- 1 year ago, Audioslave reunited to stand up against the ignorant, vile, shit bag in-chief at The Anti-Inaugural Ball at the Teragram Ballroom in Los Angeles on 1/20/17. Fresh off the stage while the energy was hot, in this extended never before seen footage, Chris Cornell, Tom Morello, Brad Wilk & Tim Commerford, discuss for the first time, a full fledged Audioslave reunion and tour...which tragically, is no longer possible. Joined by Chris and the members of Audioslave are Chris' wife Vicky, daughter Toni, brother Peter, Juliet Lewis & Susan Sarandon.
I thank God that I got to see Chris Cornell on the Euphoria morning tour and three times with Audioslave and once with Soundgarden, Not only was he a great singer but he was an awesome person

I dont think it's that he was sick of SG, I think at this point Chris was just on a real high having played with them again (in same respect of the TOD tour buzz), maybe there was a bit of making up to do too, Audioslave wasn't the most cohesive group of musicians coming together, there were a few fall outs around the break up on a last album that they didn't really tour. Prior to his death he was very engaged & busy

I didn't even know him personally, I never met him but I'm very sad that he's no longer with us, sad to know that I will never, ever be able to say hello to him.

This is six months before he died. Seems There was a dramatic weight loss over those six months
Agree he clearly lost alot of weight rapidly and looked unwell in the few months before he died, I remember seeing an interview of him shortly before he passed and was left thinking that something was very wrong with him...face and neck gaunt, beady eyes sunken....it seemed a very sudden ageing in him, but people discount this in many social media feeds around his death. Tragic, I think he had relapsed was ill in many respects and it was clear to see in him physically, he fronted it up well & maybe stubbornly. In those moments you need someone strong and assertive in a friend who sees it and throws you into an environment that you can get the help needed.
He said he doesn’t eat when he’s depressed and Vicky was causing him to be depressed. She was abusing him for sure.
Mikeyljac Mikeyjac I had read that Vicky the wife was involved in drugging him up for six or more months prior to having him killed. She was also very abusive. He was likely drugged and depressed at the time.

@@christar9527 - She met Chris while on tour with Audioslave in France. The band knew her but Chris was smitten, he married her in a bar in France and she didnt want the band invited...they weren't. Her and Chris booted of a flight after she threw water at an elderly lady while having a tantrum..poor Chris. On the phone that night she said Chris sounded Cocky..WTF..uhmm maybe cause he was sick of her control. I cant say anything for certain,but out of respect for him,I have questions. Also the band remained TOO quiet after, not saying anything. So much for friendship and loyalty.

He wanted out years earlier but knew she would destroy him. You can tell by the endless lawsuits and money grabs she's engaged in since he died. Imagine the threats, veiled or apparent she must have showered on him for years prior to his death. Sometimes it's just easier to try and keep going instead of fighting. This man had zero fight left in him by the time he died.

Fascinating bit of footage this, Chris doesn't appear to care about the camera recording what is an initiation discussion on the idea of getting Audioslave to tour again, Chris approaches the subject very casually and enthusiastically like there is no obstacle and there had never been any bad blood between them over the Audioslave break up.... but I sensed the others weren't so sure and Brad and Tim especially seemed awkward around the discussion. Cornell was in full on work mode at this time with so many things going on and to him feeling possible (solo tour, TOD, Soundgarden etc) and maybe for B, T & T they were thinking it wouldn't be feasible with being re engaged with Rage Against Machine? Hard to call it but from this footage I dont think its likely an Audioslave tour would have happened or it would have taken a lot of work to get all members on the same page.

And you all know by staring at this man's eyes that there's no way he decided to kill himself unless, unlikely, he did after being coerced or get family threaten. Obscurity in his death remains, and everytime a reminder of that day comes grief enters like a stained knife, dirty and infectious, screaming for justice to be made for him and for others like him.
