoyed one of Roy's last fights,i watched him from the beginning,i'm happy he won but think it's time for him 2 hang his gloves,he can't do anymore,i'm not sure what country this was but the sound & video was out of sync in round 8 & 9,Emmett***
well i am a big RJJ fan so any fight he's in i will watch with interest. he is at a very particular part in his career being so past his prime but still trying to get a title the man is working his way up again which takes alot of heart at his age. i guess everyone will have their reasons.
Regardless of whether you are taking steroids, your body grows more in the areas you train more, so one muscle being out of proportion isn't evidence of taking steroids, just of training disproportionately in that area.
VERERYBODY!!!! GET ON YOUR FEET RIGHT NOW FOR ROY JONES JR.!!!!!!!
The Livind Legend.
"Roy Jones jr. Is the best fighter or warrior on the planet, no one is even close" - Bob Arum on a FOX interview.
I dont get why you guys say its sad he lost. YEah roy is past his prime, in his prime he was one of the goat. Still I respect him more for keeping fighting. The man is doing it for the love of the sport, win or lose, He is still enjoying it enough himself to keep doing it.
he won the first few rounds, took a knock down and lost a few rounds. i think the crowd just really wanted the hometown guy to win so they booed the decision but roy did do enough to win the split decision here, watch the whole fight. he was in the guys home country and the judges gave it to him, trust me if it was closer it wouldve went to the home team. thats how boxing judges work, crooked
Jesus that is some raucous crowd there! You almost can't hear the person two rows down whispering!
where were they fightin? the cemetary?
exactly...which is why not many peeps do what he did and win a heavyweight title all the way from middleweight...he is not THAT far off if u consider age and weight.
Did anyone ever consider that Roy still fights just because he loves to fight? I'd like to see him stop getting worked as much as anyone else, but maybe it just makes him happy to still be in the ring.
Brawo Pawel.
Brawo komentator.
dude he is considered one of the greatest boxer of all time. he owns the record for the most champion titles (13). he is the greatest pound for pound boxer of all time. he was fucking 49-1-0 before really losing for the first time. i dont and will never consider his DQ against griffin as a real lost.
Normalnie rozniósł by Pawełka w 1 rundzie.
roy is a warrior. he has already proven hes the p4p best fighter on the damn planet. yet he fights on long passed his prime. he doesnt care how many times he gets knocked out now. i guess true fighters never know how to give it up.
That was Roy Jones jr? He treated the fight like a sparring session.
any truth to the fact toney had to lose over 20 1bs for the RJJ fight? ive heard stories but was curious if there was any truth to that
I don't think it's sad... I think it's great see a guy who dominated in his time now 43 years old throwing punches against a guy who is more than 10 years younger... roy was great and looks like he still great
RJJ is one of my all-time favorite fighters ever. Though, it really saddens and bothers me see him drop against the likes of Lebedev, Green and Calzaghe. Guys that wouldn't even make it to his level in his prime or blatantly duck him. That's why I want him to retire, it's not nice to see a legend lose to those guys. It's as bad as Tyson losing to Danny Williams and Bruce McFries.
i agree. his speed now is probably the equivalent of my speed.
If you're talking about Roy,nobody hates him. Most people say he should retire because they don't wanna see their favorite boxer gets beat up....I am one of them.He has nothing to prove, but like they say "He's a fighting cock, and a fighting cock fights till he dies..."
i think he's trying to have more fun till it lasts. he would know when to retire better than anyone else. in this fight, while everyone else might say he's degenerating or something, as i said, i see a shift in style and strategies - u'll probably notice that if u compare this to a few fights before. of course, he's not like his prime time, but hey, he's learning some different things and seems to enjoy what he does. let's respect his choice.
haha, how was he not great? He's the only man alive that can say he went from middleweight champ, to super middle champ, to light heavy champ, to heavyweight champ, to light heavy champ again. In his best days his legs were too fast to let anyone near him, his hands were lightning fast, and he had 1 hit KO power in both hands. If he retired after the first Tarver fight, he goes down as the GOAT.
As it is, he was the P4P #1 for about a decade. But that was over a decade ago. So now.....this.
The only good reason a 43yr old should still be doing full contact sport is because so head & shoulders above the rest and undefeated that he's literally carrying the sport on his shoulder. Roy is only diminishing his greatness. And he is undeniably great. Roy will always be a better boxer than the average good fighter. It's not like anybody thinks he's "forgotten" or will ever forget how to fight. Makes you wonder if he needs money.
People dont want to see ROy get seriously hurt. Im a roy fan. But he cannot compete at the highest level anymore. I was worried after his last KO loss
well said!... its hard to tell yourself that your not the fighter you once were and that is what happined to roy... plus once he got cought by that lucky punch from tarver ( i mean LUCKY ) that was the end of him, as well as many other fighters. I am a boxer myself and for a fighter to be the best in the world and untouchable and then to be knocked out.. well that just ruins a mans confidence.. Just like mike tyson and many others.. its just sad that he didnt stop after the heavy weight belt.
You know it is what it is. He's out of his prime and fighting for a little more money. It's too bad that his style has not adapted to his age.
He still won
i have looked for the hard facts about toneys weight for that fight but everyone just seemed to geuss. toney himself after said he gassed after 4 round. but jones OWNED him those 1st 4 rounds. i think toney could have been a little sharper but jones was just flat out to fast for him imo. his speed in his prime was stunning.
Locking his legs and backing straight up while being lazy is just asking for another bad knockout. I hope he stays safe and retires soon without getting hurt.
