Nice one sir, this is such a fun song, yet brutally heavy at parts. I love it! At my Washington, DC concert a month ago (~4K - 6K sold out): Roughly even mix of 20s, 30s, 40s, and 50s. A few kids with their parents, a number of teenagers, and a few grandpas were also present. 🤘🦊
I am glad that a reactor has finally discovered how much fun this song is. Yes, 'Going Up', 'Going Down', 'Hell yeah', and the three ladies as 'Elevator (Lift) Girls', who still exist in small numbers in Japanese high-rise buildings and elsewhere, singing and dancing 'Hell is 2000 floors underground, we'll guide you there, life is always risky, you know? The lyrics are so simple, but actually full of wit and humour. It is also an uplifting song for women. When I went to BM shows in Japan, ir was just my subjective impression, but there was a wide range of age groups and a lot of older generations. I think this is a characteristic of BM's fan base. There is also the phenomenon that metal itself has become the music that elders prefer, and BM makes music with respect to such like metal and that the older metalheads notice and are impressed by this point. There is also simply the fact that young girls are impressed by the way they try their best to take on metal. However, at first there was some criticism of this, such as ‘what a pervert-like?’. The fan base is not exclusively metalheads, but also includes music lovers (me), idol fans and other fans with different musical tastes. Thank you from Japan.
As an Asian American born and raised in Hawaii, I was surrounded by local Japanese, Korean and Vietnamese culture, weather it be through food or music from me friends growing up on school. I've always gravitated towards Asian culture being half Filipino myself. I prefer the music from those countries compared to main stream American music in general!
Good reaction. There is a full English version of this song as well, but it is not a straight translation and nearly everybody prefers this original Japanese version. At BABYMETAL concerts you will see people from 6 to 80 from all backgrounds, all musical preferences. Average age? I have no idea.
Thanks, yeah someone told me about that but ever since i started reacting to them 3 years ago and their official MV, they've been getting blocked and taken down 1 by 1 so I reverted to doing "edited" concert clips because that's what everyone is suggesting. Every collab MV i reacted to got nuked except for their tracks with Thailand artists, those seem to be okay. My electric callboy x bm reaction had 10k views in 24 hours before it got blocked globally :(
I love this song but it has always seemed a little under appreciated. It rocks, it's heavy and it is catchy as all get out. The Babymetal twist is this elevator goes down 2000 floors and the bottom floor is...Hell! Nice reaction great choice to react to. Thanks.
I would say the average age of BABYMETAL concert attendees is pretty similar to the average age of humans on the planet, as it's really for everybody. You'll find 6y ear-old girls as well as 75 year-old guys. But in all seriousness, my guess would be in the 35 to 40 range, as it takes a certain maturity to be open minded enough to accept them. Young metalheads in particular tend to be haters, I think (I was one of them).
