That’s it - a slam dunk. Goodbye to my faithful v7 stone, which owes me nothing after 6 years. Hello v100 Mandello, for the next 6 years🤞. Red or green? Top spec or base spec? Don’t currently know and don’t currently care. Great to have a beautiful, modern and still characterful Guzzi upgrade option. Hurry up, MG, because I want one asap.
Drop. Dead. Gorgeous! Comprehensive update & great production as ever. My brother's just had his 850 Le Mans MK1 recommissioned, so a comparison with a new version would be fun.
The active aerodynamics are well thought-out. That the tank wings reduce drag upon the Rider by 22% is phenomenal! With its adaptive windscreen this may rank as the most comfortable tour /cruiser available! You've hypnotized us with all the rest. A 115 HP Moto Guzzi...
Guzzi hit the nail on the head with this bike, I've ridden nothing but naked bikes for the past decade. They're a great bit of fun but everytime you need to go more than an hour via highway away you ask yourself why you chose a bike that would cause you to suffer over long distance riding from the wind blast. In all fairness some naked bikes do it better than others and particularly some even come with little fly-screens which prevent harsh buffeting. I've been looking for a naked bike with a front fairing now for about 2 years, ADV bikes are too big and heavy with loads of features I don't need nor want to pay the cost of acquiring as well as almost all coming with 19 inch front wheels, sport tourers are often far too "touring" focused to have fun with on twisty roads and remove the open-air sense of what makes a motorcycle fun just riding around slowly. I've wanted a cross between a naked bike and a sport-tourer for the longest time and the only thing I've seen that comes even remotely close was the KTM 1290 Superduke GT which comes in with a gobsmacking engine with insane insurance prices to match and a price tag starting at $21k US. I'm not exactly in love with the looks of the KTM either, the superduke R and smaller 890 Duke look good in their own respects but the SDGT looks like a fat superduke really and if I'm paying over 20 grand for a bike I better love every inch of it. Guzzi nailed it with this bike, it's a naked bike with some sport-touring styling and tech added in for those bits of highway you'd rather not endure on a naked bike. That single-sided swingarm has me gushing, it's truly a work of art in my opinion. Only thing I'm not so stoked about is the spec-up requirement for the best looking color in the green and gold over the red and bronze, I wish you could get whichever color you wanted for either trim.
Great vid. My exact thoughts - the best looker since the LeMans and clear similarities in the lines. Also lovely to hear the engine note underscoring your words (shame not a little louder in the video!). It sounds lovely and relaxed.

Another great video on what looks like a well thought out bike. It seems most manufacturers are obsessed with crazy power figures these days, if it wasn’t for electronics, they probably would be just for the elite riders. If Moto Guzzi has worked hard at reliability and backup this bike will be a winner. Looking forward to reviews on this, especially yours. IMO, the best motorcycle reviewer on TH-cam. Good work 👍

I soon progressed onto a Suzuki GT185 and was thinking about an RD250 but then tired of the whiny smelly two strokes and started hankering after a deep throated big four stroke bike. The Honda CB750 or Yamaha XJ650 were attractive options, even a Triumph Bonnie, but then one day I saw a red Moto Guzzi Le Mans 850 ride by, and I was smitten. Sadly, I never got around to owning one as there wasn't a dealer in my local area, but I'd drive hundreds of miles to buy one if I could these days. My riding needs have changed, so I'll be trading my RT for one of these next summer. As far as looks are concerned, it reminds me of my R1100RS from the mid nineties. This is what a sport tourer should look like.
I was long hooping for trade my Ducati ST3 for a new Guzzi, but they waited to long to precent this, I think there will not be a new Guzzi this year. Now I bought a BMW RT in spring and have to trade two bikes for this.
The air cooled R9T 1170cc boxer puts out 110 BHP so I see no reason why the water cooled, albeit slightly smaller displacement, MG would not make the claimed HP. Seems to have more electronic rider modes etc. than the R9T. A head to head ride comparison would be interesting. Lovely looking machine. Too bad so few dealers in Canada. Would love to test ride it. If we headed to Vancouver come spring time do you think the dealership would let us take one for a spin?
Unfortunately, Lyle, I have to be honest and say that's unlikely. I've heard that they have been fielding calls about the bike with people asking to slap deposits down site unseen; consequently, they have no reason to need to give test rides. I hope I'm wrong. I think it will sell like hot cakes, despite the price.
