Then the price skyrocketed to 800$ I got with me for twelve years an Unusual War Dog droped from the Dire Tide 2012 Chest event. It has a cool visual effect, but sadly the Dota items Market is stagnant.
everything that is crimson witness is expensive in dota because the means to get them is so hard. probably the most stable costing items though because of their red flex. Other immortals like the DC hook lose value when there are other cool looking immortals that players prefer to buy. Pudge has so many immortal hooks that is a wonder the DC hook has lasted this long
We picked DC hook to pay respect for the legendary skin. Yeah, all Crimson Witness skins are expensive, but we picked Void's bracers as the most expensive.
2:01 my internet cafe friend got it from ranked pubs random item drop back in 2017-2018 , he just checked the market price casually at hero loadout set and seconds later suprised by the price LOL. The fact that i play beside him and he just whisper beside me about the item he got had hundred dolar value, first thing i thought it was kinda overprice dota 2 ingame menu item, since market item is more reasonable and cheap price compare to the ingame menu item offered, after i checked the market price its really expensive item.

As of now, the spectre crimson is $1k+ making it the most expensive crimsonwhile fv crimson arms is around $400. the rubick golden ornithomancer about twice as expensive as the golden wand/ weapon. but i think the most expensive dota2 cosmetic is the golden pugna set and a skywrath mage wings (forgot the names), i read there are only 4 of them released out there. the only time i saw an account has it is a saudi prince.
Crimson witness chests and items will always be of the utmost rarity as not even every person attending will get 1per fb. Ofc the likes of DC hook have legacy and rarity but there are just more DC hooks than any singular crimson witness item. Also some items gain value if certain plays and players are done with it. There are no lack of AM anime like sets yet there was one who was played a lot by miracle when the set released, with golden bashers: now the most expensive AM items to exist. Even other carry items of higher or similar rarity from the same year or the next that had lower odds and quantity value so much lower. I had a friend sell his golden bashers for 60€, it's very high for just a very rare item in a year you could eat immortals for levels for more immortals makings odds not that bad but then it went you to 300 and even 700 iirc (i have around 5copies of golden items of the ti after because of it in case particular item popped off, new equipment means old items don't get value even immortals)
Also should be known that the wardog is one of two items in dota one of which is consumable which has the ancient rarity. thats beyond arcana which is above immortal, Legendary, mythical, rare, uncommon or common. while rarities don't really relate to price the ancient rarity is definitely a reason for that to cost more than most things.

unwrapping sets is the biggest depreciation in dota. I opened my black nihilty night stalker set which isnt even worth 10% of the bundle. it has lowered in value since new ns sets came out. same thing can be said for most bundles. Blood seekers immortals as well

A good example of this is the deep sea scoundrel set which was worth about $50. When they released the rylei battle blessing that set dropped commonly and it was tradeable so the set dropped from $50 to something as small as $2. Maybe even less now. Unfortunately if you add free tradeable skins to a market with the same skins being sold then it drops the value significantly. It's a double edged sword because those that just want the cosmetics would be happy to have it but those that like having the high value item would lose it all. To put it to you this way my friend traded his arcana for the deep sea scoundrel set and he's regretted it ever since. That was all due to making free items tradeable.

I also imagine that they probably dealt with the same problem a different way perhaps. remember that not all Dota items are not tradeable. basically only the free ones and exclusives. IO arcana is not tradeable and neither are the free arcanas that they gave away. but all my arcanas that I bought are tradeable. for example
Just an example: Gold pugna can’t be bought in Dota2 you can only by it by owner, two are in the market for 5000 dollars, ok no outside of the game, Anti Mage have 2 i teams one for 800 other for 1300 you can still buy in dota, blood have also expensive items, I play this game every day.
