All were great musical talents ..Allen Collins..just is himself..plays..and enjoys..speaks just how it is...my favourite instrumentalist..RIP..Allen..respect and regards Karolyn Melbourne
I just subscribed to whoever posted this and the other two videos what you have here ladies and gentlemen is pure, certified platinum, gold, exclusive, film footage. I always hoped there was footage of this somewhere lo and behold, it appears I was at the Lonestar Café back in 83 for their show, I had known Leon since 1980 and I was living in New Jersey at the time and he was in Florida. We always kept in touch every now and then I actually met him because my uncle was a bartender at a Hilton and Eatontown New Jersey and they stayed there the Rossington Collins Band when they did their first show in New Jersey and I got to meet him and we just had an immediate friendship and I named my first son after him and wanted him to be my son‘s godfather but at the time we live so far apart, but he would’ve been glad to do it, but we always remained friends every time they had a concert in Houston where I was living when Skynyrd regrouped during the reunion tour up until his death, he would always leave me and my family tickets and passes. He was one of the greatest human beings ever to set foot on the Earth heart of gold, and he was just an amazing person. the pain he suffered after the airplane crash and the way he had to re-adjust to play with just three fingers on his left hand and still rock on and I’m a bass player and I try to do the things he did with three fingers and let me tell you it ain’t easy he was just pure gold. Love you miss you man.
yet under the influence constantly he did more in 39 years than you have in your 70. consider the tragedy and trauma that man has went thru, you sure have wasted those 70 years making senseless comments like that
Damn they were a tight band and kicked ass. Bitter sweet hearing the LS songs live again but ya can't help but think about Ronnie and Steve being gone at this time.
This is the golden unicorn 🦄 of Skynyrd discoveries. Probably the most rare of rarities in the Skynyrd realm. I am grateful you uploaded this. I’ve waited a long time to see this or Rossington Collins Band live footage but you’ve outdone yourself. Great job 👏🏻👍🏻
I would never make this up, I’m right in front of Allen. I totally remember how bad his arm looked from the crash. It was crazy packed. This show was at Sommers on the Beach in Ft Lauderdale.
This is really rare. It’s the only footage I’ve ever seen of the Allen Collin’s Band. Thank you so much for uploading this for all to enjoy. I’m hoping more of this type stuff will be unearthed over the years. Thanks again!
1/2 Skynyrd here minus Ronnie, Steve, Gary & Artimus. Says alot about a band when every player incl Ed, is strong enough to anchor a band on their own. Now it's really just Artimus. Play it pretty in heaven Boyz 🕊️🙏
They couldn't have picked a better singer with Dale never got to see Joplin she was the closest thing to it singer arrested in college band twice in Florida she was an amazing singer intercourse one of the baddest rock bands in history
Collins best guitaristvfrom this many branch family tree. . Gary a more solid player and person . Im sure dale thought so. Smart as she is talented and beautiful. Their lp and fitst rossington collins worthy of standing with skynards canon.
Sucks that 8 of 9 of the recording & touring members are gone, Gary a full year now. Lightning struck pure gold over & over again. RIP LYNYRD SKYNYRD 🦅🎸🎸🎸🎶🙏🕊️
@@in2livinit Leslie Hawkins is still alive, and Rickey Medlocke was a member for about 1 and a half years during 1971-72 and played drums and sang lead on a few songs on their early Muscle Shoals recordings(some of which was used in Skynyrds First and Last and is also available in the Collectybles box set)

Rare!!!
The guy playing the Strat really nailed the details of Ed King's Sweet Home guitar work.
I believe that was Randall Hall he took Allen's place in the tribute tour. Very outstanding and under rated In my opinion
Randall Hall

What made Allen trade in the explorer as his #1 in the 80s?
Good question
They couldn't have picked a better singer with Dale never got to see Joplin she was the closest thing to it singer arrested in college band twice in Florida she was an amazing singer intercourse one of the baddest rock bands in history
