Wow, I am so happy to find this video......I cannot find anyone to install my thermostat and I found this.......I am 77 years old and feel like I could do this alone......at the 5:02 about mark......I was watching how you attach the little wires back onto the screw.......and when you do that most technical part you fly with super fast speed and I can't focus on what you are doing......I tried to slow it down and your hands cover the spot also......can you fit this.........and I feel like I could fix mine myself and not have to pay 300.00 to the Electric Company.......thanks for posting this......wish it was slower......I know how to speed up, but I do not know how to slow it down......thanks again.....
You will need a 3/32" screw driver to use on the 7 screws inside the unit....mine needed a flat head only and I got a 3/32" from Dollar Tree....and it worked great....
Here's my question: if we shut down the power at the fuse box, how is that device still showing the temp even when the batteries were removed? I am going to be replacing mine very soon and figured I would ask. I understand that if power was not shut down it might affect the units the thermostat is controlling.
My wires don't seem to match up with this product. For example my red wire is on the place of the Green terminal. Does that matter? Should I keep the placement the same? Or re connect the wires to the correct letter on the terminal? I've never done this before if you can't tell lol Any advice would help!
it goes by the letter red to red 😅yellow to y ,white to w green to g the RC or the to red and c to black wire ..if thermostat got an Rc and the options you need to use a small wire to bridge them together ..
Nice install video, Im not having any luck anywhere else so I'm going to ask here ,I have a white Rodgers thermostat model #1f79 it does not show the adjustment temp number and won't turn on the heat or ac, idk what to do
The thermostats I had came with what seems like a red wire that connects both RC and RH. And based on the prior setup, the red wire connected to RC. So I did the same to the RC (Top right). Strongly recommend taking a picture how it was setup prior. Always follow the thermostats instruction manual! Hope your heat works out for you!
My only complaint so far about this thermostat is that the tiny tiny holes above the screws (green area) @ 3:52 .....are so small that you have to work to get your proper wire into them and then the wire breaks off.......this messed me up big time....
Don’t remember why I wore gloves. It was not because of the thermostats. :) Reason why I changed the thermostats was because the “cool” position turned off the AC, and the “off” position turned on the heat. You can see that in the display in the first 30 seconds of the video.

Thank you for a helpful video Really saved me time and trouble!

Can someone explain what the FAU Switch is, I don't see it in my panel box.
This was super helpful, thank you so much
Awesome, your tutorial got this job done for me. Thanks so much
Thank you so much..... You saved my life... thank you....

Where do I connect the c wire?
I'm having a 4 wire emerson thermastat.
My color wires/ white, green, red, blue.
Why am I not getting cold air
Even though it's low voltage, should you not turn the breakers off..

Did your red wire connect to the RH or RC ? I just can't seem to get mine to work. I hope you see this soon. It's freezing here (Michigan 🥶)

How do you change from F to C? Thanks
Hi, was wondering if you recommend turning it off when you leave the house or do you keep it going?
Lashun, do you mean turning the thermostats off when you leave the house?
Lashun, I have a new video on how to program the same thermostat. Check it out and see if that works for you.
My only complaint so far about this thermostat is that the tiny tiny holes above the screws (green area) @ 3:52 .....are so small that you have to work to get your proper wire into them and then the wire breaks off.......this messed me up big time....
I know. Could they make it anymore difficult.
great vid thanks
How do I get the cover off?
There is a cavity at the bottom left corner.
All I wanted to know was how to remove the face of the thermostat and you completely skipped that important piece of information.
There should be a slit/ curved side you can put a screw driver in to help lift
😂
Why did you wear gloves? What convinced you the thermostat was bad?

Do you have to turn off the A/C and the gas unit before replacing the Thermostat
@@willieyoung1952 -- I did, although it might be low voltage....you never know when the wrong wires touch each other..
U skipped the most important parts this was useless
This video is useless . You didn’t show anything you did
He went through it all step by step 🤔