Last year (2021), I started bird-dawgin this Italian beauty. In September 2022, I gave Plano, Texas USA Moto Guzzi a $500 deposit. Early in the morning of 10/17/2022, on the Moto Guzzi USA web store, I entered my online “reservation” for the 2023 V100 Mandello Sport in “Centenario” Livery (premium Verde 2121 color) - Special Edition $17,490. Great looking bike, but like every other mechanical device and new engine, getting a first year of any engine and platform is just taking a chance that Gremlins may come up, that you just don’t need or have the time to fix. Especially with a Company like Guzzi with hardly a reliable Dealer network.

No news on that yet, but if I were to guess - given the tech, then the top of the line centenary edition will likely come it at around 18-20K US, with perhaps the standard edition a couple of thousand less.
If MG can use this ST platform to develop a real GT, with the emphasis on the T, it may actually compete with the big players. The real challenge, should sales become the objective, is distribution. Before you buy a Moto Guzzi, try and buy anything mechanical that wears out or requires electricity . . .
Good to know, Walter. Hopefully this bike incorporates more touring features (in their marketing, they're talkling about luggage, grab handles etc. etc.) The Mandello factory upgrades are underway as are extended dealerships, apparently. We'll see. Cheers.
The problem this bike faces in the market is the low power rating. No doubt it will be compared to the R1200 platform and it will not perform at that level being down on torque and HP. The V2 Multistrada will also be compared to the V100
As you rightly say, undoubtedly there will be those that will be unimpressed with the engine performance specs and will move on, perhaps without even riding the bike. I'm not sure riders have ever bought Guzzis for their out and out performance since the Le Mans. More likely, the discerning rider will be looking at the more holistic package of the bikes you mention: looks, suspension, handling, feel and comfort will all play a part in their choice. Cheers.
I unfortunately hate the execution of this aero package as a long-time rider, I will explain: I had the idea for active aero in bikes before active aero was popular on cars when I first learned to ride and the wind pushed on me. It would be cool if when braking at high speed flaps open in the rear to keep my back tire down from doing a stoppie in an emergency and would be connected to the front wheel abs. It would be awesome if there was simple flaps over the rear OR front wheels to stabilize tank slap caused by draft and counter gust even a flap above the rear wheel to unload the rear suspension along with flaps on the side of the rear swing arm to apply more downforce directly to the wheel in a lean angle on unsprung weight like moto gp bike have on the front wheels creating instant grip to the rear tire stopping side slip and drifting even help with hydroplaning but no... Moto Guzzi released a road bike with "active aero" but its only two flaps on the fuel tank that blocks air from hitting your chest so you can have a more relaxed ride without a full front fairing. Great now I can't mount a tank bag... is there no other reason for the Aero!?!? Pretty bike and nice execution of the rear swingarm and that's about it
Some good points. Rather than blocking air, I'm guessing they steer it, smooth and reduce buffet. Not sure if they were an afterthought - a reaction to buffet at speed which could only be reduced by styling changes, or if they were engineered in via wind tunnel work (let's hope their wind tunnel work is better than Suzuki or Merc F1!). Cheers. Thanks for the comment.
It's a Guzzi: it will be solid, planted and well made - but weight also comes with that. It offers something different. It's how it handles the weight when moving that counts; hopefully, like most Guzzi's, it will flow nicely. Cheers.
@@BlueMarbleRider yes it is a beautiful bike and you do not feel the weight when riding i went a tour trough Denmark 🇩🇰 on my Honda Africa Twin 2019 DCT and i must say that the bike felt rather clumsy with its 250 kg on the small roads in the Danish small towns with hundreds off traffic lights 🥵
This is the next step in the evolution of big block Guzzis from the V11 to the Griso and now Mandello. They are 90hp to 110hp to 115hp. This actually isn't a large increase from the Griso which was discontinued in 2017. Also, the weight will be around 500lbs. Comparing this bike to the small block V7s or V85s shows a lack of knowledge about Moto Guzzi and the engines it has built bikes around. Comparing big block to small block Guzzis is comparing apples to oranges.
While larger capacity, the liquid cooling enables this engine's dimensions to be smaller than the the V85 block. It had to be said - Guzzi point it out their own press kit.