I have never seen a better fighter than this man in his prime.
dajcie tytul nutki co wychodzil Jons junior
yes probably.. i think its the reason why he is still fighting, its not about money, its about his passion and love for the said sport. if i were to ask i'd like him to stop because as far as i can see he's slowing down nowadays. and considering his age. he dominated the 90's era in his weight division, i think its about time to retire coz he's already a legend for all of us.
is it 90s now ?
A Vitali Klitschko? -.-
Roy Jones Jr. The Best
i would add virgil hill reggie johnson and mike mcullam (yes he was old but as his fights showed agasint toney he was still good) to that list. all good solid fighters.
Roy jones jr in this fight looks like he was fighting with withdrawal from weed tobacco alcohol and cocaine...
damn the crowd is so quiet u can hear people walking n shit
At 43 it would have to be a sweet combo of steriods to compensate for aged hand/eye, muscle twitch reflex, balance etc etc. They will make you stronger and able to endure the training that hones such reflexes & such but after a certain age, steriods only help you look and feel good while taking a beating. Any prime boxer will tell you certain things happen unconciously. You're completing the 3rd punch of a combo before your brain even processes the opening. That grows away. It's simply aging.
Professional boxers like Roy Jones should pay more attention to pituitary gland injuries, because they significantly effect hormone levels in a bad way. I'm willing to bet Roy Jones has some sort of injury, as he is moving very slow now, and he's only about 43.
Roy has always had large bicep and back muscles. That is just the way his body is shaped. I have exceptionally large biceps for my size too and I don't work them at all.
Wygrał jak było 2:1 dla Roya?
Roy is fighting at 40% of what he used to fight at. His hand speed is still there but the difference is his legs. They are gone. This is why he is not explosive anymore. He does not have tork in his legs which makes punch with less power and speed. His last great fight was with Lacey. He looked like he pulled the clock back 10 years for that fight. I think it was 3 years ago. Roy is fighting strictly to pay bills now. Overseas, they are still willing to pay him
7 figures. I ain't mad at'cha Roy.
😥😥😢😢😭😭😭😭😭I miss the boxing GOD that was Roy Jones Jr.. Age is an uncaring BITCH that eventually beats us ALL !!! I much prefered to remember Roy as the invincible fighter of his glory years 😁😁😁What. A JOY it was to watch every new bout , feeling like we were fighting in his shoes. So much POWER !!!! THANK YOU ROY JONES !!🤓🤓🤓🤓
Please Roy stop fighting man!!! Please stop!!!
Still in better shape than 99,9% of us.
I'd say was a decent bout. Both did ok job. Unfortunately RJJ lost, one can see it. They awarded the fight to Roy so he can return to Poland to fight Wlodarczyk for the title shot. That might be a sad ending. I agree with most Roy's fans that it's retirement time. He's smart dude, can keep making money doing other things. But - his life, his choice.
wtf!! can we have an English version of this?
Idk he doesn't really seem like hes enjoying it like he used to in his younger years. Flat footed, bored, not really caring to move much. I know he's older now but i know he can do better than that. He just doesn't seem enthusiastic about it anymore...idk...
Roy doesn't need your sympathy. He is enjoying what he does best. He's adapting because the body changes unfortunately with age.
Who is there after Roy Jones Jr. vs Mike Tyson?
dont try to tell him to stop becouse he CANT BE STOPPED, he is roy
Głażewski przegrał WYGRANĄ walkę !!!!
co to k.... jest !!!!
I have watched the fight and and one thing is sure-Roy Jones Jr. was punished in the 6th round for not respecting the Polish fighter. His win wasn't great and definite and If you have been listening Roy's talk before the fight, you should have known it put the fight in a new perspective.
I dont see Roy Jones..WHERE IS ROY JONES JR?!
Roy Jone Jr is a master. Natural ability.
Be realistic, 20 seconds of the first round is the most realistic. . something similar against Griffin when he came back for the title!
respekt klukovi že vzal zápas
GREAT FIGHT
I agree with you, maniaco462. if he'd retired then, he wouldve went down as the best ever, even better as floyd, possibly. floyd's style is more crafty than roy's. roy depended on his speed and reflexes. floyd's style can allow him to fight effectively well into his 40's if he chooses to.but roy doesnt have the same priviledge.
roy jeszcze sie trzymał w walce z calzaghe teraz to juz nie to samo
he still box?
That was back when Roy was young. He didn' save up any of his money which is why he is forced to take fights now.
look how perfect that right hand is from roy at 45:22 followed by a perfect slip so many haters telling him to hang it up without any support, losers let the man do what he wants. he fights average at best but good enough to win this fight and beat alot of bums in boxing
its technically too late to ask for roy to "stay safe" since it seems that there might be something wrong with him now
If you understand the science of boxing you will see that the skill is still there. He just moves at normal speeds now and maybe doesnt have as much power. I thought he looked good for his age (43). He just beat a guy in his 20's.
He could be a great trainer !
let him fight coz that's what he loves. i see it as a shift in his style from relying too much on his instinct and inherently quick hands to actually being strategic and safe, knowing when to fire out. he's fucking trying hard, and u haters fucking show some respect.
Yes Toney actually had to lose like 40 lbs in 6 weeks. I always believe that Toney lost that fight at the scales and after that fight he,had to be hospitalized for dehydration.
In Roy's old age, can't he have the humility to at least keep his hands up?
To pay bills or out of greed? What bills? Don't tell me he's broke too now? (like so many other famous/once wealthy boxers) I thought Jones was too smart for that.
Ehh...czas niestety płynie nieubłaganie. Wystarczy wpisać w yt Roy Jones JR can't be touched, a wyświetli się na filmik z najlepszymi akcjami Roy-a.
Schodząc z wagi ciężkiej z now do pół ciężkiej. Wtedy?
