I love it when you talk through your thought process when finding items and also when you see something that might look like a good vintage item and you show it and explain why you aren't buying it. I've learned so much from you. Thank you!!!
I feel like you live in an alternate universe. This haul would be virtually impossible here. Not only are there always multiple resellers shopping at all times, but the likelihood of all that goodness just hanging out is like... NEVER! Well done!
Leah Clo Same in Toronto. I’m not a reseller, just a collector, and almost never find anything before the dealers do. It’s a very competitive market here.
@@IvyRoad Same here. I am not a seller, just collector too.. Never even had a yard sale before. Go into thrift shops here in So. I thought maybe just for his own interest and he replied that he resells everything. Are there any of us anymore who just go to buy things for themselves???
@@suzannelawson9215 you have GOT TO network you should have talked to that guy and told him that you were a collector. The Goodwill gods have blessed you again! That is more than I find in Goodwill and Salvation Army in a year here! I enjoy watching your videos because I seem to learn something new every time! Thank you!
Is anyone else thinking to themselves, “why the heck are her Goodwill’s always packed with great stuff, and mine has crap”? Why is Pennsylvania so much better than south eastern Wisconsin, north eastern Illinois? 🤷♀️🤔🤨
Add Houston, TX to that list. I see only an occasional ‘goody’ every now and then. Either people are swarming the stores looking for merchandise or Goodwill is hoarding the valuable items for their e-commerce gatherings. 😡
Idk anything about Wisconsin or Illinois but I' do know that living in a prosperous, well-established area is essential for secondhand stores having good vintage items.
We had the black panthers growing up... Man, those things got hastily glued back together so many times while Mom was at work. Good thing my brothers were better at airplane model glue than playing ball in the house.
Another good video! You were snapping up really great stuff like they’d laid it out especially for you. But it was killing me to hear your glass rattling around in your cart. I avoid this by going straight to the linens and putting something down in the bottom of my cart. Love your channel!
I think I'd take an old towel with me just for the breakables. I cringe when glass and pottery is put into the bottom of the cart and other things are put on top too. So many of my things at home are chipped or damaged from very little use, so I think Jocelyn is charmed by the fairy folk! 😊
At around 16mins, (just after the silver overlay plates) there was a mirror & lucite tray that you should get if you go back. And then at 17 mins there was another 1950s black tray with scoubidou handles.
SCORE!! What a great Goodwill trip! The Goodwill near me has maybe 1/4th the number of shelfs yours does. Ours in mainly clothing and then just small shelfs in the back. I'm going to have to see if there are others in the area. I did purchase my first piece of Haeger the last time I thrifted. A cute green planter. Thanks for taking us along with you.
What an incredible haul!! I'm in love with that Fenton swirl dish, the vibrancy of the green is just stellar! When you're looking through purses, keep an eye out for Rodo of Italy (1970s). I found a gold basket-woven metal clutch for $4 that would resell for between $150 and $300. I have no plans to sell it, but when I looked up comps I was floored!
Wow, I'm so impressed you found so much Kanawha glass which was made in Dunbar WV. About 45 minutes from where I live. I'm sad to say I don't have any. I'm going to have to change that. You really got some beautiful pieces. Sad to say our Goodwill's don't have that much glass. Kanawha Glass was bought out by another Company and closed their doors forever in 1989. I do have a piece like that Fenton dish you found.,mine is Cranberry.
For those wondering about Good Will merch quality -- I have never worked for GW but there were a couple times I went back into the local store where I had donated, to buy a couple of my things back😂That made me think they tend to depend on their individual communities for donations so I started going to the larger cities to shop, especially higher end suburbs. It was always worth the trip...expensive high-end university areas were also a good place to find clothes for my teenagers after graduation.
I really, really want that squirrel! My grandma had a couple hung up on their farm while I was growing up. My dad, who passed away Christmas night 2018, called me squirrel. I have been looking for ones like that, but haven't been able to find any. Seriously, if you (or someone) could get it, I will buy it!
Love your videos! For your viewers new to the game, “genuine leather” does not mean , nor is it quality leather. Technically the item is leather but it’s not the good stuff. Keep up the awesome videos. I have learned a lot from you !
