How about the sanyo-sanin area pass? It’s 7 days and more cost effective. Or you can buy an 8 day basic fare ticket and add on the express tickets for Shinkansen when you need to take it. Compare prices between getting a pass vs a basic fare ticket
Hi I’m starting my trip from Fukuoka as I’m travelling from South Korea. The trip is from 01/12-12/12 I’d like to visit Hiroshima, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Fuji and finish in Tokyo. What passes would you recommend? Thank you so much!!
Heyyo! On the JR Pass website in the description, check out the Sanyo-San’in Area Pass. For 7 days, you can take Shinkansen between Hakata (Fukuoka) and Shin-Osaka + Limited express to Kyoto + applicable local trains. For Kyoto-Nagoya-Fuji-Tokyo, check out willer express routes. Or if you don’t mind spending more, check out individual Shinkansen tickets using the Smart EX app. Apart from my suggestions, check out similar passes/options that may better suit your specific travel plans :) Hope this helps!
I do not agree, the JR pass is not a good deal, and forces you to use JR small track trains which are much inferior to regional trains from other companies
Let me know your questions in the comments!
I'd also appreciate your feedback to improve my future videos :)
Thank you so much. This was exactly the informative video I needed.
So glad this video helped! Hope you find the best JR Pass for your Japan trip :)

What happened when you used the ticket machine without the passport reader?
After scanning the qr code, an error was displayed. Went to the information counter and they directed me to the correct ticket machines 😅