Not till I get my hands on one. But there is one review - Cycle World were allowed to take a pre production version out: www.cycleworld.com/story/motorcycle-reviews/moto-guzzi-v100-mandello-first-ride-review-2023/ Hope this helps. Cheers.
No. Blue, orange, red, grey, white, yellow, even a LIGHT green like Kawasaki... but not this dark green. And the Le Mans was fuckugly. But then aestethics are personal and therefore not up for discussion.
Shame it has the gimmicks of electronic aero flaps and screen riser. It just pushes up price. To me this bike is a nice standard bike. As a "1 Bike must do it all” motorcyclist I really like this bike for commuting, touring and fast weekend riding......But it will be way too expensive due to the luxury gimmicks
Think they will do a base model (the red version), no quick shift, no semi active suspension, this will probably be the one to buy if you lean toward old school Guzzi, but who can deny the beauty of this bike. Every rider should experience an Italian biker at least once.
Infamous Cam Issues. Had Guzzi's all my life; since 1978. Bought a 1200 Stelvio, (6000 miles) cam's went! Piagio (6 month wait for parts) replaced them under recall but charged me for labour, oil and filter. At 8000 miles, cam's went again!! Piago said: "another 6 month wait, and another £380 labour, oil, filter". No chance of purchase refund as others also attempted, by taking Guzzi to court. I decided to leave the Stelvio uncovered in my garden to rust, it's £9000 of rust now, but a very sound reminder to Never buy Guzzi ever again!!
Wow - sorry to hear that and always important to real owner feedback: thank you. Perhaps a sage warning that people should not run to their dealers for the V100 for the first year of sales at least, until the beta testing is over. Cheers.
@@lamilumag ...And, at last, you get my point..."whatever". Certainly this gimmicky failure will be collectible in the future--the bike that ended Moto Guzzi. And just who is the person that we hear reading the carefully planned, corporate-approved advertising script?
Me. For what it's worth, I disagree. I believe that the intro of the liquid cooled guzzi is not an inevitable end to the V7, although the v85TT is likely to end up larger and water cooled. Grisos are out there, and a great bike, but Guzzi surely had no choice given the tighter Euro emissions standard. Thanks the for the feedback.

"Who this bike is aimed at"?
Me.
Me too 😊
233 kg dry weight is the weight off the V100 It was in the heaviest team. Quite unexpected actually. It looks much lighter. 🤢
Dear Santa, I want one, please...
I could do without the gimmicky flaps. Weight is important. More dealer support in the USA.
Has anyone ordered one yet ?
International MS in Vancouver took deposits a year ago (and they've been bugging me for 6 months)! The UK is getting them into showrooms late autumn.
put this motor in the t85
Take my money.
Is anyone going to post a actual review of this bike, rather than just posting stock photos and video?
Not till I get my hands on one. But there is one review - Cycle World were allowed to take a pre production version out: www.cycleworld.com/story/motorcycle-reviews/moto-guzzi-v100-mandello-first-ride-review-2023/
Hope this helps. Cheers.
"IF" the clutch needed to be replaced, I wonder if that would require the engine to be removed? I'm not real familiar with Guzzi...
Good question: I haven't ever worked on a Guzzi.
No. Wet clutch is at back of engine. Clutch can be done with engine situ
Good video except for the idiot music in the background.
Thanks for the feedback.
And something to break.
Think they will do a base model (the red version), no quick shift, no semi active suspension, this will probably be the one to buy if you lean toward old school Guzzi, but who can deny the beauty of this bike. Every rider should experience an Italian biker at least once.
Please give me 1'400 ccm
look likes Suzuki Katana.
without the flip up headlight.. thank god
Cheers.
Really a stupid story. Could be that in the US, there are only incompetent mechanics?
The S is silent
In what? Guzzi? If you see an "S" tell your optician.
@@BlueMarbleRider Le ManS
Only if you are French.
@@BlueMarbleRider It's called after the place in France... but okay - whatever man...
@@lamilumag ...And, at last, you get my point..."whatever". With all due respect, when viewing a video that someone has worked hard to create, rather than leaving a cryptic, sarcastic criticism about such a trivial matter as pronunciation, you might try to look at the big picture. Thanks for the feedback.