I'm amazed that you shop right before closing and can find so much other dealers didn't see Maybe thats the secret late night shopping Love your expression
I finally went to GW today and scored my first Hadley mug! YAY! Found my first cabbage leaf plate from Portugal but it had a crack. They had a whole aisle of Xmas already. I made a second sweep of the SA through the glass and found a Volkswagon bug Mason Jar. Ebay said it sold for up to $27.99.
Good to hear more of your thought processes as to why you reject things as problems aren’t always visible on camera - saves the yelling at the screen !
I about died when I saw you pick up the black panther. I have been looking for one because my grandparents had one on their tv when I was growing up. I found one almost got it for $37 but after looking at it it had a big crack through it. And here you find one at goodwill. Our goodwill doesn’t have anything in them I guess I need to start traveling over the state line into PA. Lol.
Hello, the purple bottle you looked at without a flat bottle is usually snuff box (if old.). You didn’t t show any markings. But or perfume bottle, either way collectible.
I find some really cool things at the Goodwills here in Atl and surrounding area. I used to be in an antique flea market and did ok, but I'm trying to stop procrastinating about selling online. You have a really good eye for beautiful things
You hit the jackpot kid! My favorite is the panther! I feel the same as your other viewers: I never find a cart full of good stuff at the Goodwills here in East Texas......unless I'm just window shopping due to low funds; then I see all kinds of things I can't get that day!
I knew that was an Otagiri cat bookend right away! I have a slightly bigger cat alone which is in the same colour way and style, I love it. My younger son collected Otagiri for a while and I snagged some pieces when he stopped collecting and weeded what he kept. Some of it reminds me of Lladro which is also gorgeous.
Love your interesting videos and your knowledge, but absolutely hate the music these thrift stores insist on playing over the loudspeakers. If I worked at one I'd go bonkers! Ha ha! Keep up the good work... we enjoy all your hard work and good taste in selecting your collectibles, plus love that you keep your language clean, unlike so many folk on u-tube. Blessings always!
I 💜 Panthers 💜💜💜💜💜 Great Trip Jocelyn... my Thrifts are rocking so hard right now as well...the drive up lines to donate are sooo long, I'm like YES!!! TFS💚
I have never been in a Goodwill that has the great items you find. From Ohio to Florida, If by chance I did find a nice piece of glass, it would be in a case and cost at least 5 times what you are paying. You are so lucky.
I found a Japanese vase in a shape similar to that ear vase. I mean, the bottom was rounded, and the top flared out. It had slab pieces cut for handles. That is where the similarities end. Mine is blue glazed, and the handles are somewhat scallop shaped. There is a ceramic rose on the front, and the top is sort of fluted. No idea what it is, but I liked it.
The good coaches to get are the vintage leather coach ones. If you can find those they can go anywhere from $40 to $200! They'll have the stamped label inside.
Nice to know the green swirl dish is Fenton. I picked the same one up not too long ago for a buck and when I got home I wasn’t feeling it and threw it in my donation pile so I might have to take it out from there now lol
I am 72 years old and I remember one of those black panthers always sitting on top of our television when I was young. I got pretty excited when I saw it LOL
I also had a black panther my sister in-law gave to me as a 🎁 43 yrs ago but my 18 month old son broke it 😢. It was the nicest piece I owned and was beautiful laying on my coffee table!

You hesitated at 3:34, right before your sticky hand situation. What was the little white plate with a pretty lady on it? I have seen them at a thrift store near my home. I am so glad to hear so many other people commenting about their poorly stocked thrift stores. Ours here in Northern Alabama are really sparse of everything but clothing. God bless sweet girl and happy thrifting. Sherry from Alabama
i recently sold a squirrel similar to the one at 1:42...same shape , mine had a darker shade paint glaze on it , very nice all over . sold for 20 , i bought for 1.50
Hong Kong is vintage. If you look at articles manufactured there, the workman/woman ship is amazing. It unique and not part of China when they were a huge manufacturing base.
Great haul lots of primo loot. Anything TIKI or Hawaiian always sells for me.I would have picked up the Papa Smurf glass too. See you in the next video
